BNV : পর্বত থেকে মোশির নামতে দেরী হচ্ছে দেখে লোকরা উদ্বিগ্ন হয়ে হারোণকে ঘিরে ধরল| তারা বলল, “মোশি আমাদের পথ দেখিয়ে মিশর দেশ থেকে বের করে এনেছে কিন্তু আমরা তো এখান থেকে কিছুই বুঝে উঠতে পারছি না য়ে মোশির কি হয়েছে| সুতরাং এসো, আমরা আমাদের নেতৃত্ব দেবার জন্য দেবতাদের তৈরী করি|”
KJV : And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for [as for] this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
YLT : And the people see that Moses is delaying to come down from the mount, and the people assemble against Aaron, and say unto him, `Rise, make for us gods who go before us, for this Moses -- the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt -- we have not known what hath happened to him.`

ESV : When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him, "Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him."
ERVEN : The people saw that a long time had passed and Moses had not come down from the mountain. So they gathered around Aaron. They said to him, "Look, Moses led us out of the land of Egypt, but we don't know what has happened to him. So make us some gods to go before us and lead us."

BNV : হারোণ তখন ঐ লোকদের বলল, “তোমরা আমার কাছে তোমাদের স্ত্রী, পুত্র, কন্যাদের কানের সোনার দুল এনে দাও|”
KJV : And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which [are] in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring [them] unto me.
YLT : And Aaron saith unto them, `Break off the rings of gold which [are] in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring in unto me;`
RV : And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden rings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.

ERVEN : Aaron said to the people, "Bring me the gold earrings that belong to your wives, sons, and daughters."

KJV : And all the people brake off the golden earrings which [were] in their ears, and brought [them] unto Aaron.

BNV : হারোণ সবার কাছ থেকে সোনার দুলগুলো নিয়ে সেগুলো গলিযে একটি বাছুরের মূর্তি গড়ল| হারোণ বাটালি দিয়ে বাছুরের মূর্তি গড়ল এবং সোনা দিয়ে মূর্তিটির আচ্ছাদন তৈরী করল|তখন লোকরা বলল, “হে ইস্রায়েল, এই তোমার দেবতা যিনি তোমাকে মিশর দেশ থেকে বের করে এনেছেন|”
KJV : And he received [them] at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These [be] thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
YLT : and he receiveth from their hand, and doth fashion it with a graving tool, and doth make it a molten calf, and they say, `These thy gods, O Israel, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.`

ESV : And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden calf. And they said, "These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!"
ERVEN : He took the gold from the people and used it to make an idol. Using a special tool, he shaped the gold into a statue of a calf. Then the people said, "Israel, here are your gods! These are the gods that brought you out of the land of Egypt!"

BNV : সব দেখার পর হারোণ বাছুরের মূর্তির সামনে একটি বেদী তৈরী করল| এরপর হারোণ ঘোষণা করে জানাল, “আগামীকাল প্রভুর সম্মানার্থে একটি বিশেষ চড়ুই ভাতি উত্সব পালন করা হবে|”
KJV : And when Aaron saw [it,] he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow [is] a feast to the LORD.
YLT : And Aaron seeth, and buildeth an altar before it, and Aaron calleth, and saith, `A festival to Jehovah -- to-morrow;`

ERVEN : Aaron saw all these things, so he built an altar in front of the calf. Then Aaron made an announcement. He said, "Tomorrow will be a special festival to honor the Lord."

BNV : পরদিন খুব ভোরে লোকরা উঠে কিছু পশুকে মেরে হোমবলি ও মঙ্গল নৈবেদ্য দিল| তারপর তারা বসে পাত পেড়ে খাওয়া দাওযা করে আনন্দ স্ফূর্তিতে মেতে উঠল|
KJV : And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

BNV : ঠিক সেই সমযে প্রভু মোশিকে বললেন, “তোমার লোকরা, যাদের তুমি মিশর দেশ থেকে বের করে এনেছো, তারা মারাত্মক পাপ কাজে লিপ্ত হয়েছে|
KJV : And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted [themselves: ]
YLT : And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Go, descend, for thy people whom thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt hath done corruptly,

ERVEN : At the same time, the Lord said to Moses, "Go down from this mountain. Your people, the people you brought out of the land of Egypt, have done a terrible sin.

BNV : আমার নির্দেশ সম্পূর্ণরূপে অগ্রাহ্য করে সোনা গলিযে তারা একটি বাছুরের মূর্তি তৈরী করেছে| তারা গলা সোনা দিয়ে তৈরী একটি বাছুরের মূর্তিকে পূজো করছে এবং তাকে নৈবেদ্য দিচ্ছে| আবার তারা বলছে, ‘ইস্রায়েল, এই হচ্ছে তোমার দেবতা যিনি তোমাকে মিশর থেকে বের করে এনেছেন|”
KJV : They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These [be] thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
YLT : they have turned aside hastily from the way that I have commanded them; they have made for themselves a molten calf, and bow themselves to it, and sacrifice to it, and say, These thy gods, O Israel, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.`

ERVEN : They have very quickly turned away from what I commanded them to do. They made a calf from melted gold for themselves. They are worshiping that calf and making sacrifices to it. The people have said, 'Israel, these are the gods that led you out of Egypt.'"

BNV : প্রভু মোশিকে বললেন, “আমি ঐ লোকদের ভাল করে চিনি| ওরা ভীষণ জেদী ও উদ্ধত|
KJV : And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it [is] a stiffnecked people:
YLT : And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `I have seen this people, and lo, it [is] a stiff-necked people;

ERVEN : The Lord said to Moses, "I have seen these people and I know that they are very stubborn. They will always turn against me.

KJV : Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

BNV : কিন্তু মোশি বিনযের সঙ্গে, প্রভু তার ঈশ্বরকে অনুরোধ করল, “আপনি ক্রোধ দিয়ে আপনার লোকদের ধ্বংস করবেন না| আপনি আপনার শক্তি ও পরাক্রম দিয়ে ঐ মানুষদের মিশর দেশ থেকে বের করে এনেছিলেন|
KJV : And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
YLT : And Moses appeaseth the face of Jehovah his God, and saith, `Why, O Jehovah, doth Thine anger burn against Thy people, whom Thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a strong hand?
RV : And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

ESV : But Moses implored the LORD his God and said, "O LORD, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?
ERVEN : But Moses begged the Lord his God, "Lord, don't let your anger destroy your people. You brought them out of Egypt with your great power and strength.

BNV : কিন্তু আপনি যদি ওদের ধ্বংস করেন তাহলে মিশরীয়রা বলতে পারে য়ে, ‘প্রভু নিজের লোকদের জন্য খারাপ কিছু করার পরিকল্পনা করেছিলেন| তাই তিনি ঐ লোকদের মিশর থেকে বের করে নিয়ে গিয়েছিলেন| তিনি চেযেছিলেন পর্বতের ওপর নিয়ে গিয়ে তাদের হত্যা করতে| তিনি চেযেছিলেন তাদের পৃথিবী থেকে সরিয়ে দিতে| তাই আপনি তাদের ওপর রাগ করবেন না| দযা করে আপনার মনকে বদলান| আপনার জনগণকে ধ্বংস করবেন না|
KJV : Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.
YLT : why do the Egyptians speak, saying, For evil He brought them out to slay them among mountains, and to consume them from off the face of the ground? turn back from the heat of Thine anger, and repent of the evil against Thy people.

ESV : Why should the Egyptians say, 'With evil intent did he bring them out, to kill them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth'? Turn from your burning anger and relent from this disaster against your people.
ERVEN : But if you destroy your people, the Egyptians will say, 'The Lord planned to do bad things to his people. That is why he led them out of Egypt. He wanted to kill them in the mountains. He wanted to wipe them off the earth.' So don't be angry with your people. Please change your mind! Don't destroy them.

BNV : আপনার দাসগণ অব্রাহাম, ইসহাক এবং যাকোবকে স্মরণ করুন| এবং আপনি তাদের কাছে নিজের নামে শপথ নিয়ে বলেছিলেন: ‘আমি প্রতিজ্ঞা করছি য়ে আকাশের অসংখ্য তারার মতো তোমাদের বংশ বৃদ্ধি হবে| এই দেশ তোমাদের বংশধরদের দিয়ে দেব| ওরা এখানে চিরকালের জন্য থাকবে|”‘
KJV : Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit [it] for ever.
YLT : `Be mindful of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, Thy servants, to whom Thou hast sworn by Thyself, and unto whom Thou speakest: I multiply your seed as stars of the heavens, and all this land, as I have said, I give to your seed, and they have inherited to the age;`

ESV : Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them, 'I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have promised I will give to your offspring, and they shall inherit it forever.'"
ERVEN : Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. These men served you, and you used your name to make a promise to them. You said: 'I will make your people as many as the stars in the sky. I will give your people all this land as I promised. This land will be theirs forever.'"

BNV : তাই প্রভু তাঁর মন পরিবর্তন করলেন এবং তাঁর লোকদের ধ্বংস করবার ভীতি প্রদর্শন পালন করলেন না|
KJV : And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
YLT : and Jehovah repenteth of the evil which He hath spoken of doing to His people.
RV : And the LORD repented of the evil which he said he would do unto his people.

ERVEN : So the Lord felt sorry for the people. He did not do what he said he might do— he did not destroy them.

BNV : তখন মোশি ঘুরে দাঁড়াল এবং পর্বতের নীচে নামল| তার হাতে ছিল বন্দোবস্ত লেখা দুই পাথর ফলক| ঐ দুই পাথর ফলকের দুপাশেই লেখা ছিল প্রভুর নির্দেশগুলি|
KJV : And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony [were] in his hand: the tables [were] written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other [were] they written.

BNV : ঈশ্বর নিজের হাতে ঐ দুই পাথর ফলক তৈরী করে নিজেই ঐ নির্দেশগুলি লিখেছেন|
KJV : And the tables [were] the work of God, and the writing [was] the writing of God, graven upon the tables.

BNV : উত্তরে মোশি বলল, “এই কোলাহল কোন যুদ্ধ জয়ের উল্লাস নয় আবার পরাজয়ের কান্নাও নয়| আমি কিন্তু গান বাজনা শুনতে পাচ্ছি|”
KJV : And he said, [It is] not the voice of [them that] shout for mastery, neither [is it] the voice of [them that] cry for being overcome: [but] the noise of [them that] sing do I hear.
YLT : and he saith, `It is not the voice of the crying of might, nor is it the voice of the crying of weakness -- a voice of singing I am hearing.`

ERVEN : Moses answered, "It is not the noise of an army shouting for victory. And it is not the noise of an army crying from defeat. The noise I hear is the sound of music."

BNV : মোশি সেই শিবিরের কাছে গেল| সে দেখল সোনার বাছুরের মূর্তিটি এবং লোকরা তা নিয়ে নাচানাচি করছে| এসব দেখে মোশি রেগে গেল, রাগের চোটে হাত থেকে পাথর ফলকগুলি নীচে ফেলে দিল এবং পর্বতের পাদদেশে তাদের ভেঙ্গে চূর্ণবিচূর্ণ করে দিল|
KJV : And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.

ERVEN : When Moses came near the camp, he saw the golden calf and the people dancing. He became very angry, and he threw the stone tablets on the ground. The stones broke into several pieces at the bottom of the mountain.

BNV : মোশি সেই সোনার বাছুরের মূর্তিকে আগুনে ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দিল| তারপর আগুনে সেই মূর্তি গলে গেলে সেই ছাই জলে মিশিয়ে ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের সেই জল পান করতে বাধ্য করল|

BNV : মোশি হারোণকে বলল, “এই লোকরা তোমার সঙ্গে কি করেছিল য়ে তুমি ওদের এমন পাপের দিকে ঠেলে দিলে?”
KJV : And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?
YLT : And Moses saith unto Aaron, `What hath this people done to thee, that thou hast brought in upon it a great sin?`

KJV : And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, [and] go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.

KJV : For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.
YLT : and Moses saith, `Consecrate your hand to-day to Jehovah, for a man [is] against his son, and against his brother, so as to bring on you to-day a blessing.`

BNV : পরদিন সকালে মোশি সবাইকে বলল, “তোমরা মারাত্মক পাপ কাজ করেছো কিন্তু এখন আমি প্রভুর কাছে যাব এবং চেষ্টা করব যাতে তিনি তোমাদের এই পাপকে ক্ষমা করে দেন|”
KJV : And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.

KJV : Therefore now go, lead the people unto [the place] of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.
YLT : and now, go, lead the people whithersoever I have spoken to thee of; lo, My messenger goeth before thee, and in the day of my charging -- then I have charged upon them their sin.`
