BNV : পাঁচদিন পর মহাযাজক অননিয় ইহুদী সমাজের কয়েকজন বৃদ্ধ নেতা ও উকিল তর্তুল্লকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে সেখানে গেলেন; আর তারা পৌলের বিরুদ্ধে রাজ্যপালের কাছে অভিযোগ দায়ের করলেন৷
KJV : And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and [with] a certain orator [named] Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.

ERVEN : Five days later Ananias, the high priest, went to the city of Caesarea. He brought with him some of the older Jewish leaders and a lawyer named Tertullus. They went to Caesarea to make charges against Paul before the governor.

BNV : পৌলকে ডেকে পাঠানো হল, তখন ফীলিক্সের সামনে তর্তুল্ল সওয়াল শুরু করলেন, ‘মহামান্য ফীলিক্স! আপনার জন্যই আমরা মহাশান্তিতে আছি; আপনার দূরদৃষ্টির জন্য এই জাতির অনেক সংস্কার সাধন হয়েছে৷
KJV : And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse [him,] saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,
YLT : and he having been called, Tertullus began to accuse [him], saying, `Much peace enjoying through thee, and worthy deeds being done to this nation through thy forethought,
RV : And when he was called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy much peace, and that by thy providence evils are corrected for this nation,
RSV : and when he was called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying: "Since through you we enjoy much peace, and since by your provision, most excellent Felix, reforms are introduced on behalf of this nation,
ASV : And when he was called, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy much peace, and that by the providence evils are corrected for this nation,
ESV : And when he had been summoned, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying: "Since through you we enjoy much peace, and since by your foresight, most excellent Felix, reforms are being made for this nation,
ERVEN : Paul was called into the meeting, and Tertullus began to make his accusations. Tertullus said, "Most Honorable Felix, our people enjoy much peace because of you, and many wrong things in our country are being made right through your wise help. For this we all continue to be very thankful.

BNV : একথা আমরা সকলে সর্বত্র সম্পূর্ণ কৃতজ্ঞতার সঙ্গে স্বীকার করছি৷
KJV : We accept [it] always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.

BNV : কিন্তু বেশী কথা বলে আমি আপনার মূল্যবান সময় নষ্ট করতে চাই না৷ এইজন্য আপনাকে অনুরোধ করছি, আপনি অনুগ্রহ করে আমাদের এই সামান্য আবেদন শুনুন৷ দয়া করে ধৈর্য্য ধরুন৷
KJV : Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words.
YLT : and that I may not be further tedious to thee, I pray thee to hear us concisely in thy gentleness;

BNV : কারণ আমরা দেখছি, ঐ লোকটাই হচ্ছে যত নষ্টের মূল৷ জগতে য়েখানে যত ইহুদী আছে এ তাদের মধ্যে গণ্ডগোল পাকাচ্ছে, এ নাসরতীয় দলের একজন নেতা৷
KJV : For we have found this man [a] pestilent [fellow,] and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:
YLT : for having found this man a pestilence, and moving a dissension to all the Jews through the world -- a ringleader also of the sect of the Nazarenes --

ERVEN : This man is a troublemaker. He causes trouble with the Jews everywhere in the world. He is a leader of the Nazarene group.

BNV : আর এ আমাদের মন্দিরও অশুচি করতে চেয়েছিল, তাই আমরা একে ধরে এনেছি৷আমরা কি বিষয়ে এর প্রতি দোষারোপ করছি তা আপনি নিজে একে জিজ্ঞেস করলেই সব জানতে পারবেন৷’
KJV : Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.

KJV : But the chief captain Lysias came [upon us,] and with great violence took [him] away out of our hands,

KJV : Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.

BNV : সমবেত ইহুদীরাও এতে সায় দিয়ে বলল, ‘এ সবই সত্য৷’

BNV : রাজ্যপাল যখন পৌলকে বলার জন্য ইশারা করলেন, তখন পৌল বলতে শুরু করলেন, ‘রাজ্যপাল ফীলিক্স, আপনি অনেক বছর ধরে এই জাতির বিচার করছেন জেনে আমি আনন্দের সঙ্গে আত্মপক্ষ সমর্থন করছি৷
KJV : Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:

ESV : And when the governor had nodded to him to speak, Paul replied: "Knowing that for many years you have been a judge over this nation, I cheerfully make my defense.
ERVEN : The governor made a sign for Paul to speak. So Paul answered, "Governor Felix, I know that you have been a judge over this nation for a long time. So I am happy to defend myself before you.

BNV : আপনি অনুসন্ধান করলে দেখবেন, আজ বারো দিনের বেশী হয় নি আমি উপাসনা করার জন্য জেরুশালেমে গিয়েছিলাম৷
KJV : Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.
YLT : thou being able to know that it is not more than twelve days to me since I went up to worship in Jerusalem,

BNV : আর এই ইহুদীরা মন্দিরের মধ্যে আমাকে কারোর সঙ্গে ঝগড়া করতে বা সমাজ-গৃহে জনতাকে উত্তেজিত করতে দেখে নি৷
KJV : And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:

BNV : এরা আমার বিরুদ্ধে য়ে দোষারোপ করছে তার কোন প্রমাণ আপনাকে দিতে পারবে না৷
KJV : Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.
YLT : nor are they able to prove against me the things concerning which they now accuse me.

BNV : কিন্তু আপনার কাছে আমি একথা স্বীকার করছি, আমি যীশুর পথের অনুসারী হয়ে আমার পিতৃপুরুষদের ঈশ্বরের উপাসনা করি৷ আমার দোষারোপকারীরা বলছে য়ে সেই পথ ঠিক নয়৷ মোশির বিধি-ব্যবস্থায় যা কিছু লেখা আছে এবং ভাববাদীদের গ্রন্থে যা লেখা আছে আমি সে সবে বিশ্বাস করি৷
KJV : But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

BNV : এদের মতো আমারও ঈশ্বরের ওপর প্রত্যাশা আছে য়ে ধার্মিক ও অধার্মিক উভয়েরই পুনরুত্থান হবে৷
KJV : And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

BNV : এইজন্য আমিও সর্বদা সেইভাবে চলি যাতে ঈশ্বর ও মানুষের সামনে নিজের বিবেককে শুদ্ধ রাখতে পারি৷
KJV : And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and [toward] men.

ERVEN : "I was away from Jerusalem for many years. I went back there to take money to help my people. I also had some gifts to offer at the Temple. I was doing this when some Jews saw me there. I had finished the cleansing ceremony. I had not made any trouble, and no one was gathering around me.

BNV : সেই সময় তারা আমাকে মন্দিরের মধ্যে শুচিশুদ্ধ অবস্থাতেই দেখেছিল৷ সেখানে তখন কোন ভীড় বা গণ্ডগোলহয় নি৷

BNV : এশিয়া থেকে কিছু ইহুদী সেখানে এসেছিল৷ আমার বিরুদ্ধে তাদের কিছু বলার থাকলে আপনার কাছে এসে তারা আমার প্রতি দোষারোপ করতে পারত৷
KJV : Who ought to have been here before thee, and object, if they had ought against me.
YLT : whom it behoveth to be present before thee, and to accuse, if they had anything against me,

KJV : Or else let these same [here] say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,

BNV : না কেবল তাদের মধ্যে দাঁড়িয়ে মৃতদের পুনরুত্থানের বিষয়ে আমার বিশ্বাস ঘোষণা করেছি বলে আজ আপনাদের সামনে আমার বিচার হচ্ছে৷’
KJV : Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.

BNV : ফীলিক্স সেই পথের বিষয় ভালভাবেই জানতেন, তাই তিনি বিচার স্থগিত রাখলেন, আর বললেন, ‘প্রধান সেনাপতি লুষিয় এলে আমি এর বিচার নিষ্পত্তি করব৷’
KJV : And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of [that] way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.
YLT : And having heard these things, Felix delayed them -- having known more exactly of the things concerning the way -- saying, `When Lysias the chief captain may come down, I will know fully the things concerning you;`
RV : But Felix, having more exact knowledge concerning the Way, deferred them, saying, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will determine your matter.

BNV : তিনি সেনাপতিকে হুকুম দিলেন, য়েন পৌলকে প্রহরারত অবস্থায় রাখা হয়, কিন্তু কিছু স্বাধীনতাও তাকে দিলেন, ‘এর কোন বন্ধু যদি এর দেখাশোনা করতে আসে তবে বারণ করো না৷’
KJV : And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let [him] have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.

BNV : কিন্তু পৌল যখন তাকে ন্যায়পরায়ণতা, আত্মসংযম ও ভবিষ্যতের মহাবিচারের কথা শোনাচ্ছিলেন, তখন ফীলিক্স বেশ ভয় পেয়ে গেলেন, আর বললেন, ‘তুমি এখন যাও আমার আবার সুয়োগ হলে তোমায় ডেকে পাঠাবো৷’
KJV : And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
YLT : and he reasoning concerning righteousness, and temperance, and the judgment that is about to be, Felix, having become afraid, answered, `For the present be going, and having got time, I will call for thee;`

RSV : And as he argued about justice and self-control and future judgment, Felix was alarmed and said, "Go away for the present; when I have an opportunity I will summon you."
ASV : And as he reasoned of righteousness, and self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, Go thy way for this time; and when I have a convenient season, I will call thee unto me.
ESV : And as he reasoned about righteousness and self-control and the coming judgment, Felix was alarmed and said, "Go away for the present. When I get an opportunity I will summon you."
ERVEN : But Felix became afraid when Paul spoke about things like doing right, self-control, and the judgment that will come in the future. He said, "Go away now. When I have more time, I will call for you."
