URV : کاشکہ میرا کُڑھنا تولا جاتا اور میری ساری مصیبت ترازُو میں رکھی جاتی !
KJV : O that my grief were throughly weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together!
YLT : O that my provocation were thoroughly weighed, And my calamity in balances They would lift up together!
RV : Oh that my vexation were but weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together!
RSV : "O that my vexation were weighed, and all my calamity laid in the balances!
ASV : Oh that my vexation were but weighed, And all my calamity laid in the balances!

ERVEN : "I wish my suffering could be weighed and all my trouble be put on the scales.

URV : تو وہ سمندر کی ریت سے بھی بھاری اُترتی ۔اِسی لئے میری باتیں نے تاملّی کی ہیں
KJV : For now it would be heavier than the sand of the sea: therefore my words are swallowed up.
YLT : For now, than the sands of the sea it is heavier, Therefore my words have been rash.
RV : For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas: therefore have my words been rash.

URV : کیو نکہ قادِر مطلق کے تیر میرے اندر لگے ہُوئے ہیں ۔ میری رُوح اُن ہی کے زہر کو پی رہی ہے ۔خدا کی ڈراونی باتیں میرے خلاف صف باندھے ہُوئے ہیں۔
KJV : For the arrows of the Almighty [are] within me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.
YLT : For arrows of the Mighty [are] with me, Whose poison is drinking up my spirit. Terrors of God array themselves [for] me!
RV : For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof my spirit drinketh up: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.

URV : کیا جنگلی گدھا اُس وقت بھی رینگتا ہے جب اُسے گھاس مل جاتی ہے؟ یا کیا بیل چارا پاکر ڈکارتا ہے؟
KJV : Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? or loweth the ox over his fodder?
YLT : Brayeth a wild ass over tender grass? Loweth an ox over his provender?
RV : Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? or loweth the ox over his fodder?
RSV : Does the wild ass bray when he has grass, or the ox low over his fodder?
ASV : Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? Or loweth the ox over his fodder?
ESV : Does the wild donkey bray when he has grass, or the ox low over his fodder?
ERVEN : Even a wild donkey does not complain when it has grass to eat. And a cow is quiet when it has food.

URV : کیا پھیکی چیز بے نمک کھائی جاسکتی ہے ؟ یا کیا انڈے کی سفیدی میں کوئی مزہ ہے؟
KJV : Can that which is unsavoury be eaten without salt? or is there [any] taste in the white of an egg?
YLT : Eaten is an insipid thing without salt? Is there sense in the drivel of dreams?
RV : Can that which hath no savour be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
RSV : Can that which is tasteless be eaten without salt, or is there any taste in the slime of the purslane?
ASV : Can that which hath no savor be eaten without salt? Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
ESV : Can that which is tasteless be eaten without salt, or is there any taste in the juice of the mallow?
ERVEN : Food without salt does not taste good, and the white of an egg has no taste.

URV : میری رُوح کو اُنکے چھُونے سے بھی انکار ہے۔وہ میرے لئے مکُروہ غذا ہیں ۔
KJV : The things [that] my soul refused to touch [are] as my sorrowful meat.
YLT : My soul is refusing to touch! They [are] as my sickening food.
RV : My soul refuseth to touch {cf15i them}; they are as loathsome meat to me.
RSV : My appetite refuses to touch them; they are as food that is loathsome to me.
ASV : My soul refuseth to touch them; They are as loathsome food to me.
ESV : My appetite refuses to touch them; they are as food that is loathsome to me.
ERVEN : I refuse to touch that kind of food; it makes me sick!

URV : کاش کہ میری درخواست منظورہوتی اور خدا مجھے وہ چیز بخشتا جسکی مجھے آرزو ہے!
KJV : Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant [me] the thing that I long for!
YLT : O that my request may come, That God may grant my hope!
RV : Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant {cf15i me} the thing that I long for.
RSV : "O that I might have my request, and that God would grant my desire;

ERVEN : "I wish I could have what I ask for. I wish God would give me what I want.

URV : یعنی خدا کو یہی منظور ہوتا کہ مجھے کُچل ڈالے اور اپنا ہاتھ چلا کر مجھے کاٹ ڈالے !تو مجھے تسلّی ہوتی بلکہ میں نے اُس اٹل درد میں بھی شادمان رہتا کیو نکہ میں نے اُس قُدُّوس کی باتوں کا اِنکار نہیں کیا ۔
KJV : Even that it would please God to destroy me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!
YLT : That God would please -- and bruise me, Loose His hand and cut me off!
RV : Even that it would please God to crush me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!

KJV : Then should I yet have comfort; yea, I would harden myself in sorrow: let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One.
YLT : And yet it is my comfort, (And I exult in pain -- He doth not spare,) That I have not hidden The sayings of the Holy One.

URV : میری طاقت ہی کیا ہے جو میں ٹھہرا رہوُں ؟ اور میرا انجام ہی کیا ہے جو میں صبر کُروں ؟
KJV : What [is] my strength, that I should hope? and what [is] mine end, that I should prolong my life?
YLT : What [is] my power that I should hope? And what mine end That I should prolong my life?
RV : What is my strength, that I should wait? and what is mine end, at I should be patient?

ERVEN : "With my strength gone, I have no hope to go on living. With nothing to look forward to, why should I be patient?

URV : کیا میری طاقت پتھروں کی طاقت ہے ؟یا میرا جسم پیتل کا ہے؟
KJV : [Is] my strength the strength of stones? or [is] my flesh of brass?
YLT : Is my strength the strength of stones? Is my flesh brazen?
RV : Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of brass?
RSV : Is my strength the strength of stones, or is my flesh bronze?

ERVEN : I am not strong like a rock. My body is not made from bronze.

URV : کیا بات یہی نہیں کہ میں بے بس ہُوں اور کام کرنے کی قُوت مجھ سے جاتی رہی ہے؟
KJV : [Is] not my help in me? and is wisdom driven quite from me?
YLT : Is not my help with me, And substance driven from me?
RV : Is it not that I have no help in me, and that effectual working is driven quite from me?
RSV : In truth I have no help in me, and any resource is driven from me.
ASV : Is it not that I have no help in me, And that wisdom is driven quite from me?
ESV : Have I any help in me, when resource is driven from me?
ERVEN : I don't have the power to help myself, because all hope of success has been taken away from me.

URV : اُس پر جو بے دِل ہونے کو ہے اُسکے دوست کی طرف سے مہربانی ہونی چاہئے بلکہ اُس پر بھی جو قادِر مطلق کا خوف چھوڑ دیتا ہے ۔
KJV : To him that is afflicted pity [should be shewed] from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.
YLT : To a despiser of his friends [is] shame, And the fear of the Mighty he forsaketh.
RV : To him that is ready to faint kindness {cf15i should be shewed} from his friend; even to him that forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.
RSV : "He who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.

ERVEN : "Friends should be loyal to you in times of trouble, even if you turn away from God All-Powerful.

URV : میرے بھائیوں نے نالے کی طرح دغا کی ۔ اُن وادِیوں کے نالوں کی طرح جو سوکھ جاتے ہیں ۔
KJV : My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, [and] as the stream of brooks they pass away;
YLT : My brethren have deceived as a brook, As a stream of brooks they pass away.
RV : My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, as the channel of brooks that pass away;
RSV : My brethren are treacherous as a torrent-bed, as freshets that pass away,

ERVEN : But I cannot depend on you, my brothers. You are like a stream that has no water when the weather is dry but is flooded when the rains come.

URV : جو یخ کے سبب سے کالے ہیں اور جن میں برف چھپی ہے۔
KJV : Which are blackish by reason of the ice, [and] wherein the snow is hid:
YLT : That are black because of ice, By them doth snow hide itself.

RSV : which are dark with ice, and where the snow hides itself.

URV : جس وقت وہ گرم ہوتے ہیں تو غائب ہوجاتے ہیں اور جب گرمی پڑتی ہے تو اپنی جگہ سے اُڑجاتے ہیں ۔
KJV : What time they wax warm, they vanish: when it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
YLT : By the time they are warm they have been cut off, By its being hot they have been Extinguished from their place.
RV : What time they wax warm, they vanish: when it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
RSV : In time of heat they disappear; when it is hot, they vanish from their place.

URV : قافلے اپنے راستہ سے مُڑ جاتے ہیں اور بیابان میں جاکر ہلاک ہوجاتے ہیں ۔
KJV : The paths of their way are turned aside; they go to nothing, and perish.
YLT : Turn aside do the paths of their way, They ascend into emptiness, and are lost.
RV : The caravans {cf15i that travel} by the way of them turn aside; they go up into the waste, and perish.

URV : تیماؔ کے قافلے دیکھتے رہے ۔سباؔ کے کاروان اُنکے اِنتظار میں رہے ۔
KJV : The troops of Tema looked, the companies of Sheba waited for them.
YLT : Passengers of Tema looked expectingly, Travellers of Sheba hoped for them.
RV : The caravans of Tema looked, the companies of Sheba waited for them.
RSV : The caravans of Tema look, the travelers of Sheba hope.
ASV : The caravans of Tema looked, The companies of Sheba waited for them.
ESV : The caravans of Tema look, the travelers of Sheba hope.
ERVEN : Traders from Tema search for it. Travelers from Sheba hope to find it.

URV : وہ شر مندہ ہُوئے کیونکہ اُنہوں نے اُمید کی تھی ۔ وہ وہا ں آئے اور پشیمان ہوئے ۔
KJV : They were confounded because they had hoped; they came thither, and were ashamed.
YLT : They were ashamed that one hath trusted, They have come unto it and are confounded.

YLT : Surely now ye have become the same! Ye see a downfall, and are afraid.

URV : کیا میں نے کہا کچھ مجھے دو؟ یا اپنے مال میں میرے لئے رِشوت دو؟
KJV : Did I say, Bring unto me? or, Give a reward for me of your substance?
YLT : Is it because I said, Give to me? And, By your power bribe for me?
RV : Did I say, Give unto me? or, offer a present for me of your substance?
RSV : Have I said, `Make me a gift'? Or, `From your wealth offer a bribe for me'?
ASV : Did I say, Give unto me? Or, Offer a present for me of your substance?
ESV : Have I said, 'Make me a gift'? Or, 'From your wealth offer a bribe for me'?
ERVEN : But have I ever asked you to help me? Did I ask you to offer a bribe for me from your wealth?

URV : یا مخالف کے ہاتھ سے مجھے بچاؤ؟یا ظالموں کے ہاتھ سے مجھے چھُڑاؤ ؟
KJV : Or, Deliver me from the enemy’s hand? or, Redeem me from the hand of the mighty?
YLT : And, Deliver me from the hand of an adversary? And, From the hand of terrible ones ransom me?
RV : Or, Deliver me from the adversary-s hand? or, Redeem me from the hand of the oppressors?
RSV : Or, `Deliver me from the adversary's hand'? Or, `Ransom me from the hand of oppressors'?

URV : مجھے سمجھاؤ اور میں خاموش رہونگا اور مجھے سمجھاؤ کہ میں کس با ت میں چُوکا ۔
KJV : Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred.
YLT : Shew me, and I -- I keep silent, And what I have erred, let me understand.

KJV : How forcible are right words! but what doth your arguing reprove?
YLT : How powerful have been upright sayings, And what doth reproof from you reprove?
RV : How forcible are words of uprightness! but what doth your arguing reprove?
RSV : How forceful are honest words! But what does reproof from you reprove?
ASV : How forcible are words of uprightness! But your reproof, what doth it reprove?
ESV : How forceful are upright words! But what does reproof from you reprove?
ERVEN : Honest words are powerful, but your arguments prove nothing.

URV : کیا تم اِس خیال میں ہو کہ لفظوں کی تردید کرو؟ اِس لئے کہ مایوس کی باتیں ہوا کی طرح ہوتی ہیں ۔
KJV : Do ye imagine to reprove words, and the speeches of one that is desperate, [which are] as wind?
YLT : For reproof -- do you reckon words? And for wind -- sayings of the desperate.
RV : Do ye imagine to reprove words? seeing that the speeches of one that is desperate are as wind.
RSV : Do you think that you can reprove words, when the speech of a despairing man is wind?

URV : ہاں تم تو یتیموں پر قرعہ ڈالنے والے اور اپنے دوست کو سوداگری کا مال بنانے والے ہو ۔
KJV : Yea, ye overwhelm the fatherless, and ye dig [a pit] for your friend.
YLT : Anger on the fatherless ye cause to fall, And are strange to your friend.
RV : Yea, ye would cast {cf15i lots} upon the fatherless, and make merchandise of your friend.
RSV : You would even cast lots over the fatherless, and bargain over your friend.
ASV : Yea, ye would cast lots upon the fatherless, And make merchandise of your friend.

ERVEN : Are you the kind of people who would gamble for orphans and sell out your own friends?

URV : اِس لئے ذرا میری طرف نگاہ کروکیو نکہ تمہارے منہ پر میں ہر گز جھوٹ نہ بولُونگا ۔
KJV : Now therefore be content, look upon me; for [it is] evident unto you if I lie.
YLT : And, now, please, look upon me, Even to your face do I lie?
RV : Now therefore be pleased to look upon me; for surely I shall not lie to your face.

URV : میں تمہاری منّت کرتا ہوں ۔باز آؤ ۔ بے انصافی نہ کرو ۔ہاں با ز آؤ۔ میں حق پر ہوں ۔
KJV : Return, I pray you, let it not be iniquity; yea, return again, my righteousness [is] in it.
YLT : Turn back, I pray you, let it not be perverseness, Yea, turn back again -- my righteousness [is] in it.
RV : Return, I pray you, let there be no injustice; yea, return again, my cause is righteous.
RSV : Turn, I pray, let no wrong be done. Turn now, my vindication is at stake.

ERVEN : You need to start over and stop being so unfair! Think again, because I am innocent.

URV : کیا میری زبان پر بے انصافی ہے ؟ کیا فتنہ انگیز ی کی باتوں کے پہچاننے کا مجھے شعور نہیں ؟
KJV : Is there iniquity in my tongue? cannot my taste discern perverse things?
YLT : Is there in my tongue perverseness? Discerneth not my palate desirable things?
RV : Is there injustice on my tongue? cannot my taste discern mischievous things?
RSV : Is there any wrong on my tongue? Cannot my taste discern calamity?
ASV : Is there injustice on my tongue? Cannot my taste discern mischievous things?
ESV : Is there any injustice on my tongue? Cannot my palate discern the cause of calamity?
ERVEN : I am not lying. I know right from wrong.
