ਜਦ ਅਬਦ-ਮਲਕ ਕੂਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਖੁਸਰਾ ਸੀ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਹਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ

Now when Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin;

But a man named Ebed Melech heard that the officials had put Jeremiah into the cistern. Ebed Melech was from Ethiopia, and he was a eunuch in the king's palace. King Zedekiah was sitting at the Benjamin Gate, so Ebed Melech left the king's palace and went to talk to the king at the gate.
