ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸਿਦਕੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਕੈਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਭਈ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਅਗੰਮ ਵਾਕ ਵਾਚਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਐਉਂ ਫ਼ਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਵੋਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਏਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਲਵੇਗਾ?

For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;

(King Zedekiah of Judah had put Jeremiah in prison in that place. Zedekiah didn't like the things Jeremiah prophesied. Jeremiah had said, "This is what the Lord says: 'I will soon give the city of Jerusalem to the king of Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar will capture this city.
