HOV मैं ने इस्राएल को ऐसा पाया जैसे कोई जंगल में दाख पाए; और तुम्हारे पुरखाओं पर ऐसे दृष्टि की जैसे अंजीर के पहिले फलों पर दृष्टि की जाती है। परन्तु उन्होंने पोर के बाल के पास जा कर अपने तईं लज्जा का कारण होने के लिये अर्पण कर दिया, और जिस पर मोहित हो गए थे, वे उसी के समान घिनौने हो गए।
KJV I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: [but] they went to Baal-peor, and separated themselves unto [that] shame; and [their] abominations were according as they loved.
YLT As grapes in a wilderness I found Israel, As the first-fruit in a fig-tree, at its beginning, I have seen your fathers, They -- they have gone in [to] Baal-Peor, And are separated to a shameful thing, And are become abominable like their love.

But when they came to Baal-Peor, they changed. So I had to cut them off like rotten fruit. They became like the terrible things that they loved.
