“‘কিন্তু ঐ সন্তানরা আমার বিরুদ্ধাচরণ করল| তারা আমার বিধি পালন ও আদেশ রক্ষা করল না| আমি তাদের যা বলেছি তারা তা করেনি| ঐসব বিধি মঙ্গলের জন্য| যদি কোন ব্যক্তি তা পালন করে সে বাঁচবে| তারা আমার বিশ্রামের বিশেষ দিনকে কোন গুরুত্বই দেয়নি| তাই আমি তাদের মরুভূমিতে সম্পূর্ণরূপে ধ্বংস করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছিলাম যেন তারা আমার রোধর পূর্ণ মাত্রা বুঝতে পারে|

Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which [if] a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
