ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರೇಲರಿಗೆ ದಯಾಪರನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಯೆಹೋವನು ಕರುಣೆಯಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರೇಲರಿಗೆ ಅಭಿಮುಖನಾದನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆತನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇಸಾಕನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಯಾಕೋಬನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರೇಲರನ್ನು ನಾಶಗೊಳಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
