আমরা আবার তোমাদের কাছে নিজেদেরকে য়োগ্য পাত্র বলে প্রমাণ দিতে চাইছি না, কিন্তু আমাদের জন্য গর্ব করার সুয়োগ তোমাদের দিচ্ছি; উদ্দেশ্য এইযাঁরা কোন ব্যক্তির হৃদয়ের কথা বিবেচনা না করে দৃশ্যমান বিষয়গুলি নিয়ে গর্ব করে, এইসব লোকদের য়েন তোমরা উচিত জবাব দিতে পার৷

For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to [answer] them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.
