ইতিমধ্যে, একজন সেনা তার ধনুক থেকে একটা তীর লক্ষ্যহীনভাবে ছুঁড়েছিল এবং সেই তীরটা ইস্রায়েলের রাজা আহাবের গায়ে গিয়ে বিঁধলো| তীরটা তাঁর শরীরের এমন জায়গায় বিঁধল যেখানটা বক্ষত্রাণ দিয়ে ঢাকা ছিল না| আহাব তাঁর রথের সারথীকে বললেন, “রথের মুখ ঘোরাও এবং আমাকে যুদ্ধ থেকে সরিয়ে নিয়ে যাও| আমি আহত|”

And a [certain] man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thine hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
