ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಲಾಕೀ ಷನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹಿಂತಿರಿಗಿ ಹೋಗು; ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊರಿಸುವದನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಾಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ದನು. ಆಗ ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ ಮುನ್ನೂರು ತಲಾಂತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನೂ ಮೂವತ್ತು ತಲಾಂತು ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡಲು ನೇಮಕ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
