আসা ওবেদের এইসব কথা শুনে খুবই অনুপ্রাণিত বোধ করলেন| তিনি যিহূদার ও বিন্যামীনের সমগ্র অঞ্চল থেকে ও তাঁর দখল করা ইফ্রয়িমের পার্বত্য অঞ্চলের সমস্ত শহরগুলি থেকে যাবতীয় ঘৃণ্য মূর্ত্তিগুলি সরিয়ে দিলেন| প্রভুর মন্দিরের দালানের সামনের প্রভুর বেদীটিও তিনি মেরামত্ করলেন|

And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that [was] before the porch of the LORD.

Asa felt encouraged when he heard these words and the message from Obed the prophet. Then he removed the hated idols from the whole area of Judah and Benjamin. He also removed the hated idols from the towns he had captured in the hill country of Ephraim. And he repaired the Lord's altar that was in front of the porch of the Lord's Temple.
