ಹೀಗೆ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರು ಮೂವತ್ತೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ರಥಗಳಿಂದ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಸಜ್ಜಾದರು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಾಕಾದ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಅವನ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿದರು. ಮಾಕದ ಅರಸನೂ ಅವನ ಸೈನಿಕರೂ ಬಂದು ಮೇದೆಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಳಿ ಪಾಳೆಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಇತ್ತ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯರೂ ಯುದ್ಧಸನ್ನದ್ಧರಾದರು.
