ଅରାମୀଯ ଲୋକମାନେ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏକତ୍ର ହେଉଅଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ଦାଉଦ ଶୁଣିଲେ। ତେଣୁ ଦାଉଦ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଏକତ୍ର କଲେ। ଦାଉଦ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ୟର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ନଦୀ ପାର କରାଇ ନେଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଅରାମୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସମ୍ମୁଖାସମ୍ମୁଖୀ ହେଲେ। ଦାଉଦ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ ନିମନ୍ତେ ନିଜ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳକୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କଲେ ଓ ସମାନେେ ଅରାମୀଯମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆକ୍ରମଣ କଲେ।

And it was told David; and he gathered all Israel, and passed over Jordan, and came upon them, and set [the battle] in array against them. So when David had put the battle in array against the Syrians, they fought with him.
