BNV : ইফ্রয়িমের লোকরা গিদিয়োনের উপর রেগে গেল| গিদিয়োনকে দেখতে পেয়ে তারা জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “আমাদের সঙ্গে কেন তুমি এমন ব্যবহার করবে? মিদিয়নদের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করতে যাবার সময় কেন তুমি আমাদের ডাকো নি?”
KJV : And the men of Ephraim said unto him, Why hast thou served us thus, that thou calledst us not, when thou wentest to fight with the Midianites? And they did chide with him sharply.
YLT : And the men of Ephraim say unto him, `What [is] this thing thou hast done to us -- not to call for us when thou didst go to fight with Midian?` and they strive with him severely;

ESV : Then the men of Ephraim said to him, "What is this that you have done to us, not to call us when you went to fight with Midian?" And they accused him fiercely.
ERVEN : The men of Ephraim were angry with Gideon. When they found him, they asked, "Why did you treat us this way? Why didn't you call us when you went to fight against the Midianites?"

BNV : গিদিয়োন বললেন, “দেখো তোমরা যা করেছ আমি তা করতে পারি নি| আমার অবীযেষরের গোষ্ঠী যত ফসল তুলেছে, তোমরা ইফ্রয়িমরা তার চেয়ে অনেক বেশী ফসল তুলেছ| ফসল তোলার সময় ক্ষেতে তোমরা যত দ্রাক্ষা ফেলে রেখে যাও, আমার লোকরা তার চেয়ে কম কুড়ায| ঠিক কি না?
KJV : And he said unto them, What have I done now in comparison of you? [Is] not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abi-ezer?
YLT : and he saith unto them, `What have I done now like you? are not the gleanings of Ephraim better than the harvest of Abi-Ezer?
RV : And he said unto them, What have I now done in comparison of you? Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abiezer?
RSV : And he said to them, "What have I done now in comparison with you? Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abiezer?

ESV : And he said to them, "What have I done now in comparison with you? Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the grape harvest of Abiezer?
ERVEN : But Gideon answered the men of Ephraim, "I have not done as well as you. You people of Ephraim have a much better harvest than my family, the Abiezers. At harvest time you leave more grapes in the vineyard than my family gathers! Isn't that true?

BNV : একই ভাবে তোমাদের ফসল এখন দারুণ ভালো হয়েছে| ঈশ্বরই তোমাদের হাতে মিদিয়ন নেতা ওরেব আর সেবকে পরাজিত করতে দিয়েছেন| তোমাদের কর্ম সাফল্যের সঙ্গে আমার সাফল্যের কি কোনো তুলনা চলে?” গিদিয়োনের উত্তর শুনে ইফ্রয়িমের লোকদের রাগ পডে গেল|
KJV : God hath delivered into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison of you? Then their anger was abated toward him, when he had said that.
YLT : Into your hand hath God given the heads of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb; and what have I been able to do like you?` Then their temper desisted from off him in his speaking this thing.
RV : God hath delivered into your hand the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison of you? Then their anger was abated toward him, when he had said that.

ESV : God has given into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb. What have I been able to do in comparison with you?" Then their anger against him subsided when he said this.
ERVEN : In the same way you have a better harvest now. God allowed you to capture Oreb and Zeeb, the leaders of Midian. How can I compare my success with what you did?" When the men of Ephraim heard Gideon's answer, they were not as angry as they had been.

BNV : গিদিয়োন সুক্কোত্‌ শহরের অধিবাসীদের বললেন, “আমার সৈন্যদের তোমরা কিছু খেতে দাও| ওরা খুব পরিশ্রান্ত| আমরা এখনও মিদিয়নদের রাজা সেরহ আর সলমুন্নকে ধরতে পারি নি|”
KJV : And he said unto the men of Succoth, Give, I pray you, loaves of bread unto the people that follow me; for they [be] faint, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian.
YLT : and he saith to the men of Succoth, `Give, I pray you, cakes of bread to the people who [are] at my feet, for they [are] wearied, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna kings of Midian.`
RV : And he said unto the men of Succoth, Give, I pray you, loaves of bread unto the people that follow me; for they be faint, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian.
RSV : So he said to the men of Succoth, "Pray, give loaves of bread to the people who follow me; for they are faint, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian."

ESV : So he said to the men of Succoth, "Please give loaves of bread to the people who follow me, for they are exhausted, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian."
ERVEN : Gideon said to the men of the city of Succoth, "Give my soldiers something to eat. They are very tired. We are still chasing Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian."

BNV : সুক্কোতের নেতারা বলল, “কেন আমরা তোমার সৈন্যদের খাওয়াব? তোমরা তো এখনও সেবহ আর সলমুন্নকে ধরতে পারো নি|”

ERVEN : But the leaders of the city of Succoth said to Gideon, "Why should we give your soldiers something to eat? You haven't caught Zebah and Zalmunna yet."

BNV : তখন গিদিয়োন বললেন, “তোমরা আমাদের খাবার দিও না| সেবহ আর সলমুন্নকে ধরবার জন্য প্রভু বয়ং আমাদের সাহায্য করবেন| তারপর আমরা ফিরে এসে মরুভূমির কাঁটাঝোপ দিয়ে তোমাদের ছাল ছাড়াব|”
KJV : And Gideon said, Therefore when the LORD hath delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into mine hand, then I will tear your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers.
YLT : And Gideon saith, `Therefore -- in Jehovah`s giving Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand -- I have threshed your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness, and with the threshing instruments.`
RV : And Gideon said: Therefore when the LORD hath delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into mine hand, then I will tear your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers.
RSV : And Gideon said, "Well then, when the LORD has given Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand, I will flail your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers."

ESV : So Gideon said, "Well then, when the LORD has given Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand, I will flail your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers."
ERVEN : Then Gideon said, "The Lord will help me capture Zebah and Zalmunna. And since you would not give us any food, I will come back and beat you with thorns and briers from the desert."

BNV : সুক্কোত্‌ শহর থেকে বেরিয়ে গিদিয়োন চলে গেল পনুযেল শহরে| সুক্কোতবাসীদের কাছে সে যেমন খাদ্য চেয়েছিল তেমনি পনূযেলবাসীদের কাছেও খাদ্য চাইল| তারাও সুক্কোতের লোকদের মতো একই কথা বলল|

ERVEN : Gideon left the city of Succoth and went to the city of Penuel. He asked the men of Penuel for food, just as he had asked the men of Succoth. But the men of Penuel gave Gideon the same answer that the men of Succoth had given.

KJV : Now Zebah and Zalmunna [were] in Karkor, and their hosts with them, about fifteen thousand [men,] all that were left of all the hosts of the children of the east: for there fell an hundred and twenty thousand men that drew sword.

ERVEN : Zebah and Zalmunna and their army were in the city of Karkor. Their army had 15,000 soldiers in it. These soldiers were all who were left of the army of the people of the east. 120,000 strong soldiers of that army had already been killed.

BNV : গিদিয়োন সদলবলে তাঁবুবাসীদের রাস্তা ধরলেন| রাস্তাটা নোবহ আর য়গবিহ শহরের পূর্বদিকে| কর্কোর শহরে এসে গিদিয়োন শত্রুদের আক্রমণ করলেন| শত্রুরা এই ধরণের আক্রমণের কথা ভাবতেই পারে নি|
KJV : And Gideon went up by the way of them that dwelt in tents on the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and smote the host: for the host was secure.
YLT : And Gideon goeth up the way of those who tabernacle in tents, on the east of Nobah and Jogbehah, and smiteth the camp, and the camp was confident;

ERVEN : Gideon and his men used Tent Dwellers' Road, which is east of the cities of Nobah and Jogbehah and attacked the enemy at Karkor. The enemy army did not expect the attack.

BNV : মিদিয়নদের দুই রাজা সেবহ আর সল্মুন্ন পালিয়ে গেল| কিন্তু গিদিয়োন ঠিক তাদের ধরে ফেললেন| তাঁর সৈন্যরা শত্রু সৈন্যদের পরাজিত করল|

ERVEN : Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of the Midianites, ran away. But Gideon chased and caught them. Gideon and his men defeated the enemy army.

BNV : সুক্কোত্‌ শহর থেকে একটি যুবককে গিদিয়োন ধরে এনেছিলেন| যুবকটিকে সে কিছু জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করতে যুবকটি সুক্কোত্‌ শহরের দলপতি আর প্রবীণ লোকদের মিলিযে মোট 77 জনের নাম লিখে দিল|
KJV : And caught a young man of the men of Succoth, and enquired of him: and he described unto him the princes of Succoth, and the elders thereof, [even] threescore and seventeen men.
YLT : and captureth a young man of the men of Succoth, and asketh him, and he describeth unto him the heads of Succoth, and its elders -- seventy and seven men.

ERVEN : Gideon captured a young man from the city of Succoth. He asked the young man some questions. The young man wrote down some names for Gideon. The young man wrote down the names of the leaders and elders of the city of Succoth. He gave Gideon the names of 77 men.

BNV : অতঃপর গিদিয়োন সুক্কোত্‌ শহরে ফিরে এলেন| সেখানকার অধিবাসীদের কাছে এসে বললেন, “এই দেখো সেবহ আর সল্মুন্ন| তোমরা আমায় নিয়ে ঠাট্টা তামাশা করে বলেছিলে, ‘কেন আমরা তোমার সৈন্যদের খেতে দেব? তোমরা তো সেবহ আর সল্মুন্নকে ধরতে পার নি|”
KJV : And he came unto the men of Succoth, and said, Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, with whom ye did upbraid me, saying, [Are] the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thine hand, that we should give bread unto thy men [that are] weary?
YLT : And he cometh in unto the men of Succoth, and saith, `Lo Zebah and Zalmunna, with whom ye reproached me, saying, Is the hand of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thy hand that we give to thy men who [are] wearied bread?`

RSV : And he came to the men of Succoth, and said, "Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, about whom you taunted me, saying, `Are Zebah and Zalmunna already in your hand, that we should give bread to your men who are faint?'"
ASV : And he came unto the men of Succoth, and said, Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, concerning whom ye did taunt me, saying, Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in thy hand, that we should give bread unto thy men that are weary?
ESV : And he came to the men of Succoth and said, "Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, about whom you taunted me, saying, 'Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna already in your hand, that we should give bread to your men who are exhausted?'"
ERVEN : When Gideon came to the city of Succoth, he said to the men of that city, "Here are Zebah and Zalmunna. You made fun of me by saying, 'Why should we give food to your tired soldiers? You have not caught Zebah and Zalmunna yet.'"

BNV : গিদিয়োন পনূযেল শহরের মিনার ভেঙ্গে ফেললেন| তারপর তিনি সেই শহরের নাগরিকদের হত্যা করলেন|
KJV : And he beat down the tower of Penuel, and slew the men of the city.

BNV : সেবহ ও সল্মুন্নকে গিদিয়োন বললেন, “তাবোর পর্বতে কয়েক জনকে তোমরা হত্যা করেছিলে| তাদের কেমন দেখতে?”তারা বলল, “তোমার মতই দেখতে| প্রত্যেকের চেহারাই ছিল রাজপুরুষের মতো|”
KJV : Then said he unto Zebah and Zalmunna, What manner of men [were they] whom ye slew at Tabor? And they answered, As thou [art,] so [were] they; each one resembled the children of a king.
YLT : And he saith unto Zebah and unto Zalmunna, `How -- the men whom ye slew in Tabor?` and they say, `As thou -- so they, one -- as the form of the king`s sons.`
RV : Then said he unto Zebah and Zalmunna, What manner of men were they whom ye slew at Tabor? And they answered, As thou art, so were they; each one resembled the children of a king.
RSV : Then he said to Zebah and Zalmunna, "Where are the men whom you slew at Tabor?" They answered, "As you are, so were they, every one of them; they resembled the sons of a king."

ESV : Then he said to Zebah and Zalmunna, "Where are the men whom you killed at Tabor?" They answered, "As you are, so were they. Every one of them resembled the son of a king."
ERVEN : Then Gideon said to Zebah and Zalmunna, "You killed some men on Mount Tabor. What were the men like?" Zebah and Zalmunna answered, "They were like you. Each one of them seemed like a prince."

BNV : গিদিয়োন বললেন, “ওরা আমার ভাই ছিল, আমার সহোদর ভাই| তাদের তোমরা মেরে না ফেললে আমি আজ তোমাদের হত্যা করতে চাইতাম না|”
KJV : And he said, They [were] my brethren, [even] the sons of my mother: [as] the LORD liveth, if ye had saved them alive, I would not slay you.
YLT : And he saith, `My brethren -- sons of my mother -- they; Jehovah liveth, if ye had kept them alive -- I had not slain you.`

They also gave him jewelry shaped like the moon and jewelry shaped like teardrops. And they gave him purple robes. The kings of the Midianites had worn these things. They also gave him the chains from the camels of the Midianite kings.

ERVEN : Gideon used the gold to make an ephod, which he put in his hometown, the town called Ophrah. All the Israelites worshiped the ephod. In this way the Israelites were not faithful to God—they worshiped the ephod. The ephod became a trap that caused Gideon and his family to sin.
