BNV : গিলিয়দ পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর একজন হচ্ছে যিপ্তহ| সে খুব শক্তিশালী য়োদ্ধা| কিন্তু সে গণিকার পুত্র| তার পিতার নাম ছিল গিলিয়দ|
KJV : Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he [was] the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah.
YLT : And Jephthah the Gileadite hath been a mighty man of valour, and he [is] son of a woman, a harlot; and Gilead begetteth Jephthah,
RV : Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah.
RSV : Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty warrior, but he was the son of a harlot. Gilead was the father of Jephthah.

ERVEN : Jephthah was from the tribe of Gilead. He was a strong soldier. But Jephthah was the son of a prostitute. His father was a man named Gilead.

BNV : গিলিয়দের নিজের স্ত্রীর অনেকগুলো পুত্র| পুত্ররা বড় হয়ে যিপ্তহকে দেখতে পারত না| তারা তাকে শহর ছাড়া করল| তারা যিপ্তহকে বলল, “তুমি আমাদের পৈতৃক সম্পত্তির এক কানাকড়িও পাবে না, কারণ তুমি আমাদের মাযের পেটের ভাই নও| তুমি অন্য নারীর সন্তান|”
KJV : And Gilead’s wife bare him sons; and his wife’s sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father’s house; for thou [art] the son of a strange woman.
YLT : and the wife of Gilead beareth to him sons, and the wife`s sons grow up and cast out Jephthah, and say to him, `Thou dost not inherit in the house of our father; for son of another woman [art] thou.`
RV : And Gilead-s wife bare him sons; and when his wife-s sons grew up, they drave out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father-s house; for thou art the son of another woman.
RSV : And Gilead's wife also bore him sons; and when his wife's sons grew up, they thrust Jephthah out, and said to him, "You shall not inherit in our father's house; for you are the son of another woman."
ASV : And Gileads wife bare him sons; and when his wifes sons grew up, they drove out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our fathers house; for thou art the son of another woman.
ESV : And Gilead's wife also bore him sons. And when his wife's sons grew up, they drove Jephthah out and said to him, "You shall not have an inheritance in our father's house, for you are the son of another woman."
ERVEN : Gilead's wife had several sons. When they grew up, they did not like Jephthah. They forced Jephthah to leave his hometown. They said to him, "You will not get any of our father's property. You are the son of another woman."

BNV : ভাইদের কথায় যিপ্তহ শহর ছেড়ে চলে গেল| সে টোব দেশে বাস করত| টোবে কিছু শক্তিশালী লোক যিপ্তহকে অনুসরণ করতে লাগল|
KJV : Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him.
YLT : And Jephthah fleeth from the face of his brethren, and dwelleth in the land of Tob; and vain men gather themselves together unto Jephthah, and they go out with him.
RV : Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain fellows to Jephthah, and they went out with him.

ERVEN : So Jephthah went away because of his brothers and lived in the land of Tob. In the land of Tob, some rough men began to follow Jephthah.

BNV : কিছুদিন পরে অম্মোনরা ইস্রায়েলীয়দের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ চালাতে লাগল|
KJV : And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, after a time, that the Bene-Ammon fight with Israel,
RV : And it came to pass after a while, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel.
RSV : After a time the Ammonites made war against Israel.
ASV : And it came to pass after a while, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel.
ESV : After a time the Ammonites made war against Israel.
ERVEN : After a time the Ammonites fought with the Israelites.

BNV : গিলিয়দের নেতারা য়িপ্তহের কাছে গেল তাকে ফিরে আসার জন্য অনুনয় করতে| তারা যিপ্তহকে টোব ছেড়ে গিলিয়দে ফিরে আসতে বলল|
KJV : And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:
YLT : and it cometh to pass, when the Bene-Ammon have fought with Israel, that the elders of Gilead go to take Jephthah from the land of Tob;
RV : And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:
RSV : And when the Ammonites made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to bring Jephthah from the land of Tob;

ERVEN : The Ammonites were fighting against Israel, so the elders in Gilead went to Jephthah. They wanted Jephthah to leave the land of Tob and come back to Gilead.

BNV : নেতারা যিপ্তহকে বলল, “তুমি আমাদের কাছে এসে আমাদের নেতা হও| তোমার নেতৃত্বে আমরা অম্মোনদের সঙ্গে লড়াই করবো|”
KJV : And they said unto Jephthah, Come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.
YLT : and they say unto Jephthah, `Come, and thou hast been to us for captain, and we fight against the Bene-Ammon.`
RV : and they said unto Jephthah, Come and be our chief, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.
RSV : and they said to Jephthah, "Come and be our leader, that we may fight with the Ammonites."

ERVEN : The elders said to Jephthah, "Come and be our leader so that we can fight the Ammonites."

BNV : যিপ্তহ তাদের বলল, “তোমরাই তো আমাকে ভিটেছাড়া করেছিলে| তোমরা তো আমায় ঘৃণা কর| তাহলে এখন কেন আবার বিপদে পড়েছো বলে আমার কাছে এসেছ?”
KJV : And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father’s house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress?
YLT : And Jephthah saith to the elders of Gilead, `Have not ye hated me? and ye cast me out from the house of my father, and wherefore have ye come unto me now when ye are in distress?`
RV : And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and drive me out of my father-s house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress?
RSV : But Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "Did you not hate me, and drive me out of my father's house? Why have you come to me now when you are in trouble?"
ASV : And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and drive me out of my fathers house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress?
ESV : But Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "Did you not hate me and drive me out of my father's house? Why have you come to me now when you are in distress?"
ERVEN : But Jephthah said to the elders of the land of Gilead, "You forced me to leave my father's house. You hate me. So why are you coming to me now that you are having trouble?"

BNV : তারা বলল, “এই কারণেই আমরা তোমার কাছে এসেছি| দয়া করো| আমাদের মধ্যে তুমি এসো, অম্মোনদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ চালাও| তুমিই গিলিয়দের অধিবাসীদের সেনাপতি হবে|”
KJV : And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
YLT : and the elders of Gilead say unto Jephthah, `Therefore, now, we have turned back unto thee; and thou hast gone with us, and fought against the Bene-Ammon, and thou hast been to us for head -- to all the inhabitants of Gilead.`
RV : And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore are we turned again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight with the children of Ammon, and thou shalt be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
RSV : And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "That is why we have turned to you now, that you may go with us and fight with the Ammonites, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."
ASV : And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore are we turned again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight with the children of Ammon; and thou shalt be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
ESV : And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "That is why we have turned to you now, that you may go with us and fight with the Ammonites and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead."
ERVEN : The elders from Gilead said to Jephthah, "That is the reason we have come to you now. Please come with us and fight against the Ammonites. You will be the commander over all the people living in Gilead."

BNV : যিপ্তহ বলল, “বেশ, যদি তোমরা চাও যে আমি গিলিয়দে ফিরে আসি এবং অম্মোনীয়দের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করি ভালো কথা| প্রভুর সহায়তায যদি আমি জিতি তাহলে আমিই হবো তোমাদের নতুন নেতা|”
KJV : And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head?
YLT : And Jephthah saith unto the elders of Gilead, `If ye are taking me back to fight against the Bene-Ammon, and Jehovah hath given them before me -- I, am I to you for a head?`
RV : And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight with the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head?
RSV : Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "If you bring me home again to fight with the Ammonites, and the LORD gives them over to me, I will be your head."
ASV : And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight with the children of Ammon, and Jehovah deliver them before me, shall I be your head?
ESV : Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, "If you bring me home again to fight with the Ammonites, and the LORD gives them over to me, I will be your head."
ERVEN : Then Jephthah said to the elders from Gilead, "If you want me to come back to Gilead and fight the Ammonites, that is fine. But if the Lord helps me win, I will be your new leader."

BNV : গিলিয়দের নেতারা বলল, “আমরা যে সব কথা বলেছি প্রভু সবই শুনছেন| আমরা প্রতিশ্রুতি দিচ্ছি, তুমি যা করতে বলবে আমরা তাই করব|”
KJV : And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The LORD be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words.
YLT : And the elders of Gilead say unto Jephthah, `Jehovah is hearkening between us -- if according to thy word we do not so.`
RV : And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The LORD shall be witness between us; surely according to thy word so will we do.
RSV : And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "The LORD will be witness between us; we will surely do as you say."
ASV : And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Jehovah shall be witness between us; surely according to thy word so will we do.
ESV : And the elders of Gilead said to Jephthah, "The LORD will be witness between us, if we do not do as you say."
ERVEN : The elders from Gilead said to Jephthah, "The Lord is listening to everything we are saying. And we promise to do everything you tell us to do."

BNV : অগত্যা যিপ্তহ তাদের সঙ্গে চলে গেল| তারা যিপ্তহকে তাদের নেতা ও সেনাপতি করে দিলে মিস্পা শহরে প্রভুর সামনে যিপ্তহ আর একবার তার কথাগুলো শুনিয়ে দিল|
KJV : Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the LORD in Mizpeh.
YLT : And Jephthah goeth with the elders of Gilead, and the people set him over them for head and for captain, and Jephthah speaketh all his words before Jehovah in Mizpeh.
RV : Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and chief over them: and Jephthah spake all his words before the LORD in Mizpah.

ERVEN : So Jephthah went with the elders from Gilead, and the people made him their leader and commander. Jephthah repeated all of his words in front of the Lord at the city of Mizpah.

BNV : অম্মোনদের রাজার কাছে যিপ্তহ কয়েকজন বার্তাবাহক পাঠাল| বার্তাবাহকরা রাজার কাছে এই বার্তা শোনাল, “অম্মোনবাসী আর ইস্রায়েলীয়দের মধ্যে সমস্যাটা কি? কেন তোমরা আমাদের দেশে যুদ্ধ করতে এসেছ?”
KJV : And Jephthah sent messengers unto the king of the children of Ammon, saying, What hast thou to do with me, that thou art come against me to fight in my land?
YLT : And Jephthah sendeth messengers unto the king of the Bene-Ammon, saying, `What -- to me and to thee, that thou hast come in unto me, to fight in my land.`
RV : And Jephthah sent messengers unto the king of the children of Ammon, saying, What hast thou to do with me, that thou art come unto me to fight against my land?
RSV : Then Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the Ammonites and said, "What have you against me, that you have come to me to fight against my land?"
ASV : And Jephthah sent messengers unto the king of the children of Ammon, saying, What hast thou to do with me, that thou art come unto me to fight against my land?
ESV : Then Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the Ammonites and said, "What do you have against me, that you have come to me to fight against my land?"
ERVEN : Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the Ammonites with this message: "What is the problem between the Ammonites and the Israelites? Why have you come to fight in our land?"

BNV : রাজা তাদের বলল, “ইস্রায়েলের সঙ্গে আমাদের লড়াই জারি রযেছে কারণ ওরা মিশর থেকে চলে আসার সময় আমাদের সমস্ত জমিজায়গা কেড়ে নিয়েছে| অর্ণোন নদী থেকে য়ব্বোক নদী এবং যর্দন নদী পর্য়ন্ত আমাদের যত জমি আছে, সব ওরা নিয়ে নিয়েছে| এখন যাও ইস্রায়েলীয়দের গিয়ে বলো, “আমাদের জায়গাগুলো যেন কোনো ঝামেলা না করে ফিরিযে দেয|”
KJV : And the king of the children of Ammon answered unto the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when they came up out of Egypt, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and unto Jordan: now therefore restore those [lands] again peaceably.
YLT : And the king of the Bene-Ammon saith unto the messengers of Jephthah, `Because Israel took my land in his coming up out of Egypt, from Arnon, and unto the Jabbok, and unto the Jordan; and now, restore them in peace.`
RV : And the king of the children of Ammon answered unto the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when he came up out of Egypt, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and unto Jordan: now therefore restore those {cf15i lands} again peaceably.
RSV : And the king of the Ammonites answered the messengers of Jephthah, "Because Israel on coming from Egypt took away my land, from the Arnon to the Jabbok and to the Jordan; now therefore restore it peaceably."
ASV : And the king of the children of Ammon answered unto the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when he came up out of Egypt, from the Arnon even unto the Jabbok, and unto the Jordan: now therefore restore those lands again peaceably.
ESV : And the king of the Ammonites answered the messengers of Jephthah, "Because Israel on coming up from Egypt took away my land, from the Arnon to the Jabbok and to the Jordan; now therefore restore it peaceably."
ERVEN : The king of the Ammonites said to the messengers of Jephthah, "We are fighting Israel because the Israelites took our land when they came up from Egypt. They took our land from the Arnon River to the Jabbok River to the Jordan River. Now, tell the Israelites to give our land back to us without fighting for it."

BNV : দূতরা যিপ্তহর কাছে এই কথা শোনাল| তারপর যিপ্তহ আবার তাদের অম্মোনদের রাজার কাছে পাঠাল|
KJV : And Jephthah sent messengers again unto the king of the children of Ammon:
YLT : And Jephthah addeth yet and sendeth messengers unto the king of the Bene-Ammon,
RV : And Jephthah sent messengers again unto the king of the children of Ammon:
RSV : And Jephthah sent messengers again to the king of the Ammonites
ASV : And Jephthah sent messengers again unto the king of the children of Ammon;
ESV : Jephthah again sent messengers to the king of the Ammonites
ERVEN : So the messengers of Jephthah took this message back to Jephthah. Then Jephthah sent the messengers to the king of the Ammonites again.

BNV : তারা যে বার্তা নিয়ে গেল তা এরকম:যিপ্তহ এই কথা বলেন: ইস্রায়েল মোযাব বা অম্মোনদের কোন জায়গা নেযনি|
KJV : And said unto him, Thus saith Jephthah, Israel took not away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon:
YLT : and saith to him, `Thus said Jephthah, Israel took not the land of Moab, and the land of the Bene-Ammon,
RV : and he said unto him, Thus saith Jephthah: Israel took not away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon:
RSV : and said to him, "Thus says Jephthah: Israel did not take away the land of Moab or the land of the Ammonites,
ASV : and he said unto him, Thus saith Jephthah: Israel took not away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon,
ESV : and said to him, "Thus says Jephthah: Israel did not take away the land of Moab or the land of the Ammonites,
ERVEN : They took this message: "This is what Jephthah says: Israel did not take the land of the Moabites or the land of the Ammonites.

BNV : ইস্রায়েলীয়রা যখন মিশর থেকে চলে আসে তখন তারা মরুভূমিতে ছিল| সেখান থেকে গেল লোহিত সাগরে| তারপর কাদেশে|
KJV : But when Israel came up from Egypt, and walked through the wilderness unto the Red sea, and came to Kadesh;
YLT : for in their coming up out of Egypt, Israel goeth in the wilderness unto the Red Sea, and cometh in to Kadesh,
RV : but when they came up from Egypt, and Israel walked through the wilderness unto the Red Sea, and came to Kadesh;
RSV : but when they came up from Egypt, Israel went through the wilderness to the Red Sea and came to Kadesh.

ERVEN : When the Israelites came out of the land of Egypt, they went into the desert. They went to the Red Sea. Then they went to Kadesh.

BNV : ইস্রায়েলীয়রা ইদোমের রাজার কাছে দূত পাঠাল| দূতরা সাহায্য চাইল| তারা বলল, “ইস্রায়েলীয়দের তোমাদের দেশের ওপর দিয়ে যেতে দাও|” কিন্তু ইদোমের রাজা আমাদের যেতে দিল না| মোয়াবের রাজার কাছেও আমরা একই রকম বার্তা পাঠালাম| সেও তার দেশের ওপর দিয়ে আমাদের যেতে দিল না| অগত্যা ইস্রায়েলীয়রা কাদেশেই থেকে গেল|
KJV : Then Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land: but the king of Edom would not hearken [thereto.] And in like manner they sent unto the king of Moab: but he would not [consent:] and Israel abode in Kadesh.
YLT : and Israel sendeth messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me pass over, I pray thee, through thy land, and the king of Edom hearkened not; and also unto the king of Moab hath [Israel] sent, and he hath not been willing; and Israel abideth in Kadesh,
RV : then Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land: but the king of Edom hearkened not. And in like manner he sent unto the king of Moab: but he would not: and Israel abode in Kadesh.
RSV : Israel then sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, `Let us pass, we pray, through your land'; but the king of Edom would not listen. And they sent also to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. So Israel remained at Kadesh.
ASV : then Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land; but the king of Edom hearkened not. And in like manner he sent unto the king of Moab; but he would not: and Israel abode in Kadesh.
ESV : Israel then sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, 'Please let us pass through your land,' but the king of Edom would not listen. And they sent also to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. So Israel remained at Kadesh.
ERVEN : The Israelites sent messengers to the king of Edom. The messengers asked for a favor. They said, 'Let the Israelites cross through your land.' But the king of Edom didn't let us go through his land. We also sent the same message to the king of Moab. But the king of Moab would not let us go through his land either. So the Israelites stayed at Kadesh.

BNV : তারপর ইস্রায়েলীয়রা মরুভূমি দিয়ে আর ইদোম ও মোযাব দেশের পাশ দিয়ে যেতে লাগল| তারা মোয়াবের পূর্বদিকে গিয়ে অর্ণোন নদীর ওপারে তাঁবু গাড়ল| মোয়াবের সীমানা তারা পেরোল না| মোয়াবের ধারেই অর্ণোন নদী|
KJV : Then they went along through the wilderness, and compassed the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and pitched on the other side of Arnon, but came not within the border of Moab: for Arnon [was] the border of Moab.
YLT : and he goeth through the wilderness, and compasseth the land of Edom and the land of Moab, and cometh in at the rising of the sun of the land of Moab, and they encamp beyond Arnon, and have not come into the border of Moab, for Arnon [is] the border of Moab.
RV : Then he walked through the wilderness, and compassed the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and they pitched on the other side of Arnon; but they came not within the border of Moab, for Arnon was the border of Moab.
RSV : Then they journeyed through the wilderness, and went around the land of Edom and the land of Moab, and arrived on the east side of the land of Moab, and camped on the other side of the Arnon; but they did not enter the territory of Moab, for the Arnon was the boundary of Moab.
ASV : Then they went through the wilderness, and went around the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and they encamped on the other side of the Arnon; but they came not within the border of Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.
ESV : "Then they journeyed through the wilderness and went around the land of Edom and the land of Moab and arrived on the east side of the land of Moab and camped on the other side of the Arnon. But they did not enter the territory of Moab, for the Arnon was the boundary of Moab.
ERVEN : "Then the Israelites went through the desert and around the edges of the land of Edom and the land of Moab. They traveled east of the land of Moab. They made their camp on the other side of the Arnon River. They did not cross the border of the land of Moab. (The Arnon River was the border of the land of Moab.)

BNV : তারপর ইমোরীয় রাজা সীহোনের কাছে ইস্রায়েলীয়রা দূত পাঠাল| সীহোন ছিল হিষ্বোনের রাজা| দূতেরা সীহোনকে বলল, “তোমাদের দেশের মধ্যে দিয়ে ইস্রায়েলীয়দের যেতে দাও| আমরা আমাদের দেশে যেতে চাই|”

ERVEN : He defeated them from the city of Aroer to the city of Minnith. Jephthah captured 20 cities. Then he fought the Ammonites to the city of Abel Keramim. The Israelites defeated them. It was a very great defeat for the Ammonites.

KJV : And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back.

ERVEN : When Jephthah saw that his daughter was the first thing to come out of his house, he tore his clothes to show his sadness. Then he said, "Oh, my daughter! You have ruined me! You have made me very sad! I made a promise to the Lord, and I cannot change it!"
