HOV : मैं निश्चय जानता हूं, कि बात ऐसी ही है; परन्तु मनुष्य ईश्वर की दृष्टि में क्योंकर धमीं ठहर सकता है?
KJV : I know [it is] so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
YLT : Truly I have known that [it is] so, And what -- is man righteous with God?
RV : Of a truth I know that it is so: but how can man be just with God?
RSV : "Truly I know that it is so: But how can a man be just before God?
ASV : Of a truth I know that it is so: But how can man be just with God?
ESV : "Truly I know that it is so: But how can a man be in the right before God?
ERVEN : "Of course, I know that this is true. But how can a human being win an argument with God?

HOV : चाहे वह उस से मुक़द्दमा लड़ना भी चाहे तौभी मनुष्य हजार बातों में से एक का भी उत्तर न दे सकेगा।
KJV : If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.
YLT : If he delight to strive with Him -- He doth not answer him one of a thousand.
RV : If he be pleased to contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.
RSV : If one wished to contend with him, one could not answer him once in a thousand times.

HOV : वह बुद्धिमान और अति सामथीं है: उसके विरोध में हठ कर के कौन कभी प्रबल हुआ है?
KJV : [He is] wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened [himself] against him, and hath prospered?
YLT : Wise in heart and strong in power -- Who hath hardened toward Him and is at peace?

ERVEN : God is so wise and powerful that no one could oppose him and survive.

HOV : वह तो पर्वतों को अचानक हटा देता है और उन्हें पता भी नहीं लगता, वह क्रोध में आकर उन्हें उलट पुलट कर देता है।
KJV : Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.
YLT : Who is removing mountains, And they have not known, Who hath overturned them in His anger.
RV : Which removeth the mountains, and they know it not, when he overturneth them in his anger.

ERVEN : When God is angry, he moves mountains before they know what happened.

HOV : वह पृथ्वी को हिला कर उसके स्थान से अलग करता है, और उसके खम्भे कांपने लगते हैं।
KJV : Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.
YLT : Who is shaking earth from its place, And its pillars move themselves.

HOV : उसकी आज्ञा बिना सूर्य उदय होता ही नहीं; और वह तारों पर मुहर लगाता है;
KJV : Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.
YLT : Who is speaking to the sun, and it riseth not, And the stars He sealeth up.

ERVEN : With one command he can stop the sun from rising. He can lock up the stars and keep them from shining.

HOV : वह आकाशमण्डल को अकेला ही फैलाता है, और समुद्र की ऊंची ऊंची लहरों पर चलता है;
KJV : Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.

ERVEN : "God made the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades. He made the planets that cross the southern sky.

HOV : वह तो ऐसे बड़े कर्म करता है, जिनकी थाह नहीं लगती; और इतने आश्चर्यकर्म करता है, जो गिने नहीं जा सकते।
KJV : Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.
YLT : Doing great things till there is no searching, And wonderful, till there is no numbering.
RV : Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, marvelous things without number.
RSV : who does great things beyond understanding, and marvelous things without number.
ASV : That doeth great things past finding out, Yea, marvellous things without number.

ERVEN : He does things too marvelous for people to understand. He does too many miracles to count!

HOV : देखो, वह मेरे साम्हने से हो कर तो चलता है परन्तु मुझ को नहीं दिखाई पड़ता; और आगे को बढ़ जाता है, परन्तु मुझे सूझ ही नहीं पड़ता है।
KJV : Lo, he goeth by me, and I see [him] not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
YLT : Lo, He goeth over by me, and I see not, And He passeth on, and I attend not to it.
RV : Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
RSV : Lo, he passes by me, and I see him not; he moves on, but I do not perceive him.

ERVEN : When he passes by, I cannot see him. He goes right past me, and I don't notice.

HOV : देखो, जब वह छीनने लगे, तब उसको कौन रोकेगा? कौन उस से कह सकता है कि तू यह क्या करता है?
KJV : Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?
YLT : Lo, He snatches away, who bringeth it back? Who saith unto Him, `What dost Thou?`
RV : Behold, he seizeth {cf15i the prey}, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?

ERVEN : If he takes something away, no one can stop him. No one can say to him, 'What are you doing?'

HOV : ईश्वर अपना क्रोध ठंडा नहीं करता। अभिमानी के सहायकों को उसके पांव तले झुकना पड़ता है।
KJV : [If] God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.
YLT : God doth not turn back His anger, Under Him bowed have proud helpers.
RV : God will not withdraw his anger; the helpers of Rahab do stoop under him.
RSV : "God will not turn back his anger; beneath him bowed the helpers of Rahab.

ERVEN : God will not hold back his anger. Even Rahab's helpers are afraid of him.

HOV : फिर मैं क्या हूं, जो उसे उत्तर दूं, और बातें छांट छांटकर उस से विवाद करूं?
KJV : How much less shall I answer him, [and] choose out my words [to reason] with him?
YLT : How much less do I -- I answer Him? Choose out my words with Him?

HOV : चाहे मैं निर्दोष भी होता परन्तु उसको उत्तर न दे सकता; मैं अपने मुद्दई से गिड़गिड़ाकर बिनती करता।
KJV : Whom, though I were righteous, [yet] would I not answer, [but] I would make supplication to my judge.
YLT : Whom, though I were righteous, I answer not, For my judgment I make supplication.
RV : Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer; I would make supplication to mine adversary.
RSV : Though I am innocent, I cannot answer him; I must appeal for mercy to my accuser.

HOV : चाहे मेरे पुकारने से वह उत्तर भी देता, तौभी मैं इस बात की प्रतीति न करता, कि वह मेरी बात सुनता है।
KJV : If I had called, and he had answered me; [yet] would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.

HOV : वह तो आंधी चला कर मुझे तोड़ डालता है, और बिना कारण मेरे चोट पर चोट लगाता है।
KJV : For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.
YLT : Because with a tempest He bruiseth me, And hath multiplied my wounds for nought.

ERVEN : He would just send storms to crush me. He would give me more wounds for no reason.

HOV : वह मुझे सांस भी लेने नहीं देता है, और मुझे कड़वाहट से भरता है।
KJV : He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.
YLT : He permitteth me not to refresh my spirit, But filleth me with bitter things.

HOV : जो सामर्थ्य की चर्चा हो, तो देखो, वह बलवान है: और यदि न्याय की चर्चा हो, तो वह कहेगा मुझ से कौन मुक़द्दमा लड़ेगा?
KJV : If [I speak] of strength, lo, [he is] strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time [to plead? ]
YLT : If of power, lo, the Strong One; And if of judgment -- who doth convene me?
RV : If {cf15i we speak} of the strength of the mighty, lo, {cf15i he is there}! and if of judgment, who will appoint me a time?
RSV : If it is a contest of strength, behold him! If it is a matter of justice, who can summon him?

ERVEN : I cannot defeat God. He is too powerful! I cannot take him to court for justice. Who could force him to come?

HOV : चाहे मैं निर्दोष ही क्यों न हूँ, परन्तु अपने ही मुंह से दोषी ठहरूंगा; खरा होने पर भी वह मुझे कुटिल ठहराएगा।
KJV : If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: [if I say, I am] perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.
YLT : If I be righteous, Mine mouth doth declare me wicked, Perfect I am! -- it declareth me perverse.
RV : Though I be righteous, mine own mouth shall condemn me: though I be perfect, it shall prove me perverse.

HOV : मैं खरा तो हूँ, परन्तु अपना भेद नहीं जानता; अपने जीवन से मुझे घृण आती है।
KJV : [Though] I [were] perfect, [yet] would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.
YLT : Perfect I am! -- I know not my soul, I despise my life.

HOV : बात तो एक ही है, इस से मैं यह कहता हूँ कि ईश्वर खरे और दुष्ट दोनों को नाश करता है।
KJV : This [is] one [thing,] therefore I said [it,] He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.
YLT : It is the same thing, therefore I said, `The perfect and the wicked He is consuming.`
RV : It is all one; therefore I say, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.

HOV : देश दुष्टों के हाथ में दिया गया है। वह उसके न्यायियों की आंखों को मून्द देता है; इसका करने वाला वही न हो तो कौन है?
KJV : The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, [and] who [is] he?

HOV : जो मैं कहूं, कि विलाप करना फूल जाऊंगा, और उदासी छोड़कर अपना मन प्रफुल्लित कर दूंगा,
KJV : If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my heaviness, and comfort [myself: ]
YLT : Though I say, `I forget my talking, I forsake my corner, and I brighten up!`

HOV : तब मैं अपने सब दुखों से डरता हूँ। मैं तो जानता हूँ, कि तू मुझे निर्दोष न ठहराएगा।
KJV : I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.

HOV : तौभी तू मुझे गड़हे में डाल ही देगा, और मेरे वस्त्र भी मुझ से घिनाएंगे।
KJV : Yet shalt thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes shall abhor me.
YLT : Then in corruption Thou dost dip me, And my garments have abominated me.

HOV : क्योंकि वह मेरे तुल्य मनुष्य नहीं है कि मैं उस से वादविवाद कर सकूं, और हम दोनों एक दूसरे से मुक़द्दमा लड़ सकें।
KJV : For [he is] not a man, as I [am, that] I should answer him, [and] we should come together in judgment.
YLT : But if a man like myself -- I answer him, We come together into judgment.

HOV : हम दोनों के बीच कोई बिचवई नहीं है, जो हम दोंनों पर अपना हाथ रखे। वह अपना सोंटा मुझ पर से दूर करे
KJV : Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, [that] might lay his hand upon us both.
YLT : If there were between us an umpire, He doth place his hand on us both.

HOV : और उसकी भय देनेवाली बात मुझे न घबराए।
KJV : Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me:
YLT : He doth turn aside from off me his rod, And His terror doth not make me afraid,

ERVEN : I wish someone could take away the threat of God's punishment. Then he would not frighten me anymore.

HOV : तब मैं उस से निडर हो कर कुछ कह सकूंगा, क्योंकि मैं अपनी दृष्टि में ऐसा नहीं हूँ।
KJV : [Then] would I speak, and not fear him; but [it is] not so with me.
YLT : I speak, and do not fear Him, But I am not right with myself.
