BNV : দুর্ভিক্ষের সময়টা সেই দেশের পক্ষে খারাপ হল|
KJV : And the famine [was] sore in the land.
YLT : And the famine [is] severe in the land;
RV : And the famine was sore in the land.

ERVEN : The famine was very bad in that country.

BNV : মিশর থেকে আনা সব শস্যই লোকেরা খেয়ে শেষ করে ফেলল| যখন সেইসব শস্য শেষ হল, যাকোব তার দুটি পুত্রকে বলল, “মিশরে গিয়ে খাবার জন্য আরও শস্য কিনে আনো|”
KJV : And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food.
YLT : and it cometh to pass, when they have finished eating the corn which they brought from Egypt, that their father saith unto them, `Turn back, buy for us a little food.`
RV : And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food.

BNV : কিন্তু যিহূদা যাকোবকে বলল, “কিন্তু সেই দেশের রাজ্যপাল আমাদের সাবধান করে দিয়ে বলেছেন, ‘তোমরা তোমাদের ভাইকে নিয়ে না এলে আমি তোমাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলব না|’
KJV : And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother [be] with you.
YLT : And Judah speaketh unto him, saying, `The man protesting protested to us, saying, Ye do not see my face without your brother [being] with you;
RV : And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.
RSV : But Judah said to him, "The man solemnly warned us, saying, `You shall not see my face, unless your brother is with you.'

ERVEN : But Judah said to Jacob, "But the governor of that country warned us. He said, 'If you don't bring your brother back to me, I will refuse to talk to you.'

BNV : আপনি বিন্যামীনকে আমাদের সঙ্গে পাঠালে আমরা আবার শস্য কিনতে য়েতে পারি|
KJV : If thou wilt send our brother with us, we will go down and buy thee food:

BNV : কিন্তু বিন্যামীনকে না পাঠালে আমরা যাব না| সেই রাজ্যপাল আমাদের সাবধান করে দিয়ে বলেছে তাকে না নিয়ে আসা চলবে না|”
KJV : But if thou wilt not send [him,] we will not go down: for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother [be] with you.
YLT : and if thou art not sending -- we do not go down, for the man said unto us, Ye do not see my face without your brother [being] with you.`

BNV : ইস্রায়েল বললেন, “কেন তোমরা তাকে বললে য়ে তোমাদের আরেক ভাই রয়েছে? কেন তোমরা আমায় এই রকম বিপদ এনে দিলে|”
KJV : And Israel said, Wherefore dealt ye so ill with me, as to tell the man whether ye had yet a brother?
YLT : And Israel saith, `Why did ye evil to me, by declaring to the man that ye had yet a brother?`
RV : And Israel said, Wherefore dealt ye so ill with me, as to tell the man whether ye had yet a brother?
RSV : Israel said, "Why did you treat me so ill as to tell the man that you had another brother?"

ERVEN : Israel said, "Why did you tell him you had another brother? Why did you do such a bad thing to me?"

BNV : ভাইরা উত্তরে বলল, “লোকটি অনেক প্রশ্ন জিজ্ঞাসা করছিলেন| তিনি আমাদের ও আমাদের পরিবার সম্বন্ধে সব কিছু জানতে চাইছিলেন| তিনি এও জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “তোমাদের পিতা কি এখনও জীবিত আছেন? তোমাদের বাড়ীতে কি আর কোন ভাই রয়েছে?’ আমরা কেবল তার প্রশ্নের উত্তর দিয়েছি| আমরা জানতাম না য়ে তিনি ছোট ভাইকে নিয়ে আসতে বলবেন|”
KJV : And they said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, [Is] your father yet alive? have ye [another] brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down?
YLT : and they say, `The man asked diligently concerning us, and concerning our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye a brother? and we declare to him according to the tenor of these things; do we certainly know that he will say, Bring down your brother?`
RV : And they said, The man asked straitly concerning ourselves, and concerning our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye {cf15i another} brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we in any wise know that he would say, Bring your brother down?
RSV : They replied, "The man questioned us carefully about ourselves and our kindred, saying, `Is your father still alive? Have you another brother?' What we told him was in answer to these questions; could we in any way know that he would say, `Bring your brother down'?"
ASV : And they said, The man asked straitly concerning ourselves, and concerning our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye another brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we in any wise know that he would say, Bring your brother down?
ESV : They replied, "The man questioned us carefully about ourselves and our kindred, saying, 'Is your father still alive? Do you have another brother?' What we told him was in answer to these questions. Could we in any way know that he would say, 'Bring your brother down'?"
ERVEN : The brothers answered, "He asked lots of questions. He wanted to know all about us and about our family. He asked us, 'Is your father still alive? Do you have another brother at home?' We only answered his questions. We didn't know he would ask us to bring our brother to him!"

BNV : তখন যিহূদা তার পিতা ইস্রায়েলকে বলল, “বিন্যামীনকে আমার সঙ্গে য়েতে দিন| আমি তার যত্ন নেব| আমাদের মিশরে য়েতেই হবে, না গেলে আমরা সবাই মারা যাব, এমনকি আমাদের সন্তানরাও মরবে|
KJV : And Judah said unto Israel his father, Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and thou, [and] also our little ones.
YLT : And Judah saith unto Israel his father, `Send the youth with me, and we arise, and go, and live, and do not die, both we, and thou, and our infants.

BNV : আমি নিশ্চিতভাবে তার নিরাপত্তার দিকে নজর রাখব| আমিই তার দায়িত্ব নেব| আমি যদি তাকে ফেরত না আমি তবে চিরকাল তোমার কাছে অপরাধী থাকব|
KJV : I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever:
YLT : I -- I am surety [for] him, from my hand thou dost require him; if I have not brought him in unto thee, and set him before thee -- then I have sinned against thee all the days;

ERVEN : I will make sure he is safe. I will be responsible for him. If I don't bring him back to you, you can blame me forever.

BNV : আমাদের যদি আগে য়েতে দিতে তবে আমরা দ্বিতীয়বার খাবার নিয়ে আসতে পারতাম|”
KJV : For except we had lingered, surely now we had returned this second time.
YLT : for if we had not lingered, surely now we had returned these two times.`
RV : for except we had lingered, surely we had now returned a second time.
RSV : for if we had not delayed, we would now have returned twice."

BNV : তখন তাদের পিতা ইস্রায়েল বললেন, “এই যদি সত্যি হয় তবে বিন্যামীনকে তোমাদের সঙ্গে নাও| কিন্তু রাজ্যপালের জন্য কিছু উপহার নিয়ে য়েও| সেই সমস্ত জিনিস যা আমরা আমাদের দেশে সংগ্রহ করেছি তা নিয়ে যাও| তার জন্য মধু, পেস্তা, বাদাম, ধূনো, আঠা এবং সুগন্ধদ্রব্য এইসব নিয়ে যাও|
KJV : And their father Israel said unto them, If [it must be] so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds:
YLT : And Israel their father saith unto them, `If so, now, this do: take of the praised thing of the land in your vessels, and take down to the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices and myrrh, nuts and almonds;
RV : And their father Israel said unto them, If it be so now, do this; take of the choice fruits of the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spicery and myrrh, nuts, and almonds:

ERVEN : Then their father Israel said, "If it is really true, take Benjamin with you. But take some gifts to the governor. Take some of the things we have been able to gather in our land. Take him some honey, pistachio nuts, almonds, gum, and myrrh.

BNV : এইবার তোমাদের সঙ্গে দ্বিগুন টাকা নিও| গতবার দাম মেটাবার পর য়ে টাকা তোমাদের কাছে ফেরত্‌ এসেছিল তা সঙ্গে নাও| হতে পারে রাজ্যপালের ভুল হয়েছিল|
KJV : And take double money in your hand; and the money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, carry [it] again in your hand; peradventure it [was] an oversight:
YLT : and double money take in your hand, even the money which is brought back in the mouth of your bags, ye take back in your hand, it may be it [is] an oversight.
RV : and take double money in your hand; and the money that was returned in the mouth of your sacks carry again in your hand; peradventure it was an oversight:

ERVEN : Take twice as much money with you this time. Take the money that was given back to you after you paid last time. Maybe the governor made a mistake.

BNV : বিন্যামীনকে নিয়েই তার কাছে যাও|
KJV : Take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man:
YLT : `And take your brother, and rise, turn back unto the man;
RV : take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man:
RSV : Take also your brother, and arise, go again to the man;
ASV : take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man:

ERVEN : Take Benjamin, and go back to the man.

BNV : আমার প্রার্থনা তোমরা যখন রাজ্যপালের সামনে দাঁড়াবে তখন য়েন সর্বশক্তিমান ঈশ্বর তোমাদের সাহায্য করেন| প্রার্থনা করি সে য়েন বিন্যামীন ও শিমিয়োনকে নিরাপদে ফিরে আসতে দেয| যদি তা না হয় তবে আমি পুত্র হারানোর শোকে আবার মুষড়ে পড়ব|”
KJV : And God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved [of my children,] I am bereaved.
YLT : and God Almighty give to you mercies before the man, so that he hath sent to you your other brother and Benjamin; and I, when I am bereaved -- I am bereaved.`
RV : and God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may release unto you your other brother and Benjamin. And if I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved.

ERVEN : I pray that God All-Powerful will help you when you stand before the governor. I pray that he will let Benjamin, and also Simeon, come back safely. If not, I will again be sad from losing my children."

BNV : তাই রা রাজ্যপালকে দেবার জন্য উপহারগুলো নিল আর সঙ্গে আগে যা নিয়েছিল তার দ্বিগুন টাকা নিল| এইবার বিন্যামীনও তার ভাইদের সাথে মিশরে গেল|

BNV : মিশরে য়োষেফ বিন্যামীনকে তার ভাইদের সঙ্গে দেখতে পেয়ে ভৃত্যদের বললেন, “ঐ লোকদের আমার বাড়ী নিয়ে এস| পশু মেরে রান্না কর| এই লোকরা আজ দুপুরে আমার সঙ্গে খাবে|”
KJV : And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the ruler of his house, Bring [these] men home, and slay, and make ready; for [these] men shall dine with me at noon.
YLT : and Joseph seeth Benjamin with them, and saith to him who [is] over his house, `Bring the men into the house, and slaughter an animal, and make ready, for with me do the men eat at noon.`
RV : And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the steward of his house, Bring the men into the house, and slay, and make ready; for the men shall dine with me at noon.

BNV : ভৃত্যটি কথা মত কাজ করল| সে ঐ লোকদের য়োষেফের বাড়ীর ভিতর নিয়ে এল|
KJV : And the man did as Joseph bade; and the man brought the men into Joseph’s house.
YLT : And the man doth as Joseph hath said, and the man bringeth in the men into the house of Joseph,

BNV : য়োষেফের বাড়ী যাবার সময় ভাইরা ভয় পেয়ে গেল| তারা বলল, “গতবার য়ে টাকা আমাদের বস্তায় ফেরত্‌ দেওয়া হয়েছিল তার জন্যই বোধহয় আমাদের এখানে আনা হচ্ছে| ঐ বিষযটিকেই আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে প্রমাণ হিসেবে ব্যবহার করে তারা আমাদের গাধা কেড়ে নিয়ে আমাদের দাস করে রাখবে|”
KJV : And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph’s house; and they said, Because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for bondmen, and our asses.
YLT : and the men are afraid because they have been brought into the house of Joseph, and they say, `For the matter of the money which was put back in our bags at the commencement are we brought in -- to roll himself upon us, and to throw himself on us, and to take us for servants -- our asses also.`

ESV : And the men were afraid because they were brought to Joseph's house, and they said, "It is because of the money, which was replaced in our sacks the first time, that we are brought in, so that he may assault us and fall upon us to make us servants and seize our donkeys."
ERVEN : The brothers were afraid when they were taken to Joseph's house and said, "We have been brought here because of the money that was put back in our sacks the last time. They will use this as proof against us and steal our donkeys and make us slaves."

BNV : তাই ভাইরা য়োষেফের বাড়ীর প্রধান ভৃত্যের কাছে গেল|
KJV : And they came near to the steward of Joseph’s house, and they communed with him at the door of the house,
YLT : And they come nigh unto the man who [is] over the house of Joseph, and speak unto him at the opening of the house,
RV : And they came near to the steward of Joseph-s house, and they spake unto him at the door of the house,
RSV : So they went up to the steward of Joseph's house, and spoke with him at the door of the house,
ASV : And they came near to the steward of Josephs house, and they spake unto him at the door of the house,

ERVEN : So the brothers went to the servant in charge of Joseph's house.

BNV : তারা বলল, “সত্যি বলছি গতবার আমরা শস্য কিনতে এসেছিলাম|
KJV : And said, O sir, we came indeed down at the first time to buy food:
YLT : and say, `O, my lord, we really come down at the commencement to buy food;
RV : and said, Oh my lord, we came indeed down at the first time to buy food:
RSV : and said, "Oh, my lord, we came down the first time to buy food;
ASV : and said, Oh, my lord, we came indeed down at the first time to buy food:
ESV : and said, "Oh, my lord, we came down the first time to buy food.
ERVEN : They said, "Sir, I promise this is the truth. The last time we came, we came to buy food.

BNV : বাড়ী ফেরার পথে আমরা বস্তা খুলে প্রত্যেক বস্তায় আমাদের টাকা খুঁজে পেলাম| আমরা জানি না টাকা সেখানে কি করে এলো| কিন্তু আমরা সেই টাকা ফেরত্‌ দেবার জন্য নিয়ে এসেছি| আর এবারের শস্য কেনার জন্যও টাকা এনেছি|”
KJV : And it came to pass, when we came to the inn, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, [every] man’s money [was] in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand.
YLT : and it cometh to pass, when we have come in unto the lodging-place, and open our bags, that lo, each one`s money [is] in the mouth of his bag, our money in its weight, and we bring it back in our hand;
RV : and it came to pass, when we came to the lodging place, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man-s money was in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand.
RSV : and when we came to the lodging place we opened our sacks, and there was every man's money in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight; so we have brought it again with us,

ERVEN : On the way home we opened our sacks and found our money in every sack. We don't know how it got there, but we brought that money with us to give it back to you. And we have brought more money to pay for the food that we want to buy this time."

KJV : And he said, Peace [be] to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them.

KJV : And he lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother’s son, and said, [Is] this your younger brother, of whom ye spake unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son.

KJV : And they set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that [is] an abomination unto the Egyptians.
