BNV : মর্দখয় এসব কথা জানতে পারলেন| তিনি ইহুদীদের বিরুদ্ধে রাজার দেওয়া নির্দেশের কথা জানতে পেরে, নিজের প্রকৃত পোশাক ছিঁড়ে ফেলে শোকের পোশাক পরলেন| তারপর সারা মাথায় ভস্ম মেখে উচ্চস্বরে কাঁদতে কাঁদতে শহরে বেড়ালেন|
KJV : When Mordecai perceived all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry;
YLT : And Mordecai hath known all that hath been done, and Mordecai rendeth his garments, and putteth on sackcloth and ashes, and goeth forth into the midst of the city and crieth -- a cry loud and bitter,
RV : Now when Mordecai knew all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry:

ERVEN : When Mordecai heard about all that had been done, he tore his clothes. Then he put on sackcloth, put ashes on his head, and went out into the city crying loudly.

BNV : তিনি এভাবে রাজদ্বার পর্য়ন্ত গেলেন কারণ শোকের পোশাক পরে কাউকে এভাবে দরজার ভেতরে য়েতে দেওয়া হতো না|
KJV : And came even before the king’s gate: for none [might] enter into the king’s gate clothed with sackcloth.
YLT : and he cometh in unto the front of the gate of the king, but none is to come in unto the gate of the king with a sackcloth-garment.
RV : and he came even before the king-s gate: for none might enter within the king-s gate clothed with sackcloth.
RSV : he went up to the entrance of the king's gate, for no one might enter the king's gate clothed with sackcloth.

ERVEN : But Mordecai went only as far as the king's gate. No one was allowed to enter the gate dressed in sackcloth.

BNV : প্রত্যেকটি প্রদেশে যেখানে যেখানে রাজার নির্দেশ জারি করা হয়েছিল যেখানে ইহুদী সম্প্রদাযের মধ্যে শোকের ছায়া পড়ে গিয়েছিল| তারা সকলে অভুক্ত থেকে উচ্চস্বরে কান্নাকাটি করছিল| অনেক ইহুদী মাথায় ভস্ম মেখে মাটিতে গড়াগড়ি দিচ্ছিল|
KJV : And in every province, whithersoever the king’s commandment and his decree came, [there was] great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.
YLT : And in every province and province, the place where the word of the king, even his law, is coming, a great mourning have the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and lamenting: sackcloth and ashes are spread for many.

ERVEN : In every province where the king's command had come, there was much crying and sadness among the Jews. They were fasting and crying loudly. Many Jews were lying on the ground dressed in sackcloth with ashes on their heads.

BNV : ইষ্টেরের পরিচারিকা ও নপুংসক পরিচারকরা এসে তাঁকে মর্দখয়ের কথা জানালো| সেকথা শুনে ইষ্টের মর্মাহত ও বিষণ্ন হলেন| তিনি শোকের পোশাক ছেড়ে ফেলতে অনুরোধ জানিয়ে মর্দখয়ের জন্য জামাকাপড় পাঠালেন| কিন্তু মর্দখয় তা পরতে রাজী হলেন না|
KJV : So Esther’s maids and her chamberlains came and told [it] her. Then was the queen exceedingly grieved; and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackcloth from him: but he received [it] not.
YLT : And young women of Esther come in and her eunuchs, and declare [it] to her, and the queen is exceedingly pained, and sendeth garments to clothe Mordecai, and to turn aside his sackcloth from off him, and he hath not received [them].

ERVEN : Esther's slave women and eunuchs came to her and told her about Mordecai. This made Queen Esther very sad and upset. She sent clothes for Mordecai to put on instead of sackcloth, but he would not accept them.

BNV : তখন ইষ্টের হথক নামে রাজার এক নপুংসক পরিচারককে ডেকে পাঠালেন| হথককে রাজা ইষ্টেরের পরিচর্য়ার কাজে নিয়োগ করেছিলেন| তাকে ইষ্টের মর্দখয়ের দুঃখের কারণ অনুসন্ধান করতে বললেন|
KJV : Then called Esther for Hatach, [one] of the king’s chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it [was,] and why it [was. ]
YLT : And Esther calleth to Hatach, of the eunuchs of the king, whom he hath stationed before her, and giveth him a charge for Mordecai, to know what this [is], and wherefore this [is].
RV : Then called Esther for Hathach, one of the king-s chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and charged him to go to Mordecai, to know what this was, and why it was.

ERVEN : Then Esther called Hathach, one of the king's eunuchs who had been chosen to serve her. She commanded him to find out what was bothering Mordecai, and why.

BNV : তখন হথক রাজপ্রাসাদের ফটকের সামনে শহরের উন্মুক্ত প্রাঙ্গণে যেখানে মর্দখয় অপেক্ষা করছিল সেখানে গেল|
KJV : So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which [was] before the king’s gate.
YLT : And Hatach goeth out unto Mordecai, unto a broad place of the city, that [is] before the gate of the king,
RV : So Hathach went forth to Mordecai unto the broad place of the city, which was before the king-s gate.
RSV : Hathach went out to Mordecai in the open square of the city in front of the king's gate,

BNV : মর্দখয় হথককে যা যা ঘটেছে সে সব কথাই বললেন| এমনকি ইহুদীদের নিধনের জন্য হামন রাজকোষাগারে য়ে অর্থ দেবার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলেন, তার সঠিক পরিমাণও মর্দখয় তাকে জানালেন|
KJV : And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king’s treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.
YLT : and Mordecai declareth to him all that hath met him, and the explanation of the money that Haman said to weigh to the treasuries of the king for the Jews, to destroy them,
RV : And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and the exact sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king-s treasuries for the Jews, to destroy them.

ERVEN : Then Mordecai told Hathach everything that had happened to him. Mordecai told him about the exact amount of money Haman had promised to put into the king's treasury for killing Jews.

BNV : মর্দখয় তাকে ইহুদী হত্যার জন্য রাজার দেওয়া নির্দেশ-নামার একটি প্রতিলিপিও দিলেন| এই নির্দেশ-নামাটি শূশনের সর্বত্র পাঠানো হয়েছিল| তিনি হথককে নির্দেশ-নামাটি ইষ্টেরকে দেখিয়ে যা ঘটেছিল তা ব্যাখ্যা করতে বললেন| উপরন্তু তিনি তাকে ইষ্টেরকে রাজার কাছে গিয়ে তাঁর স্বজাতীযদের জন্য ও মর্দখযের জন্য ক্ষমা ভিক্ষা করার জন্য বলতে বললেন|
KJV : Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at Shushan to destroy them, to shew [it] unto Esther, and to declare [it] unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people.
YLT : and the copy of the writing of the law that had been given in Shushan to destroy them he hath given to him, to shew Esther, and to declare [it] to her, and to lay a charge on her to go in unto the king, to make supplication to him, and to seek from before him, for her people.

ESV : Mordecai also gave him a copy of the written decree issued in Susa for their destruction, that he might show it to Esther and explain it to her and command her to go to the king to beg his favor and plead with him on behalf of her people.
ERVEN : Mordecai also gave Hathach a copy of the king's command to kill the Jews. The command had been sent out all over the city of Susa. He wanted Hathach to show it to Esther and tell her everything. And he told him to encourage Esther to go to the king and beg him for mercy for Mordecai and her people.

BNV : হথক ফিরে গিয়ে ইষ্টেরকে মর্দখযের সব কথাই জানাল|
KJV : And Hatach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai.
YLT : And Hatach cometh in and declareth to Esther the words of Mordecai,
RV : And Hathach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai.
RSV : And Hathach went and told Esther what Mordecai had said.
ASV : And Hathach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai.

BNV : ইষ্টের তখন হথককে বললেন, মর্দখয়কে জানাতে:

BNV : “রাজ্যের সমস্ত বাসিন্দা ও রাজার সমস্ত নেতারাই জানেন, য়ে ডাক না পড়লে পুরুষ বা নারী য়েই হোক না কেন রাজার কাছে য়েতে পারে না| যদি কেউ রাজার কাছে যায় তবে তার মৃত্যুদণ্ড হয়| এক্ষেত্রে একমাত্র ব্যতিএম হল: রাজা যদি কারো হাতে তাঁর সোনার রাজদণ্ডটি দেন, তাহলে এক্ষেত্রে সে ব্যক্তি মৃত্যুদণ্ড থেকে নিষ্কৃতি পায| কিন্তু আমাকে রাজা গত 30 দিনের মধ্যে একবারও ডেকে পাঠান নি|”
KJV : All the king’s servants, and the people of the king’s provinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, [there is] one law of his to put [him] to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.
YLT : `All servants of the king, and people of the provinces of the king, do know that any man and woman, who cometh in unto the king, unto the inner court, who is not called -- one law [of] his [is] to put [them] to death, apart from him to whom the king holdeth out the golden sceptre, then he hath lived; and I -- I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.`

ERVEN : "Mordecai, all the king's leaders, and all the people of the king's provinces know this: The king has one law for any man or woman who goes to the king without being called. That person must be put to death unless the king holds out his gold scepter to the person. If the king does this, that person's life will be saved. And I have not been called to go see the king for 30 days."

BNV : মর্দখয়কে ইষ্টেরের বার্তা জানানো হলে তিনি ইষ্টেরকে বলে পাঠালেন: “ইষ্টের, এমন ভেবো না য়ে যদিও তুমি রাজপ্রাসাদে বাস করছো, ইহুদী হয়েও নিজে বেঁচে যাবে|
KJV : And they told to Mordecai Esther’s words.
YLT : And they declare to Mordecai the words of Esther,
RV : And they told to Mordecai Esther-s words.
RSV : And they told Mordecai what Esther had said.

ERVEN : Then Esther's message was given to Mordecai. When he got her message, Mordecai sent his answer back: "Esther, don't think that just because you live in the king's palace you will be the only Jew to escape.

KJV : Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews.
YLT : and Mordecai speaketh to send back unto Esther: `Do not think in thy soul to be delivered [in] the house of the king, more than all the Jews,
RV : Then Mordecai bade them return answer unto Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king-s house, more than all the Jews.
RSV : Then Mordecai told them to return answer to Esther, "Think not that in the king's palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews.

BNV : তুমি যদি এখন চুপ করে থাকো, ইহুদীদের জন্য সাহায্য ও স্বাধীনতা কোথাও না কোথাও থেকে আসবে, কিন্তু তুমি ও তোমার পিতার পরিবারের সকলে মারা যাবে| কে জানে, হয়তো ঠিক এরকম কোন একটা সময়ের জন্যই তোমাকে রাণী করা হয়েছে!”
KJV : For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, [then] shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for [such] a time as this?
YLT : but if thou keep entirely silent at this time, respite and deliverance remaineth to the Jews from another place, and thou and the house of thy fathers are destroyed; and who knoweth whether for a time like this thou hast come to the kingdom?`
RV : For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall relief and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place, but thou and thy father-s house shall perish: and who knoweth whether thou art not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
RSV : For if you keep silence at such a time as this, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another quarter, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"
ASV : For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then will relief and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place, but thou and thy fathers house will perish: and who knoweth whether thou art not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
ESV : For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"
ERVEN : If you keep quiet now, help and freedom for the Jews will come from another place. But you and your father's family will all die. And who knows, maybe you have been chosen to be the queen for such a time as this."

BNV : ইষ্টেরের উত্তরে মর্দখয়কে জানালেন: “শূশনের সমস্ত ইহুদীদের সঙ্গে আমার জন্য উপবাস করো| তিন দিন, তিন রাত্রি তোমরা কোন খাদ্য ও পানীয় গ্রহণ কর না| আমি ও আমার পরিচারিকারাও তোমাদের মতোই উপবাস করবো| তারপর আমি রাজার কাছে যাবো| আমি জানি, না ডাকতে রাজার কাছে যাওয়াটা নিয়ম বিরুদ্ধ| কিন্তু আমি তাও যাবো, তাতে যদি আমার মৃত্যুও হয়, তো হবে|”
KJV : Then Esther bade [them] return Mordecai [this answer, ]

ERVEN : Then Esther sent this answer to Mordecai: "Mordecai, go and get all the Jews in Susa together, and fast for me. Don't eat or drink for three days and nights. I and my women servants will fast too. After we fast, I will go to the king. I know it is against the law to go to the king if he didn't call me, but I will do it anyway. If I die, I die."

YLT : `Go, gather all the Jews who are found in Shushan, and fast for me, and do not eat nor drink three days, by night and by day; also I and my young women do fast likewise, and so I go in unto the king, that [is] not according to law, and when I have perished -- I have perished.`

BNV : মর্দখয় তখন গিয়ে ইষ্টের তাঁকে যা যা করতে বলেছিলেন সবই করলেন|
KJV : So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.
