আর এদিকে ঐসব ধনী লোকদের দেখো! আমরাও তো ওদেরই মতো মানুষ, আমাদের ছেলেমেয়েরাই বা ওদের থেকে কম কিসে? কিন্তু শেষ পর্য়ন্ত আমাদের ছেলেমেয়েদের দাসদাসী হিসেবে বিক্রি করে দিতে হবে! ইতিমধ্যেই অনেকে তা করতে শুরু করেছে, অথচ আমরা কিছুই করতে পারছি না| আমাদের ভূমি ও দ্রাক্ষাক্ষেত এখন অন্য লোকদের অধীনে!”

Yet now our flesh [is] as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and [some] of our daughters are brought unto bondage [already:] neither [is it] in our power [to redeem them;] for other men have our lands and vineyards.
