“যাজকরা প্রশ্ন করেনি, ‘কোথায় সেই প্রভু?’ যারা বিধিটি জানত তারা আমাকে জানতে চায়নি| ইস্রায়েলের নেতারা আমার বিরুদ্ধাচরণ করেছিল| ভাব্বাদীগণ বাল মূর্ত্তির নাম নিয়ে ভাব্বাণী করেছিল| তারা মূল্যহীন মূর্ত্তিগুলোর পূজা করেছিল| তারা মূর্ত্তির অজুহাত দেখিয়ে ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের পূজায বসিযেছে| ইস্রায়েলবাসী ভেবেছিল এই মূর্ত্তিই তাদের জন্য ফলনশীল জমি তৈরী করেছে| তারা বিশ্বাস করেছিল, মূর্ত্তিই বুঝি ঝড়, বৃষ্টি এনে দিয়েছে|”

The priests said not, Where [is] the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after [things that] do not profit.
