ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪಶುಗಳನ್ನು ವಧಿಸಿ ಅದರ ಚರ್ಮಸುಲಿದು ಯಜ್ಞಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಲು ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಯಾಜಕರು ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆಗ ಅವರ ಬಂಧುಗಳಾದ ಲೇವಿಯರು ಬಂದು ಆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮುಗಿಯುವ ತನಕ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡಿದರು. ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸೇವೆಗೆ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಲೇವಿಯರು ಯಾಜಕರಿಗಿಂತ ಉತ್ಸುಕತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರು.
