ಯೋಷೀಯನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ನಗರಗಳಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಆಲಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ನಾಶಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು. ಇಸ್ರೇಲಿನ ರಾಜರುಗಳು ಈ ಆಲಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಬಹಳ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದನು. ಯೋಷೀಯನು ಬೇತೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆರಾಧನೆಯ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಶಪಡಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಆ ಆಲಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಾಶಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು.
