যিহোশেবা ছিলেন রাজা য়োরামের কন্যা, অহসিয়ের বোন| তিনি যখন দেখলেন সমস্ত রাজপুত্রদের হত্যা করা হচ্ছে, তখন অহসিয়ের এক পুত্র য়োয়াশকে নিয়ে একটা শয়ন ঘরে এক জন পরিষেবিকার সঙ্গে লুকিয়ে রাখলেন| অতএব তাঁরা য়োয়াশকে অথলিয়ার কাছ থেকে লুকিয়ে রাখলেন এবং এই ভাবে সে নিহত হল না|

But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah and stole him from among the king’s sons [which were] slain; and they hid him, [even] him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain.

Jehosheba was King Joram's daughter and Ahaziah's sister. Joash was one of the king's sons. While the other children were being killed, Jehosheba took Joash and hid him. She put him and his nurse in her bedroom, so Jehosheba and the nurse hid Joash from Athaliah. That way Joash was not killed.
