ಕೋರೆ ಎಂಬ ಲೇವಿಯು ಜನರು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಇಚ್ಛೆಯಿಂದ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಗೆ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಅದರ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಾಗಿಟ್ಟ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಡುವುದು ಅವನ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಪೂರ್ವದ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ದ್ವಾರಪಾಲಕನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಲೇವಿಯನಾದ ಇಮ್ನನ ಮಗನು.
