BNV : প্রত্যেক মানুষের উচিত দেশের শাসকদের অনুগত থাকা, কারণ দেশ শাসনের জন্য ঈশ্বরই তাদের ক্ষমতা দিয়েছেন৷ যাঁরা এমন শাসন কার্য় নিযুক্ত, ঈশ্বরই তাদের সেই কাজের ক্ষমতা দিয়েছেন৷
KJV : Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
YLT : Let every soul to the higher authorities be subject, for there is no authority except from God, and the authorities existing are appointed by God,
RV : Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God; and the {cf15i powers} that be are ordained of God.

BNV : তাই তো কর্ত্তৃপক্ষের বিরোধিতা য়ে করে, সে ঈশ্বর যা স্থির করেছেন তারই বিরোধিতা করে৷ তেমন বিরোধিতা যাঁরা করে তারা নিজেরাই নিজেদের শাস্তি ডেকে আনবে৷
KJV : Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
YLT : so that he who is setting himself against the authority, against God`s ordinance hath resisted; and those resisting, to themselves shall receive judgment.
RV : Therefore he that resisteth the power, withstandeth the ordinance of God: and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment.
RSV : Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.

ERVEN : So anyone who is against the government is really against something God has commanded. Those who are against the government bring punishment on themselves.

BNV : তোমরা ভাল কাজ করো, শাসকবৃন্দ তোমাদের প্রশংসা করবে৷ ভয় পাবার কারণ থাকে তাদেরই যাঁরা মন্দ কাজ করে; যদি তোমরা কর্ত্তৃপক্ষের কাছ থেকে ভয় পেতে না চাও, তবে যা ভাল তাই কর৷
KJV : For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
YLT : For those ruling are not a terror to the good works, but to the evil; and dost thou wish not to be afraid of the authority? that which is good be doing, and thou shalt have praise from it,

ERVEN : People who do right don't have to fear the rulers. But those who do wrong must fear them. Do you want to be free from fearing them? Then do only what is right and they will praise you.

BNV : শাসনকর্তারা আসলে তোমাদের ভালোর জন্য ঈশ্বর নিযোজিত দাস; কিন্তু তোমরা যদি অন্যায় কর তাহলে ভীত হবার কারণ নিশ্চয় থাকে৷ শাস্তি দেবার মতো ক্ষমতা শাসকের ওপর ন্যস্ত আছে, তিনি তো ঈশ্বরের দাস; তাই যাঁরা অন্যায় করে, তাদের তিনি ঈশ্বরের হয়ে শাস্তি দেন৷
KJV : For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil.
YLT : for of God it is a ministrant to thee for good; and if that which is evil thou mayest do, be fearing, for not in vain doth it bear the sword; for of God it is a ministrant, an avenger for wrath to him who is doing that which is evil.

ERVEN : Rulers are God's servants to help you. But if you do wrong, you have reason to be afraid. They have the power to punish, and they will use it. They are God's servants to punish those who do wrong.

BNV : তাই তোমরা শাসনকর্তাদের অনুগত থেকো৷ ঈশ্বরের ক্রোধের ভয়েই য়ে কেবল তাদের অধীনতা স্বীকার করবে তা নয়; কিন্তু তোমাদের বিবেক পরিষ্কার রাখার জন্যও করবে৷
KJV : Wherefore [ye] must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
YLT : Wherefore it is necessary to be subject, not only because of the wrath, but also because of the conscience,

BNV : এই জন্য পরস্পরকে তোমরা প্রাপ্য় কর দাও, কারণ শাসনকার্য় পরিচালনা করার জন্যই তারা ঈশ্বর দ্বারা নিযুক্ত আছেন; আর সেই কার্য়্য়ে তাঁরা ব্যস্তভাবে সময় ব্যয় করেন৷
KJV : For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
YLT : for because of this also pay ye tribute; for servants of God they are, on this very thing attending continually;
RV : For for this cause ye pay tribute also; for they are ministers of God-s service, attending continually upon this very thing.

BNV : তোমাদের কাছে যার যা প্রাপ্য় তাকে তা দিয়ে দাও৷ য়ে কর আদায় করে তাকে কর দাও; যাদের শ্রদ্ধা করা উচিত তাদের শ্রদ্ধা কর; যাদের সম্মান পাওয়া উচিত তাদের সম্মান কর৷
KJV : Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute [is due;] custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
YLT : render, therefore, to all [their] dues; to whom tribute, the tribute; to whom custom, the custom; to whom fear, the fear; to whom honour, the honour.

ERVEN : Give everyone what you owe them. If you owe them any kind of tax, then pay it. Show respect to those you should respect. And show honor to those you should honor.

BNV : শুধু পরস্পরের প্রতি ভালবাসার ঋণ ছাড়া কারো কাছে ঋণী থেকো না, কারণ যাঁরা প্রতিবেশীকে ভালবাসে, তারাই ঠিকভাবে বিধি-ব্যবস্থা মেনে চলছে৷
KJV : Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
YLT : To no one owe anything, except to love one another; for he who is loving the other -- law he hath fulfilled,
RV : Owe no man anything, save to love one another: for he that loveth his neighbour hath fulfilled the law.
RSV : Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

ERVEN : You should owe nothing to anyone, except that you will always owe love to each other. The person who loves others has done all that the law commands.

BNV : আমি একথা বলছি কারণ ঈশ্বরের এই আজ্ঞাগুলি অর্থাত্, ‘ব্যভিচার করবে না, নরহত্যা করবে না, চুরি করবে না, অপরের জিনিস আত্মসাত্ করবে না৷’আর অন্য যা কিছু আদেশ তিনি দিয়েছেন সে সবগুলি সংক্ষেপে এই একটি আদেশের মধ্যেই চলে আসে, ‘নিজের মতো তোমার প্রতিবেশীকে ভালবাসো৷’
KJV : For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if [there be] any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
YLT : for, `Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false testimony, Thou shalt not covet;` and if there is any other command, in this word it is summed up, in this: `Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself;`

ESV : The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet," and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
ERVEN : The law says, "You must not commit adultery, you must not murder anyone, you must not steal, you must not want what belongs to someone else." All these commands and all other commands are really only one rule: "Love your neighbor the same as you love yourself."

BNV : ভালবাসা কখনও কারোর ক্ষতি করে না, তাই দেখা যাচ্ছে ভালবাসাতেই বিধি-ব্যবস্থা পালন করা হয়৷
KJV : Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love [is] the fulfilling of the law.
YLT : the love to the neighbor doth work no ill; the love, therefore, [is] the fulness of law.
RV : Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.
RSV : Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

ERVEN : Love doesn't hurt others. So loving is the same as obeying all the law.

BNV : এখন কোন্ সময় তা তো তোমাদের জানাই আছে৷ হ্যাঁ, এখন তো ঘুম থেকে জেগে ওঠার সময়, কারণ যখন আমরা খ্রীষ্টে প্রথম বিশ্বাস করেছিলাম তখন অপেক্ষা এখন পরিত্রাণ আমাদের আরো সন্নিকট৷
KJV : And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed.
YLT : And this, knowing the time, that for us, the hour already [is] to be aroused out of sleep, for now nearer [is] our salvation than when we did believe;
RV : And this, knowing the season, that now it is high time for you to awake out of sleep: for now is salvation nearer to us than when we {cf15i first} believed.

BNV : ‘দিন’ শুরু হতে আর দেরী নেই৷ ‘রাত’ প্রায় শেষ হল তাই জীবন থেকে অন্ধকারের ক্রিয়াসকল পরিত্যাগ করে এস এখন পরিধান করি আলোকের রণসজ্জা৷
KJV : The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
YLT : the night did advance, and the day came nigh; let us lay aside, therefore, the works of the darkness, and let us put on the armour of the light;

ERVEN : The night is almost finished. The day is almost here. So we should stop doing whatever belongs to darkness. We should prepare ourselves to fight evil with the weapons that belong to the light.

BNV : লোকরা দিনের আলোয় য়েমন চলে আসে আমরাও তাদের মত সত্ পথে চলি৷ আমরা য়েন হৈ-হল্লা পূর্ণ ভোজে য়োগ না দিই, মাতলামি না করি, য়ৌন দুরাচার উচ্ছৃঙ্খলতা থেকে দূরে থাকি; বিবাদ, ঈর্ষা ও তর্কের মধ্যে না যাই৷
KJV : Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
YLT : as in day-time, let us walk becomingly; not in revellings and drunkennesses, not in chamberings and lasciviousnesses, not in strife and emulation;

ERVEN : We should live in a right way, like people who belong to the day. We should not have wild parties or be drunk. We should not be involved in sexual sin or any kind of immoral behavior. We should not cause arguments and trouble or be jealous.

BNV : কিন্তু য়েন নব বেশে প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্টকে পরিধান করি ও দৈহিক কামনা বাসনা চরিতার্থ করার চিন্তায় আর মন না দিই৷
KJV : But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof.]
