BNV : এরপর ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা মোয়াবের যর্দন উপত্যকার দিকে এগোতে শুরু করল| যিরীহো থেকে অপরপারে যর্দন নদীর কাছে তারা শিবির স্থাপন করল|
KJV : And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in the plains of Moab on this side Jordan [by] Jericho.

ERVEN : Balak son of Zippor saw everything the Israelites had done to the Amorites. The king of Moab was very frightened of the Israelites because there were so many of them. He was very afraid.

BNV : মোয়াবের রাজা মিদিযনের নেতাদের বললেন, “গরু যেভাবে মাঠের সমস্ত ঘাস খেযে ফেলে, ঠিক সেভাবেই এই বিশাল জনগোষ্ঠী আমাদের চারপাশের সমস্ত কিছুই ধ্বংস করে দেবে|”এই সময় সিপ্পোরের পুত্র বালাক মোয়াবের রাজা ছিলেন|
KJV : And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up all [that are] round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor [was] king of the Moabites at that time.
YLT : and Moab saith unto the elders of Midian, `Now doth the assembly lick up all that is round about us, as the ox licketh up the green thing of the field.` And Balak son of Zippor [is] king of Moab at that time,
RV : And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this multitude lick up all that is round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of Moab at that time.
RSV : And Moab said to the elders of Midian, "This horde will now lick up all that is round about us, as the ox licks up the grass of the field." So Balak the son of Zippor, who was king of Moab at that time,

ERVEN : The king of Moab said to the leaders of Midian, "This large group of people will destroy everything around us, the way a cow eats all the grass in a field." Balak son of Zippor was the king of Moab at this time.

BNV : বিযোরের পুত্র বিলিয়মকে ডাকার জন্য তিনি কযেকজন লোক পাঠালেন| ফরাত্‌ নদীর কাছে পগোর নামে একটি জায়গায় বিলিয়ম ছিলেন| এম্পখানেম্প বিলিয়মের স্বজাতীযরা বাস করতো| এই ছিল বালাকের বার্তা: “মিশ থেকে এক নতুন জাতির লোকরা এসেছে| সেখানে তাদের সংখ্যা এতো বেশী যে সমস্ত দেশটা ভরে যাবে| তারা আমাদের পরেই শিবির স্থাপন করেছে|
KJV : He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which [is] by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me:
YLT : and he sendeth messengers unto Balaam son of Beor, to Pethor, which [is] by the River of the land of the sons of his people, to call for him, saying, `Lo, a people hath come out of Egypt; lo, it hath covered the eye of the land, and it is abiding over-against me;

ESV : sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor at Pethor, which is near the River in the land of the people of Amaw, to call him, saying, "Behold, a people has come out of Egypt. They cover the face of the earth, and they are dwelling opposite me.
ERVEN : He sent some men to call Balaam son of Beor. Balaam was at Pethor, near the Euphrates River. This was where Balaam's people lived. This was Balak's message: "A new nation of people has come out of Egypt. There are so many people that they cover all the land. They have camped next to me.

BNV : আপনি এসে আমাকে সাহায্য করুন| এই লোকদের অভিশাপ দিন কারণ এরা আমার চেয়ে শক্তিশালী| আমি জানি আপনি যদি কোনো ব্যক্তিকে আশীর্বাদ করেন তাহলে সে আশীর্বাদ পায় এবং আপনি যদি কোনো ব্যক্তিকে অভিশাপ দেন তবে সে শাপগ্রস্ত হয়| সুতরাং আপনি আসুন এবং এই সমস্ত লোকদের অভিশাপ দিন| হতে পারে, আমি হয়তো তাদের আঘাত করে আমার দেশ থেকে দূর করে দিতে পারবো|”
KJV : Come now therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they [are] too mighty for me: peradventure I shall prevail, [that] we may smite them, and [that] I may drive them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest [is] blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed.
YLT : and now, come, I pray thee, curse for me this people, for it [is] mightier than I; it may be I prevail -- we smite it -- and I cast it out from the land; for I have known -- that which thou blessest is blessed, and that which thou cursest is cursed.`

ERVEN : Come and help me. These people are too powerful for me. I know that you have great power. If you bless people, good things happen to them. And if you curse people, bad things happen to them. So come and curse these people. Maybe then I will be able to defeat them and force them to leave my country."

BNV : মোয়াব এবং মিদিযনের নেতারা বিলিয়মের সঙ্গে কথা বলতে গেলেন| তার কাজের পারিশ্রমিক হিসেবে তাদের সঙ্গে টাকা নিয়ে গেলেন এবং তাকে বালাকের প্রেরিত বার্তাটি বললেন|

ERVEN : The leaders of Moab and Midian left. They went to talk to Balaam. They carried with them money to pay him for his service. Then they told him what Balak had said.

BNV : বিলিয়ম তাদের বললেন, “এখানে এক রাত্রির জন্য থাকো| আমি প্রভুর সঙ্গে কথা বলবো এবং তিনি আমাকে যে উত্তর দেবেন তা আমি তোমাদের বলবো|” সুতরাং সেই রাত্রে মোয়াবের নেতারা বিলিয়মের সঙ্গেই সেখানে থাকলেন|
KJV : And he said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as the LORD shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam.
YLT : and he saith unto them, `Lodge here to-night, and I have brought you back word, as Jehovah speaketh unto me;` and the princes of Moab abide with Balaam.
RV : And he said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as the LORD shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam.
RSV : And he said to them, "Lodge here this night, and I will bring back word to you, as the LORD speaks to me"; so the princes of Moab stayed with Balaam.
ASV : And he said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as Jehovah shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam.
ESV : And he said to them, "Lodge here tonight, and I will bring back word to you, as the LORD speaks to me." So the princes of Moab stayed with Balaam.
ERVEN : Balaam said to them, "Stay here for the night. I will talk to the Lord and tell you the answer he gives me." So the leaders of Moab stayed there with Balaam that night.

BNV : ঈশ্বর বিলিয়মের কাছে এসে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, “তোমার সঙ্গের এই সমস্ত লোকরা কারা?”
KJV : And God came unto Balaam, and said, What men [are] these with thee?
YLT : And God cometh in unto Balaam, and saith, `Who [are] these men with thee?`
RV : And God came unto Balaam, and said, What men are these with thee?
RSV : And God came to Balaam and said, "Who are these men with you?"

BNV : বিলিয়ম ঈশ্বরকে বললেন, “মোয়াবের রাজা, সিপ্পোরের পুত্র বালাক আমাকে একটি সংবাদ দেওয়ার জন্য এদের পাঠিয়েছেন|
KJV : And Balaam said unto God, Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, hath sent unto me, [saying, ]

ERVEN : Balaam said to God, "The king of Moab, Balak son of Zippor, sent them to give me a message.

BNV : এই সেই বার্তা: “মিশর থেকে এক নতুন জাতি এসেছে| সেখানে তাদের সংখ্যা এতো বেশী যে তারা সমস্ত দেশটাকে ভরে দেবে| সুতরাং আপনি আসুন এবং এই সমস্ত লোকদের অভিশাপ দিন| তাহলে হয়তো আমি তাদের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করতে সক্ষম হবো এবং তাদের আমার দেশ ত্যাগ করতে বাধ্য করতে পারবো|”
KJV : Behold, [there is] a people come out of Egypt, which covereth the face of the earth: come now, curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to overcome them, and drive them out.
YLT : Lo, the people that is coming out from Egypt and covereth the eye of the land, -- now come, pierce it for me; it may be I am able to fight against it, and have cast it out;`
RV : Behold, the people that is come out of Egypt, it covereth the face of the earth: now, come curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to fight against them, and shall drive them out.
RSV : `Behold, a people has come out of Egypt, and it covers the face of the earth; now come, curse them for me; perhaps I shall be able to fight against them and drive them out.'"
ASV : Behold, the people that is come out of Egypt, it covereth the face of the earth: now, come curse me them; peradventure I shall be able to fight against them, and shall drive them out.
ESV : 'Behold, a people has come out of Egypt, and it covers the face of the earth. Now come, curse them for me. Perhaps I shall be able to fight against them and drive them out.'"
ERVEN : This is the message: A new nation of people has come out of Egypt. There are so many people that they cover the land. So come and curse these people. Then maybe I will be able to fight them and force them to leave my land."

BNV : কিন্তু ঈশ্বর বিলিয়মকে বললেন, “তুমি অবশ্যই এদের সঙ্গে যাবে না| ওসব লোকর বিরুদ্ধে তোমার কথা বলা উচিত্‌ হবে না কারণ তারা আমার আশীর্বাদ প্রাপ্ত লোক|”
KJV : And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they [are] blessed.
YLT : and God saith unto Balaam, `Thou dost not go with them; thou dost not curse the people; for it [is] blessed.`

BNV : পরদিন সকালে উঠে বিলিয়ম বালাকের প্রেরিত নেতাদের বললেন, “তোমরা তোমাদের নিজেদের দেশে ফিরে যাও| প্রভু আমাকে তোমাদের সঙ্গে যেতে দেবেন না|”
KJV : And Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the LORD refuseth to give me leave to go with you.
YLT : And Balaam riseth in the morning, and saith unto the princes of Balak, `Go unto your land, for Jehovah is refusing to suffer me to go with you;`
RV : And Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the LORD refuseth to give me leave to go with you.
RSV : So Balaam rose in the morning, and said to the princes of Balak, "Go to your own land; for the LORD has refused to let me go with you."

ERVEN : The next morning Balaam got up and said to leaders from Balak, "Go back to your own country. The Lord will not let me go with you."

BNV : সুতরাং মোয়াবের নেতারা বালাকের কাছে ফিরে গিয়ে তাকে এই সব কথা জানালেন| তাঁরা বললেন, “বিলিয়ম, আমাদের সঙ্গে আসতে অস্বীকার করেছেন|”
KJV : And the princes of Moab rose up, and they went unto Balak, and said, Balaam refuseth to come with us.

BNV : সুতরাং বালাক বিলিয়মের কাছে প্রথমবারের থেকেও বেশী লোক পাঠালেন| প্রথমবার তিনি যাদের পাঠিয়েছিলেন তাদের থেকেও এবারের নেতারা ছিলেন অনেক বেশী গুরুত্বপূর্ণ|
KJV : And Balak sent yet again princes, more, and more honourable than they.

ERVEN : So Balak sent other leaders to Balaam. This time he sent many more than the first time. And these leaders were much more important than the first ones he sent.

BNV : তাঁরা বিলিয়মের কাছে গিয়ে বললেন: “সিপ্পোরের পুত্র বালাক আপনাকে এই কথা বলেছেন: দয়া করে এখানে আসুন এবং কোন কিছুই যেন আমার কাছে আপনার আসা থামিয়ে না দেয|
KJV : And they came to Balaam, and said to him, Thus saith Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray thee, hinder thee from coming unto me:
YLT : and they come in unto Balaam, and say to him, `Thus said Balak son of Zippor, Be not, I pray thee, withheld from coming unto me,

ERVEN : They went to Balaam and said: "Balak son of Zippor says this to you: Please don't let anything stop you from coming.

BNV : আমি আপনাকে প্রচুর পারিশ্রমিক দেবো এবং আপনি যা বলবেন আমি তাই-ই করব| আমার জন্যে আপনি আসুন এবং এসে এই লোকদের বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলুন|”
KJV : For I will promote thee unto very great honour, and I will do whatsoever thou sayest unto me: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people.
YLT : for very greatly I honour thee, and all that thou sayest unto me I do; and come, I pray thee, pierce for me this people.`
RV : for I will promote thee unto very great honour, and whatsoever thou sayest unto me I will do: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people.

BNV : বিলিয়ম বালাকের প্রেরিত দূতকে তার উত্তর জানিয়ে দিয়ে বললেন, “আমি আমার প্রভু ঈশ্বরকে অবশ্যই মান্য করবো| আমি তাঁর আদেশের বিরুদ্ধে কোনো কাজ করতে পারি না| আমি বড় বা ছোট কোনো কাজই করবো না যদি না প্রভু আমাকে সেই কাজ করার অনুমতি দেন| রাজা বালাক যদি তার রূপো এবং সোনা খচিত সুন্দর প্রাসাদটি আমাকে দিয়ে দেন তাহলেও আমি প্রভুর আদেশের বিরুদ্ধে কোনো কাজ করবো না|
KJV : And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more.
YLT : And Balaam answereth and saith unto the servants of Balak, `If Balak doth give to me the fulness of his house of silver and gold, I am not able to pass over the command of Jehovah my God, to do a little or a great thing;
RV : And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more.
RSV : But Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, "Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the command of the LORD my God, to do less or more.
ASV : And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of Jehovah my God, to do less or more.
ESV : But Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, "Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the command of the LORD my God to do less or more.
ERVEN : Balaam gave Balak's officials his answer. He said, "I must obey the Lord my God.

BNV : কিন্তু তোমরা অন্যান্যদের মতোই আজকের রাত্রিটা এখানে থাকতে পারো| তাহলে এই রাত্রিকালের মধ্যেই প্রভু আমাকে যা বলতে চান তা জানতে পারবো|”
KJV : Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this night, that I may know what the LORD will say unto me more.
YLT : and, now, abide, I pray you, in this [place], you also, to-night; and I know what Jehovah is adding to speak with me.`
RV : Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this night, that I may know what the LORD will speak unto me more.
RSV : Pray, now, tarry here this night also, that I may know what more the LORD will say to me."
ASV : Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this night, that I may know what Jehovah will speak unto me more.
ESV : So you, too, please stay here tonight, that I may know what more the LORD will say to me."
ERVEN : But you can stay here tonight like the other men did, and during the night I will learn what the Lord wants to tell me."

BNV : সেই রাত্রে ঈশ্বর বিলিয়মের কাছে এসে বললেন, “এই সমস্ত লোকরা তাদের সঙ্গে যাওয়ার কথা বলার জন্য পুনরায এসেছে| সুতরাং তুমি তাদের সঙ্গে যেতে পারো| কিন্তু আমি তোমাকে যা করতে বলবো তুমি কেবলমাত্র সেই কাজই করবে|”
KJV : And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, [and] go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do.
YLT : And God cometh in unto Balaam, by night, and saith to him, `If to call for thee the men have come, rise, go with them, and only the thing which I speak unto thee -- it thou dost do.`

ERVEN : Balaam was riding on his donkey. Two of his servants were with him. While Balaam was traveling, God became angry. So the Lord's angel stood in the road in front of Balaam to stop Balaam.

ERVEN : When Balaam's donkey saw the Lord's angel standing in the road with a sword in his hand, the donkey turned from the road and went into the field. Balaam could not see the angel, so he was very angry at the donkey. He hit the donkey and forced it to go back on the road.

ESV : Balaam said to Balak, "Behold, I have come to you! Have I now any power of my own to speak anything? The word that God puts in my mouth, that must I speak."
ERVEN : Balaam answered, "Well, I am here now. I came, but I might not be able to do what you asked. I can only say the words that the Lord God tells me to say."

BNV : বালাক কিছু গবাদি পশু এবং মেষ বলিদান করে সেই মাংসের কিছুটা বিলিয়মকে এবং তার সঙ্গী নেতাদের দিলেন|
KJV : And Balak offered oxen and sheep, and sent to Balaam, and to the princes that [were] with him.
YLT : and Balak sacrificeth oxen and sheep, and sendeth to Balaam, and to the princes who [are] with him;

BNV : পরদিন সকালে বালাক বিলিয়মকে নিয়ে ব্যামোথ বালে গেলে সেখান থেকে তাঁরা ইস্রায়েলীয়দের শিবিরের কিছুটা দেখতে পেলেন|
KJV : And it came to pass on the morrow, that Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal, that thence he might see the utmost [part] of the people.
YLT : and it cometh to pass in the morning, that Balak taketh Balaam, and causeth him to go up the high places of Baal, and he seeth from thence the extremity of the people.
RV : And it came to pass in the morning, that Balak took Balaam, and brought him up into the high places of Baal, and he saw from thence the utmost part of the people.
RSV : And on the morrow Balak took Balaam and brought him up to Bamothbaal; and from there he saw the nearest of the people.

ESV : And in the morning Balak took Balaam and brought him up to Bamoth-baal, and from there he saw a fraction of the people.
ERVEN : The next morning Balak took Balaam to the town of Bamoth Baal. From there they could see part of the Israelite camp.
