BNV : দুদিন পরে নিস্তারপর্ব এবং খামিরবিহীন রুটির উত্‌সব পর্ব৷প্রধান যাজকরা এবং ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষকরা সেই সময়ে তাঁকে কেমন করে ছলে বলে গ্রেপ্তার করে মেরে ফেলতে পারে তারই চেষ্টা করছিলেন৷
KJV : After two days was [the feast of] the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put [him] to death.
YLT : And the passover and the unleavened food were after two days, and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how, by guile, having taken hold of him, they might kill him;

ERVEN : It was now only two days before the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread. The leading priests and teachers of the law were trying to find a way to arrest Jesus without the people seeing it. Then they could kill him.

BNV : তাঁরা বললেন, ‘উত্‌সবের সময় আমরা এটা করব না, কারণ তাতে লোকেদের মধ্যে গণ্ডগোল বেধে যাতে পারে৷’
KJV : But they said, Not on the feast [day,] lest there be an uproar of the people.
YLT : and they said, `Not in the feast, lest there shall be a tumult of the people.`
RV : for they said, Not during the feast, lest haply there shall be a tumult of the people.

ERVEN : They said, "But we cannot arrest Jesus during the festival. We don't want the people to be angry and cause a riot."

BNV : যখন তিনি বৈথনিযাতে কুষ্ঠী শিমোনের বাড়িতে ছিলেন, তখন তিনি খেতে বসলে একটি স্ত্রীলোক শ্বেত পাথরের শিশিতে দামী সুগন্ধি জটামাংসীর তেলনিয়ে এল৷ সে শিশিটি ভেঙ্গে তাঁর মাথায় সেই তেল ঢেলে দিল৷
KJV : And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured [it] on his head.
YLT : And he, being in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, at his reclining (at meat), there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment, of spikenard, very precious, and having broken the alabaster box, did pour on his head;

ERVEN : Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper. While he was eating there, a woman came to him. She had an alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume made of pure nard. She opened the jar and poured the perfume on Jesus' head.

BNV : কিছু লোক এতে খুব রেগে গিয়ে নিজেদের মধ্যে বলাবলি করল, ‘সুগন্ধি তেলের অপচয় করা হল কেন?
KJV : And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?
YLT : and there were certain much displeased within themselves, and saying, `For what hath this waste of the ointment been made?
RV : But there were some that had indignation among themselves, {cf15i saying}, To what purpose hath this waste of the ointment been made?
RSV : But there were some who said to themselves indignantly, "Why was the ointment thus wasted?

ERVEN : Some of the followers there saw this. They were upset and complained to each other. They said, "Why waste that perfume?

BNV : এই তেল তো তিনশো দীনারের বেশী দামে বিক্রি করা য়েত এবং সেই টাকা গরীবদের দেওযা য়েত৷’ আর তারা স্ত্রীলোকটির কঠোর সমালোচনা করল৷
KJV : For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
YLT : for this could have been sold for more than three hundred denaries, and given to the poor;` and they were murmuring at her.
RV : For this ointment might have been sold for above three hundred pence, and given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
RSV : For this ointment might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and given to the poor." And they reproached her.
ASV : For this ointment might have been sold for above three hundred shillings, and given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

ERVEN : It was worth a full year's pay. It could have been sold and the money given to those who are poor." And they told the woman what a bad thing she had done.

BNV : কিন্তু যীশু বললেন, ‘ওকে য়েতে দাও৷ তোমরা কেন ওকে দুঃখ দিচ্ছ? সে তো আমার জন্য ভাল কাজই করেছে৷
KJV : And Jesus said, {SCJ}Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. {SCJ.}
YLT : And Jesus said, `Let her alone; why are ye giving her trouble? a good work she wrought on me;

BNV : কারণ গরীবরা তোমাদের কাছে সবসময় আসে, তোমরা যখন ইচ্ছা তাদের উপকার করতে পার; কিন্তু আমাকে তোমরা সবসময় পাবে না৷
KJV : {SCJ}For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. {SCJ.}
YLT : for the poor always ye have with you, and whenever ye may will ye are able to do them good, but me ye have not always;
RV : For ye have the poor always with you, and whensoever ye will ye can do them good: but me ye have not always.

BNV : সে যা করতে পারত তাই করেছে৷ সে আগে থেকে সমাধির উদ্দেশ্যে আমার গায়ে সুগন্ধি তেল ঢেলে দিয়েছে৷
KJV : {SCJ}She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. {SCJ.}
YLT : what she could she did, she anticipated to anoint my body for the embalming.

ERVEN : This woman did the only thing she could do for me. She poured perfume on my body before I die to prepare it for burial.

BNV : আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, জগতে য়েখানেই আমার সুসমাচার প্রচার করা হবে, সেখানেই এই স্ত্রীলোকটির স্মরণার্থে তার কাজের কথা বলা হবে৷’
KJV : {SCJ}Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, [this] also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her. {SCJ.}
YLT : Verily I say to you, wherever this good news may be proclaimed in the whole world, what also this woman did shall be spoken of -- for a memorial of her.`
RV : And verily I say unto you, Wheresoever the gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, that also which this woman hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
RSV : And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is preached in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her."

ERVEN : The Good News will be told to people all over the world. And I can assure you that everywhere the Good News is told, the story of what this woman did will also be told, and people will remember her."

BNV : তখন সেই বারোজনের মধ্যে একজন যিহূদা ঈষ্করিযোতীয় প্রধান যাজকদের কাছে যীশুকে ধরিয়ে দেবার মতলবে গেল৷
KJV : And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.

BNV : তারা এই কথা শুনে খুব খুশী হলো এবং তাকে টাকা দেবে বলে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিল৷ তখন সে যীশুকে ধরিয়ে দেবার জন্য সুয়োগ খুঁজতে লাগল৷
KJV : And when they heard [it,] they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

BNV : খামিরবিহীন রুটির পর্বের প্রথম দিন, য়েদিন ইহুদীরা মেষ উত্‌সর্গ করত, সেইদিন তাঁর শিষ্যেরা তাঁকে বললেন, ‘আমরা কোথায় গিয়ে আপনার জন্য ভোজ প্রস্তুত করব, আপনার ইচ্ছা কি?’
KJV : And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?
YLT : And the first day of the unleavened food, when they were killing the passover, his disciples say to him, `Where wilt thou, [that,] having gone, we may prepare, that thou mayest eat the passover?`

ERVEN : It was now the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread —the day the lambs were killed for the Passover. Jesus' followers came to him and said, "We will go and prepare everything for you to eat the Passover meal. Where do you want us to have the meal?"

BNV : সে য়ে বাড়িতে ঢুকবে সেই বাড়ির মালিককে বলবে, ‘গুরু বলেছেন, সেই অতিথির ঘর কোথায় য়েখানে আমি আমার শিষ্যদের সাথে নিস্তারপর্বের ভোজ খেতে পারি৷’
KJV : {SCJ}And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? {SCJ.}
YLT : and wherever he may go in, say ye to the master of the house -- The Teacher saith, Where is the guest-chamber, where the passover, with my disciples, I may eat?
RV : and wheresoever he shall enter in, say to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is my guest-chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

ERVEN : He will go into a house. Tell the owner of the house, 'The Teacher asks that you show us the room where he and his followers can eat the Passover meal.'

BNV : তখন সে ওপরের একটি বড় সাজানো গোছান ঘর দেখিয়ে দেবে৷ সেখানেই আমাদের জন্য ভোজ প্রস্তুত করো৷’
KJV : {SCJ}And he will shew you a large upper room furnished [and] prepared: there make ready for us. {SCJ.}

BNV : পরে শিষ্যরা সেখান থেকে শহরে চলে এলেন৷ তিনি য়েরকম বলেছিলেন তাঁরা ঠিক সেইরকম দেখতে পেলেন; আর নিস্তারপর্বের ভোজের আযোজন সেখানেই করলেন৷

BNV : সন্ধ্যে হলে সেই বারো জন প্রেরিতদের সাথে তিনি সেখানে এলেন৷
KJV : And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.

KJV : And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, {SCJ}Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me. {SCJ.}
YLT : and as they are reclining, and eating, Jesus said, `Verily I say to you -- one of you, who is eating with me -- shall deliver me up.`

BNV : এতে তাঁরা অত্যন্ত দুঃখ পেলেন এবং প্রত্যেকে এক এক করে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, ‘সে কি আমি?’
KJV : And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, [Is] it I? and another [said, Is] it I?

BNV : মানবপুত্রের ব্যাপারে শাস্ত্রে য়েমন লেখা আছে, ঠিক সেইভাবে তিনি চলে যাবেন৷ কিন্তু ধিক্ সেই লোকটিকে য়ে মানবপুত্রকে শত্রুর হাতে ধরিয়ে দেবে৷ সেই লোকটির জন্ম না হওযাই ভাল ছিল৷
KJV : {SCJ}The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born. {SCJ.}
YLT : the Son of Man doth indeed go, as it hath been written concerning him, but wo to that man through whom the Son of Man is delivered up; good were it to him if that man had not been born.`
RV : For the Son of man goeth, even as it is written of him: but woe unto that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had not been born.

ERVEN : The Son of Man will suffer what the Scriptures say will happen to him. But it will be very bad for the one who hands over the Son of Man to be killed. It would be better for him if he had never been born."

BNV : তাঁরা যখন খাচ্ছিলেন, সেই সময় তিনি রুটি নিয়ে ঈশ্বরকে ধন্যবাদ দিলেন৷ রুটি খানি ছিঁড়ে টুকরো টুকরো করে তা শিষ্যদের দিয়ে বললেন, ‘এটা নাও: এটা আমার শরীর৷’
KJV : And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake [it,] and gave to them, and said, {SCJ}Take, eat: this is my body. {SCJ.}
YLT : And as they are eating, Jesus having taken bread, having blessed, brake, and gave to them, and said, `Take, eat; this is my body.`

BNV : তারপর তিনি পেযালা তুলে ঈশ্বরকে ধন্যবাদ দিয়ে শিষ্যদের হাতে দিলেন৷ আর তাঁরা সকলে তা থেকে পান করলেন৷

ERVEN : Then he said, "This wine is my blood, which will be poured out for many to begin the new agreement from God to his people.
