BNV : যাজক ইলীয়াসর, নূনের পুত্র যিহোশূয় এবং ইস্রায়েলের পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর প্রধানরা লোকদের মধ্যে জমিটি ভাগ করে দিল|
KJV : And these [are the countries] which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them.
YLT : And these [are] they [of] the sons of Israel who inherited in the land of Canaan, whom Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel, caused to inherit;

ERVEN : Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders of all the tribes of Israel decided what land to give to the people.

BNV : বহুকাল আগে প্রভু মোশিকে কি ভাবে তাঁর ইচ্ছেমতো লোকরা নিজেদের জমি জায়গা বেছে নেবে সে বিষয়ে নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলেন| সাড়ে নটি পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর লোক ঘুঁটি চেলেজমি পেয়েছিল|
KJV : By lot [was] their inheritance, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and [for] the half tribe.
YLT : by lot [is] their inheritance, as Jehovah commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine of the tribes, and the half of the tribe;

ERVEN : The Lord had commanded Moses long ago how he wanted the people to choose their land. The people of the nine and a half tribes threw lots to decide which land they would get.

BNV : বারোটি পরিবারগোষ্ঠীকে জমিজায়গা দেওয়া হয়েছিল| য়োষেফের পুত্ররা মনঃশি ও ইফ্রয়িম এই দুটি পরিবারগোষ্ঠীতে ভাগ হয়ে গিয়েছিল| প্রত্যেক পরিবারগোষ্ঠীই কিছু জমি জায়গা পেয়েছিল| কিন্তু লেবি পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর লোকরা কোন জমিজায়গা পায়নি| তারা বসবাসের জন্য মাত্র কয়েকটি শহর পেয়েছিল| প্রত্যেক পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর জমি-জায়গার মধ্যেই এই সব শহরগুলি ছিল| পশুদের জন্য তারা মাঠও পেয়েছিল|
KJV : For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell [in,] with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.

ERVEN : The descendants of Joseph had divided into two tribes— Manasseh and Ephraim. Each of these tribes received some land; the tribe of Levi was not given any land. They were given only some towns scattered throughout the other tribes and some fields around those towns for their animals.

BNV : ইস্রায়েলীয় পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর মধ্যে কি করে জমি ভাগ বাঁটোযারা করে দিতে হবে প্রভু মোশিকে তা বলে দিয়েছিলেন| প্রভু য়েমন নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলেন সেই ভাবেই ইস্রায়েলবাসীরা জমি ভাগ করে নিয়েছিল|

BNV : একদিন যিহূদার পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর কয়েকজন লোক গিল্গলে গিয়েছিল য়িহোশূয়ের সঙ্গে দেখা করতে| এদের মধ্যে একজনের নাম কালেব| সে হচ্ছে কনিসীয য়িফুন্নির পুত্র| কালেব যিহোশূয়কে বলল, “আপনার মনে আছে প্রভু কাদেশ বর্ণেয়তে কি কি বলেছিলেন? প্রভু তাঁর দাস মোশিকে আমার এবং আপনার সম্বন্ধে বলেছিলেন|
KJV : Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadesh-barnea.
YLT : And the sons of Judah come nigh unto Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezzite saith unto him, `Thou hast known the word that Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses the man of God, concerning me and concerning thee in Kadesh-Barnea:
RV : Then the children of Judah drew nigh unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD spake unto Moses the man of God concerning me and concerning thee in Kadesh-barnea.

ESV : Then the people of Judah came to Joshua at Gilgal. And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, "You know what the LORD said to Moses the man of God in Kadesh-barnea concerning you and me.
ERVEN : One day some people from the tribe of Judah went to Joshua at Gilgal. One of them was Caleb, the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite. Caleb said to Joshua, "You remember what the Lord said at Kadesh Barnea. The Lord was speaking to Moses, his servant. The Lord was talking about you and me.

BNV : প্রভুর দাস মোশি আমরা য়ে দেশে যাচ্ছিলাম সেটা দেখবার জন্য আমাকে পাঠিয়েছিলেন| তখন আমার বযস ছিল 40| ফিরে এসে জায়গাটা সম্বন্ধে আমার মনোভাব আমি মোশিকে বলেছিলাম|
KJV : Forty years old [was] I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh-barnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as [it was] in mine heart.

ERVEN : Moses, the Lord's servant, sent me to look at the land where we were going. I was 40 years old at that time. When I came back, I told Moses what I thought about the land.

BNV : আমার সঙ্গীরা লোকদের এমন সব কথা বলল য়ে তারা ভয় পেয়ে গেল| কিন্তু আমি সত্য়িই বিশ্বাস করতাম য়ে প্রভু আমাদের সেই দেশ নেবার অনুমতি দেবেন|
KJV : Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
YLT : and my brethren who have gone up with me have caused the heart of the people to melt, and I have been fully after Jehovah my God;

ERVEN : The other men who went with me told the people things that made them afraid. But I really believed that the Lord would allow us to take that land.

BNV : তাই মোশি আমার কাছে সেদিন প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলেন| মোশি বললেন, ‘য়ে দেশে তোমরা গুপ্তচরবৃত্তি করতে গিয়েছিলে সে দেশ তোমাদেরই হবে| তোমার উত্তরপুরুষরা চিরকাল সে দেশ ভোগ করবে| আমি তোমাদের সে দেশ দেব, কারণ তুমি সত্য়িই আমার প্রভু ঈশ্বরকে বিশ্বাস করেছিলে|’
KJV : And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.
YLT : and Moses sweareth in that day, saying, If not -- the land on which thy foot hath trodden, to thee it is for inheritance, and to thy sons -- to the age, for thou hast been fully after Jehovah my God.

BNV : “এখন প্রভু তাঁর প্রতিশ্রুতি অনুসারে আমাকে 45 বছর বাঁচিয়ে রেখেছেন| এতদিন আমরা সকলে মরুভূমিতে ঘুরে বেড়াচ্ছিলাম| এখন আমার বযস 85 বছর|
KJV : And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while [the children of] Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I [am] this day fourscore and five years old.
YLT : `And, now, lo, Jehovah hath kept me alive, as He hath spoken, these forty and five years, since Jehovah spake this word unto Moses, when Israel went in the wilderness; and now, lo, I [am] to-day a son of five and eighty years;

ERVEN : "Now the Lord has kept me alive for 45 more years—like he said he would. During that time we all wandered in the desert. Now, here I am, 85 years old.

BNV : আজও আমি সেদিনের মতোই শক্ত সমর্থ য়েদিন মোশি আমাকে বাইরে পাঠিয়েছিলেন| সেই দিনের মতো আজও আমি যুদ্ধের জন্য তৈরী আছি|
KJV : As yet I [am as] strong this day as [I was] in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength [was] then, even so [is] my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
YLT : yet [am] I to-day strong as in the day of Moses` sending me; as my power then, so [is] my power now, for battle, and to go out, and to come in.

BNV : তাই বলছি বহুকাল আগে প্রভু যা প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলেন সেই অনুসারে পাহাড়ী দেশটা আমাকে দিন| আপনি জানতেন তখন সেখানে শক্তিশালী অনাক বংশীয লোকরা বসবাস করত| শহরগুলো ছিল বেশ বড় আর সুরক্ষিত| কিন্তু এখন প্রভু আমার সহায় এবং প্রভুর কথামতো সেই দেশের ভার আমি নেব|”
KJV : Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims [were] there, and [that] the cities [were] great [and] fenced: if so be the LORD [will be] with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.
YLT : `And now, give to me this hill-country, of which Jehovah spake in that day, for thou didst hear in that day, for Anakim [are] there, and cities, great, fenced; if so be Jehovah [is] with me, then I have dispossessed them, as Jehovah hath spoken.`

ERVEN : So give me the hill country that the Lord promised me that day long ago. At that time you heard that the strong Anakites lived there and the cities were very big and well protected. But now, maybe the Lord will be with me, and I will take that land like the Lord said."

BNV : য়িফুন্নির পুত্র কালেবকে যিহোশূয় আশীর্বাদ করলেন| তিনি তাকে দিলেন হিব্রোণ শহর|
KJV : And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
YLT : And Joshua blesseth him, and giveth Hebron to Caleb son of Jephunneh for an inheritance,
RV : And Joshua blessed him; and he gave Hebron unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.

KJV : Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.
YLT : therefore hath Hebron been to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenezzite for an inheritance unto this day, because that he was fully after Jehovah, God of Israel;

BNV : আগে সেই শহরটার নাম ছিল কিরিযত্‌-অর্ব| অনাক বংশীয লোকেদের মধ্যে দানবীয চেহারার বৃহত্তম মানুষ অর্বর নামেই সেই শহরের নাম রাখা হয়েছিল| এরপর সে দেশে শান্তি বিরাজ করল|
KJV : And the name of Hebron before [was] Kirjath-arba; [which Arba was] a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.

ERVEN : In the past that city was called Kiriath Arba. It was named for the greatest man among the Anakites—a man named Arba. After this there was peace in the land.
