BNV : তখন প্রভু আবার য়োনার সঙ্গে কথা বললেন,
KJV : And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

BNV : “ঐ বৃহত শহর নীনবীতে যাও এবং আমি তোম4াকে যা বলি তাই প্রচার কর|”
KJV : Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
YLT : `Rise, go unto Nineveh, the great city, and proclaim unto it the proclamation that I am speaking unto thee;`
RV : Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
RSV : "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and proclaim to it the message that I tell you."

BNV : তাই য়োনা প্রভুর আজ্ঞাপালন করলেন এবং নীবনীতে গেলেন| নীহনী ছিল বেশ বড় শহর| শহরটাতে ঘুরতে এক জন লোকের তিন দিন সময় লাগত|
KJV : So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days’ journey.
YLT : and Jonah riseth, and he goeth unto Nineveh, according to the word of Jehovah. And Nineveh hath been a great city before God, a journey of three days.

ERVEN : So Jonah obeyed the Lord and went to Nineveh. It was a very large city. A person had to walk for three days to travel through it.

BNV : য়োনা শহরটির কেন্দ্র স্থলে গিয়ে জনসাধারণকে দর্মোপদেশ দিতে আরম্ভ করলেন| য়োনা বললেন, “আর 40 দিন পর, নীবনী ধ্বংস হয়ে যাবে!”
KJV : And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
YLT : And Jonah beginneth to go in to the city a journey of one day, and proclaimeth, and saith, `Yet forty days -- and Nineveh is overturned.`

BNV : নীবনীবাসীরা ঈশ্বরের কাছ থেকে এই বার্তা পেয়ে বিশ্বাস করল| লোকরা কিছু সময়ের জন্যে খাওয়া দেওয়া বন্ধ করে তাদের পাপ কাজ সম্বন্ধে চিন্তা করল| লোকরা তাদের দুঃখ প্রকাশ করার জন্য বিশেষ ধরণের জামা কাপোড় পরল| শহরের সব লোকরাই তা করল-মহান থেকে সাধারণ সকলেই|
KJV : So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

ERVEN : The people of Nineveh believed God. They decided to stop eating for a time to think about their sins. They put on special clothes to show they were sorry. All the people in the city did this, from the most important to the least important.

BNV : নীবনীর রাজা এই কথাগুলো শুনলেন এবং তিনি নিজেও তার নিজের খারাপ কাজের জন্য দুঃখিত হলেন| সেজন্য রাজা তাঁর সিংহাসন ছেড়ে দিলেন| তার বিশেষ পোশাকও ছেড়ে ফেললেন এবং তিনি য়ে দুঃখিত তা দেখাবার জন্য বিশেষ ধরনের পোশাক পরলেন| তারপর রাজা ছাইযের মধ্যে বসলেন|
KJV : For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered [him] with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
YLT : seeing the word doth come unto the king of Nineveh, and he riseth from his throne, and removeth his honourable robe from off him, and spreadeth out sackcloth, and sitteth on the ashes,

BNV : রাজা একটি বিশ্ষ বার্তা লিথে বার্তাটি শহরে প্রেরন করলেন:কিছু সময়ের জন্য লোকরা পালকে মাঠে চরতে দেওয়া হবে না| নীবনীতে জীবিত কিছুই কোন খাদ্য বে পানীয় খাবে না|
KJV : And he caused [it] to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
YLT : and he crieth and saith in Nineveh by a decree of the king and his great ones, saying, `Man and beast, herd and flock -- let them not taste anything, let them not feed, even water let them not drink;

ERVEN : The king wrote a special message and sent it throughout the city: A command from the king and his great rulers: For a short time no person or animal should eat anything. No herd or flock will be allowed in the fields. Nothing living in Nineveh will eat or drink water.

BNV : কিন্তু প্রত্যেক লোক এবং প্রত্যেক পশু তার দুঃখ প্রকাশ করার জন্য একটি বিশেষ পোশাক পরবে| লোককে ঈশ্বরের কাছে উচ্চস্বরে কাঁদতে হবে| প্রত্যেক লোকের জীবনযাত্রার পদ্ধতি পরিহর্তন করতে হবে এবং তারা খরাপ কাজ করা বন্ধ করবে|
KJV : But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that [is] in their hands.

ERVEN : But every person and every animal must be covered with a special cloth to show they are sad. People must cry loudly to God. Everyone must change their life and stop doing bad things.

BNV : তখন ইশ্বরও হয়তো পরিবর্তিত হবেন এবং তিনি য়ে কাজ করার কথা ভেবেছিলেন তা করবেন না| হয়তো ঈশ্বও বদলে যাবেন এবং ক্রুদ্ধ হবেন না| তাহলে আমরা ক্ষযপ্রাপ্ত হব না|
KJV : Who can tell [if] God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
YLT : Who knoweth? He doth turn back, and God hath repented, and hath turned back from the heat of His anger, and we do not perish.`
RV : Who knoweth whether God will not turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
RSV : Who knows, God may yet repent and turn from his fierce anger, so that we perish not?"
ASV : Who knoweth whether God will not turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
ESV : Who knows? God may turn and relent and turn from his fierce anger, so that we may not perish."
ERVEN : Who knows? Maybe God will stop being angry and change his mind, and we will not be punished.

BNV : লোকে য়ে সব কাজ করেছে তা ঈশ্বর দেখেছিলেন| ঈশ্ব দেখলেন য়ে, লোকে খারাপ কাজ করা বন্ধ করেছে| কাজেই ঈশ্ব বদলে গিয়েছিলেন এবং যা ভেবেছিলেন তা করলেন না| লোককে ঈশ্বর শাস্তিও দিলেন না|
KJV : And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did [it] not.
YLT : And God seeth their works, that they have turned back from their evil way, and God repenteth of the evil that He spake of doing to them, and he hath not done [it].

ERVEN : God saw what the people did. He saw that they stopped doing evil. So God changed his mind and did not do what he planned. He did not punish the people.
