BNV : এই প্রার্থনার পর যীশু তাঁর শিষ্যদের নিয়ে কিদ্রোণ উপত্যকার ওপারে চলে গেলেন৷ সেখানে একটি বাগান ছিল৷ যীশু তাঁর শিষ্যদের নিয়ে সেই বাগানের মধ্যে ঢুকলেন৷
KJV : When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.
YLT : These things having said, Jesus went forth with his disciples beyond the brook of Kedron, where was a garden, into which he entered, himself and his disciples,
RV : When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, himself and his disciples.

BNV : যীশু তাঁর শিষ্যদের নিয়ে প্রায়ই সেখানে আসতেন৷ এইজন্য যিহূদা সেই স্থানটি জানত৷ এই যিহূদা যীশুর সঙ্গে প্রতারণা করেছিল৷
KJV : And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
YLT : and Judas also, who delivered him up, had known the place, because many times did Jesus assemble there with his disciples.

BNV : সে ফরীশীদের ও প্রধান যাজকদের কাছ থেকে একদল সৈনিক ও কিছু রক্ষী নিয়ে সেখানে এল৷ তাদের হাতে ছিল মশাল, লন্ঠন ও নানা অস্ত্র৷
KJV : Judas then, having received a band [of men] and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
YLT : Judas, therefore, having taken the band and officers out of the chief priests and Pharisees, doth come thither with torches and lamps, and weapons;

BNV : তখন যীশু, তাঁর প্রতি কি ঘটতে চলেছে সে সবই তাঁর জানা থাকার ফলে এগিয়ে গিয়ে বললেন, ‘তোমরা কাকে খুঁজছ?’
KJV : Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, {SCJ}Whom seek ye? {SCJ.}
YLT : Jesus, therefore, knowing all things that are coming upon him, having gone forth, said to them, `Whom do ye seek?`

BNV : তারা তাঁকে বলল, ‘নাসরতীয় যীশুকে৷’যীশু বললেন, ‘আমিই তিনি৷’ য়ে যিহূদা যীশুর বিরুদ্ধে গিয়েছিল সেও তাদেরই সঙ্গে সেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল৷
KJV : They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, {SCJ}I am [he.]{SCJ.} And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

BNV : তাই আবার একবার তিনি তাদের জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, ‘তোমরা কাকে খুঁজছ?’তারা বলল, ‘নাসরতীয় যীশুকে৷’
KJV : Then asked he them again, {SCJ}Whom seek ye?{SCJ.} And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.

BNV : এর উত্তরে যীশু বললেন, ‘আমি তো তোমাদের আগেই বলেছি, ‘আমিই তিনি৷’ সুতরাং যদি তোমরা আমাকেই খুঁজছ, তাহলে এদের য়েতে দাও৷’
KJV : Jesus answered, {SCJ}I have told you that I am [he:] if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way: {SCJ.}
YLT : Jesus answered, `I said to you that I am [he]; if, then, me ye seek, suffer these to go away;`

BNV : এটা ঘটল যাতে তাঁর আগের বক্তব্য যথার্থ প্রতিপন্ন হয়, ‘তুমি আমায় যাদের দিয়েছ তাদের কাউকে আমি হারাই নি৷’
KJV : That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, {SCJ}Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none. {SCJ.}
YLT : that the word might be fulfilled that he said -- `Those whom Thou hast given to me, I did not lose of them even one.`
RV : that the word might be fulfilled which he spake, Of those whom thou hast given me I lost not one.
RSV : This was to fulfil the word which he had spoken, "Of those whom thou gavest me I lost not one."
ASV : that the word might be fulfilled which he spake, Of those whom thou hast given me I lost not one.
ESV : This was to fulfill the word that he had spoken: "Of those whom you gave me I have lost not one."
ERVEN : This was to show the truth of what Jesus said earlier: "I have not lost anyone you gave me."

BNV : তখন শিমোন পিতরের কাছে একটা তরোয়াল থাকায় তিনি সেটা টেনে বের করে মহাযাজকের চাকরকে আঘাত করে তার ডান কান কেটে ফেললেন৷ সেই চাকরের নাম মল্ক৷
KJV : Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.
YLT : Simon Peter, therefore, having a sword, drew it, and struck the chief priest`s servant, and cut off his right ear -- and the name of the servant was Malchus --

BNV : তখন যীশু পিতরকে বললেন, ‘তোমার তরোযাল খাপে ভরো, য়ে পানপাত্র পিতা আমায় দিয়েছেন, আমাকে তা পান করতেই হবে৷’
KJV : Then said Jesus unto Peter, {SCJ}Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it? {SCJ.}
YLT : Jesus, therefore, said to Peter, `Put the sword into the sheath; the cup that the Father hath given to me, may I not drink it?`

BNV : এরপর সৈন্যরা ও তাদের সেনাপতি এবং ইহুদী রক্ষীরা যীশুকে গ্রেপ্তার করে বেঁধে প্রথমে হাননের কাছে নিয়ে গেল৷
KJV : Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,

BNV : এই কাযাফা ইহুদী নেতাদের পরামর্শ দিয়েছিলেন য়ে, জনস্বার্থে এক জনের মরণ হওযা ভালো৷
KJV : Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
YLT : and Caiaphas was he who gave counsel to the Jews, that it is good for one man to perish for the people.

BNV : শিমোন পিতর ও আর একজন শিষ্য যীশুর পেছনে পেছনে গেলেন৷ এই শিষ্যর সঙ্গে মহাযাজকের চেনা পরিচয় ছিল, তাই তিনি যীশুর সঙ্গে মহাযাজকের বাড়ির উঠোনে ঢুকলেন; কিন্তু পিতর ফটকের বাইরে দাঁড়িয়ে রইলেন৷
KJV : And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and [so did] another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.

BNV : তখন মহাযাজকের পরিচিত শিষ্য বাইরে এসে য়ে বালিকাটি ফটক পাহারায় ছিল তাকে বলে পিতরকে ভেতরে নিয়ে গেলেন৷
KJV : But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
YLT : and Peter was standing at the door without, therefore went forth the other disciple who was known to the chief priest, and he spake to the female keeping the door, and he brought in Peter.

BNV : তখন দ্বাররক্ষীরা পিতরকে বলল, ‘তুমিও সেই লোকটার শিষ্যদের মধ্যে একজন নও কি?’পিতর বললেন, ‘না, আমি নই!’
KJV : Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also [one] of this man’s disciples? He saith, I am not.
YLT : Then said the maid keeping the door to Peter, `Art thou also of the disciples of this man?` he saith, `I am not;`
RV : The maid therefore that kept the door saith unto Peter, Art thou also {cf15i one} of this man-s disciples? He saith, I am not.
RSV : The maid who kept the door said to Peter, "Are not you also one of this man's disciples?" He said, "I am not."

ESV : The servant girl at the door said to Peter, "You also are not one of this man's disciples, are you?" He said, "I am not."
ERVEN : The girl at the gate said to Peter, "Are you also one of the followers of that man?" Peter answered, "No, I am not!"

BNV : চাকররা ও মন্দিরের রক্ষীরা শীতের জন্য কাঠ কয়লার আগুন তৈরী করে তার চারপাশে দাঁড়িয়ে আগুন পোযাচ্ছিল৷ পিতরও তাদের সঙ্গে সেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে আগুন পোযাচ্ছিলেন৷
KJV : And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
YLT : and the servants and the officers were standing, having made a fire of coals, because it was cold, and they were warming themselves, and Peter was standing with them, and warming himself.

BNV : এরপর মহাযাজক যীশুকে তাঁর শিষ্যদের বিষয়ে ও তাঁর শিক্ষার বিষয়ে প্রশ্ন করতে লাগলেন৷
KJV : The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
YLT : The chief priests, therefore, questioned Jesus concerning his disciples, and concerning his teaching;

BNV : যীশু এর উত্তরে তাঁকে বললেন, ‘আমি সর্বদাই সকলের কাছে প্রকাশ্যে কথা বলেছি৷ আমি মন্দিরের মধ্যে ও সমাজ-গৃহেতে য়েখানে ইহুদীরা একসঙ্গে সমবেত হয় সেখানে সব সময় শিক্ষা দিয়েছি৷ আর আমি কখনও কোন কিছু গোপনে বলিনি৷
KJV : Jesus answered him, {SCJ}I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing. {SCJ.}
YLT : Jesus answered him, `I spake freely to the world, I did always teach in a synagogue, and in the temple, where the Jews do always come together; and in secret I spake nothing;

BNV : তোমরা আমায় কেন সে বিষয়ে প্রশ্ন করছ? যাঁরা আমার কথা শুনেছে তাদেরই জিজ্ঞেস কর আমি তাদের কি বলেছি৷ আমি কি বলেছি তারা নিশ্চয়ই জানবে!’
KJV : {SCJ}Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said. {SCJ.}
YLT : why me dost thou question? question those having heard what I spake to them; lo, these have known what I said.`
RV : Why askest thou me? ask them that have heard {cf15i me}, what I spake unto them: behold, these know the things which I said.
RSV : Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard me, what I said to them; they know what I said."

BNV : তিনি যখন একথা বলছেন, তখন সেই মন্দির রক্ষীবাহিনীর একজন য়ে সেখানে দাঁড়িয়েছিল সে যীশুকে এক চড় মেরে বলল, ‘তোর কি সাহস, তুই মহাযাজককে এরকম জবাব দিলি!’
KJV : And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?
YLT : And he having said these things, one of the officers standing by did give Jesus a slap, saying, `Thus dost thou answer the chief priest?`
RV : And when he had said this, one of the officers standing by struck Jesus with his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?

ERVEN : When Jesus said this, one of the guards standing there hit him. The guard said, "You should not talk to the high priest like that!"

BNV : এর উত্তরে যীশু তাকে বললেন, ‘আমি যদি অন্যায় কিছু বলে থাকি, তবে সকলকে বল কি অন্যায় বলেছি; কিন্তু আমি যদি সত্যি কথা বলে থাকি তাহলে তোমরা আমায় মারছ কেন?’
KJV : Jesus answered him, {SCJ}If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me? {SCJ.}
YLT : Jesus answered him, `If I spake ill, testify concerning the ill; and if well, why me dost thou smite?`
