BNV : মিশরে বসবাসকারী যিহূদার লোকদের জন্য প্রভুর বার্তা এসেছিল যিরমিয়র কাছে| যিহূদার লোকরা তখন মিশরের মিগ্দোলে, তফন্হেষে, নোফে এবং দক্ষিণ মিশরের শহরগুলিতে বসবাস করছিল| প্রভুর বার্তা ছিল:
KJV : The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,
YLT : The word that hath been unto Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who are dwelling in the land of Egypt -- who are dwelling in Migdol, and in Tahpanhes, and in Noph, and in the land of Pathros -- saying,

ASV : The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews that dwelt in the land of Egypt, that dwelt at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Memphis, and in the country of Pathros, saying,
ESV : The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Judeans who lived in the land of Egypt, at Migdol, at Tahpanhes, at Memphis, and in the land of Pathros,
ERVEN : Jeremiah received a message from the Lord for all the people of Judah living in Egypt. The message was for the people of Judah living in the towns of Migdol, Tahpanhes, Memphis, and southern Egypt. This was the message:

BNV : প্রভু সর্বশক্তিমান ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর বলেছেন, “তোমরা ইতিমধ্যে দেখতে পেয়েছো জেরুশালেম ও যিহূদার শহরগুলিকে আমি কি ভাবে ধ্বংসস্তূপে পরিণত করেছি|
KJV : Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they [are] a desolation, and no man dwelleth therein,
YLT : `Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: Ye -- ye have seen all the evil that I have brought in on Jerusalem, and on all the cities of Judah, and lo, they [are] a waste this day, and there is none dwelling in them,
RV : Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwelleth therein;
RSV : "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: You have seen all the evil that I brought upon Jerusalem and upon all the cities of Judah. Behold, this day they are a desolation, and no one dwells in them,
ASV : Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwelleth therein,
ESV : "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: You have seen all the disaster that I brought upon Jerusalem and upon all the cities of Judah. Behold, this day they are a desolation, and no one dwells in them,
ERVEN : "This is what the Lord All-Powerful, the God of Israel, says: You people saw the disasters that I brought on the city of Jerusalem and on all the towns of Judah. The towns are empty piles of stones today.

BNV : ঐ শহরগুলির লোকরা অসত্‌ কার্য়কলাপসমূহের মধ্যে লিপ্ত ছিল, সেই কারণেই আমি ঐ শহরগুলিকে ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছি| ঐ শহরগুলির লোকরা অন্য দেবতাদের নৈবেদ্য দিয়ে আমাকে রুদ্ধ করে তুলেছিল| যাদের তাদের পূর্বপুরুষরাও পূজো করেনি এবং তাতেই আমার রাগ হয়ে গিয়েছিল|
KJV : Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, [and] to serve other gods, whom they knew not, [neither] they, ye, nor your fathers.
YLT : because of their wickedness that they have done, by provoking Me to anger, by going to make perfume, by serving other gods, that they knew not, they, ye, and your fathers.
RV : because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, {cf15i and} to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, nor ye, nor your fathers.
RSV : because of the wickedness which they committed, provoking me to anger, in that they went to burn incense and serve other gods that they knew not, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.
ASV : because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, that they knew not, neither they, nor ye, nor your fathers.
ESV : because of the evil that they committed, provoking me to anger, in that they went to make offerings and serve other gods that they knew not, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.
ERVEN : They were destroyed because the people living in them did evil. They gave sacrifices to other gods, and that made me angry! Your people and your ancestors did not worship those gods in the past.

BNV : আমি তাদের কাছে বার বার আমার ভাব্বাদীদের পাঠিয়েছিলাম, ভাব্বাদীরা আমারই অনুচর| ঐ ভাব্বাদীরা আমার বার্তা ঐ লোকদের কাছে বলেছিল| ভাব্বাদীরা বলেছিল, ‘এই ভয়ঙ্কর কাজ করো না| অন্য মূর্ত্তিদের পূজাকে আমি ঘৃণা করি|’
KJV : Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending [them,] saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.
YLT : `And I send unto you all my servants, the prophets, rising early and sending, saying: I pray you, do not this abomination that I have hated --
RV : Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.
RSV : Yet I persistently sent to you all my servants the prophets, saying, 'Oh, do not do this abominable thing that I hate!'
ASV : Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.
ESV : Yet I persistently sent to you all my servants the prophets, saying, 'Oh, do not do this abomination that I hate!'
ERVEN : I sent my servants, the prophets, to those people again and again. They spoke my message and said to the people, 'Don't do this terrible thing. I hate for you to worship idols. '

BNV : কিন্তু ঐ লোকরা ভাব্বাদীদের কথা মন দিয়ে শোনে নি| তারা অসত্‌ পথ থেকে সরে আসেনি| মূর্ত্তিদের নৈবেদ্য সাজিযে পূজো করা বন্ধ করেনি|
KJV : But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.
YLT : and they have not hearkened nor inclined their ear, to turn back from their wickedness, not to make perfume to other gods,
RV : But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.
RSV : But they did not listen or incline their ear, to turn from their wickedness and burn no incense to other gods.

ERVEN : But they didn't listen to the prophets or pay attention to them. They didn't stop doing wicked things. They didn't stop making sacrifices to other gods.

BNV : তাই আমি আমার রোধ দেখিয়েছিলাম| শাস্তি দিয়েছিলাম যিহূদার শহরগুলিকে এবং জেরুশালেমের রাস্তাগুলিকে| আমার রোধ বর্ষণের ফলেই আজ যিহূদা ও জেরুশালেম শহর ধ্বংসস্তূপে পরিণত হয়েছে|”
KJV : Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted [and] desolate, as at this day.
YLT : and poured out is My fury, and Mine anger, and it burneth in cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, and they are for a waste, for a desolation, as [at] this day.
RV : Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as it is this day.

ERVEN : So I showed my anger against them. I punished the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem. My anger made Jerusalem and the towns of Judah the empty piles of stone they are today.

BNV : তাই প্রভু সর্বশক্তিমান ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর বলেছেন, “কেন তোমরা মূর্ত্তিদের পূজা করে নিজেদের সর্বনাশ ডেকে আনছো? তোমাদের জন্যই যিহূদার পরিবার ছিন্নমূল, তোমাদের জন্যই স্ত্রী, পুরুষ এবং শিশুদের যিহূদা থেকে আলাদা করা হয়েছে| এবং সেই জন্য যিহূদার পরিবার থেকে জীবিত কেউ বাকী থাকবে না|
KJV : Therefore now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye [this] great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
YLT : `And, now, thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: Why are ye doing great evil unto your own souls, to cut off to you man and woman, infant and suckling, from the midst of Judah, so as not to leave to you a remnant:
RV : Therefore now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Wherefore commit ye {cf15i this} great evil against your own souls, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and suckling, out of the midst of Judah, to leave you none remaining;
RSV : And now thus says the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel: Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and child, from the midst of Judah, leaving you no remnant?
ASV : Therefore now thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your own souls, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and suckling, out of the midst of Judah, to leave you none remaining;
ESV : And now thus says the Lord GOD of hosts, the God of Israel: Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and child, from the midst of Judah, leaving you no remnant?
ERVEN : "So this is what the Lord God All- Powerful, the God of Israel, says: Why are you hurting yourselves by continuing to worship idols? You are separating the men and women, the children and babies from the family of Judah. And so you leave yourselves without anyone left from the family of Judah.

BNV : কেন তোমরা মূর্ত্তি তৈরী করে আমাকে রুদ্ধ করে তোল? এখন আবার তোমরা মিশরের মূর্ত্তিকে নৈবেদ্য সাজিযে পূজো করে আমায় রুদ্ধ করে তুলেছো| তোমরা তোমাদের নিজেদের দোষেই ধ্বংস হবে| অন্যান্য দেশগুলির লোকদের কাছে তোমরা হবে অভিশাপ এবং উপহাসের পাত্র|
KJV : In that ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
YLT : by provoking Me to anger by the works of your hands, by making perfume to other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye are going in to sojourn, so as to cut yourselves off, and so as to your being for a reviling and for a reproach among all nations of the earth?
RV : in that ye provoke me unto anger with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to sojourn; that ye may be cut off, and that ye may be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
RSV : Why do you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have come to live, that you may be cut off and become a curse and a taunt among all the nations of the earth?
ASV : in that ye provoke me unto anger with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye are gone to sojourn; that ye may be cut off, and that ye may be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
ESV : Why do you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, making offerings to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have come to live, so that you may be cut off and become a curse and a taunt among all the nations of the earth?
ERVEN : Why do you people want to make me angry by making idols? Now you are living in Egypt. And now you are making me angry by offering sacrifices to the false gods of Egypt. You will destroy yourselves, and it will be your own fault. The people of all the other nations on earth will say bad things about you and make fun of you.

BNV : তোমরা কি তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষরা যা অসত্‌ কর্মগুলি করেছিল তা ভুলে গিয়েছো? ভুলে গিয়েছো যিহূদার রাজা ও রানীরা কত পাপ কাজ করেছিল? যিহূদা দেশে ও জেরুশালেমের রাস্তাগুলোয তোমাদের স্ত্রীরা ও তোমরা য়ে পাপগুলো করেছিলে সেগুলোর কথা কি ভুলে গিয়েছো?
KJV : Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?
YLT : `Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, that they have done in the land of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem?

ESV : Have you forgotten the evil of your fathers, the evil of the kings of Judah, the evil of their wives, your own evil, and the evil of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
ERVEN : Have you forgotten about the wicked things your ancestors did? And have you forgotten about the wicked things the kings and queens of Judah did? Have you forgotten about the wicked things you and your wives did in Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

BNV : এমন কি আজ পর্য়ন্ত যিহূদার লোকরা নিজেদের নম্র বিনীত করে তুলল না| তারা আমাকে কোন রকম সম্মান জানায নি| এবং তারা আমার শিক্ষামালাকে অনুসরণ করেনি| মান্য করেনি বিধিকে যা আমি প্রণযন করেছিলাম তাদের ও তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের জন্য|”
KJV : They are not humbled [even] unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.
YLT : They have not been humbled unto this day, nor have they been afraid, nor have they walked in My law, and in My statutes, that I have set before you and before your fathers.

ERVEN : "So this is what the Lord All-Powerful, the God of Israel, says: I have decided to make terrible things happen to you. I will destroy the whole family of Judah.

BNV : সামান্য কিছু যিহূদার জীবিত মানুষ (যিহূদা ধ্বংসের পর যারা বেঁচে গিয়েছিল) রয়ে গিয়েছিল তারাই মিশরে চলে এসেছে| তাদেরও আমি ধ্বংস করে দেব| তাদের মৃত্যু হবে তরবারির আঘাতে অথবা অনাহারে| যিহূদার অবশিষ্ট এই লোকদের জীবনে এমন দুর্য়োগ আসবে যা দেখে অন্য দেশের লোকরাও ভয়ে শিউরে উঠবে| অভিশপ্ত হয়ে উঠবে মিশরে চলে আসা যিহূদার মানুষগুলোর জীবন| অন্য দেশের মানুষ তাদের নিয়ে হাসাহাসি করবে, অপমান করবে|
KJV : And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, [and] fall in the land of Egypt; they shall [even] be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword [and] by the famine: and they shall be an execration, [and] an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.
YLT : and I have taken the remnant of Judah, who have set their faces to enter the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they have all been consumed in the land of Egypt; they fall by sword, by famine they are consumed, from the least even unto the greatest, by sword and by famine they die, and they have been for an execration, for an astonishment, and for a reviling, and for a reproach.

ASV : And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed; in the land of Egypt shall they fall; they shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine; they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine; and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.
ESV : I will take the remnant of Judah who have set their faces to come to the land of Egypt to live, and they shall all be consumed. In the land of Egypt they shall fall; by the sword and by famine they shall be consumed. From the least to the greatest, they shall die by the sword and by famine, and they shall become an oath, a horror, a curse, and a taunt.
ERVEN : There were a few survivors from Judah. They came here to Egypt. But I will destroy the few survivors from the family of Judah. They will be killed with swords or die from hunger. The people of other nations will point at them and wish evil for them. People will be shocked and frightened by what has happened to them. The name of Judah will become a curse word and an insult.

BNV : মিশরে যারা চলে এসেছে তাদের আমি চরম শাস্তি দেব| তাদের শাস্তি দেবার জন্য আমি তরবারি, অনাহার এবং মারাত্মক রোগসমূহের ব্যবহার প্রযোগ করব, ঠিক য়েমন আমি জেরুশালেমকে শাস্তি দিয়েছিলাম|
KJV : For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:
YLT : `And I have seen after those dwelling in the land of Egypt, as I saw after Jerusalem, with sword, with famine, and with pestilence,
RV : For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:
RSV : I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence,
ASV : For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence;
ESV : I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence,
ERVEN : I will punish those who have gone to live in Egypt. I will use swords, hunger, and terrible sicknesses to punish them. I will punish them just as I punished the city of Jerusalem.

BNV : মিশরে চলে আসা যিহূদার জীবিত মানুষরা কেউ আমার শাস্তি থেকে পালিয়ে বাঁচতে পারবে না| যিহূদায় কেউ বেঁচে ফিরে য়েতে পারবে না| যিহূদায় ফিরে য়েতে চাইলেও তারা ফিরতে পারবে না তবে হয়তো কয়েক জন পালিয়ে য়েতেও পারে|”
KJV : So that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape.
YLT : and there is not an escaped and remaining one of the remnant of Judah, who are entering into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, even to turn back to the land of Judah, whither they are lifting up their soul to return to dwell, for they do not turn back, except those escaping.`
RV : so that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return save such as shall escape.
RSV : so that none of the remnant of Judah who have come to live in the land of Egypt shall escape or survive or return to the land of Judah, to which they desire to return to dwell there; for they shall not return, except some fugitives."
ASV : so that none of the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or be left, to return into the land of Judah, to which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return save such as shall escape.
ESV : so that none of the remnant of Judah who have come to live in the land of Egypt shall escape or survive or return to the land of Judah, to which they desire to return to dwell there. For they shall not return, except some fugitives."
ERVEN : Not one of the few survivors of Judah who have gone to live in Egypt will escape my punishment. None of them will survive to come back to Judah. They want to come back to Judah and live there. But not one of them will go back to Judah, except a few people who escape."

BNV : মিশরে বাস করা যিহূদার অধিকাংশ মহিলা নৈবেদ্য সাজিযে মূর্ত্তি পূজা করতো| অথবা তাদের স্বামীরাও জানতো কিন্তু বারণ করতো না| যিহূদার বহু লোকে, যারা দক্ষিণ মিশরে বাস করত একত্রিত হয়েছিল| তারা তাদের স্ত্রীদের অন্য দেবতাদের নৈবেদ্য সাজিযে পূজো দেওয়ার বিষযটি নিয়ে যিরমিয়কে বলেছিল,
KJV : Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,
YLT : And they answer Jeremiah -- all the men who are knowing that their wives are making perfume to other gods, and all the women who are remaining, a great assembly, even all the people who are dwelling in the land of Egypt, in Pathros -- saying:
RV : Then all the men which knew that their wives burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great assembly, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,

ERVEN : There were many people from Judah living in southern Egypt. Many of the women from Judah were meeting together in a large group and making sacrifices to other gods, and their husbands knew what they were doing. Those men said to Jeremiah,

ERVEN : We promised to make sacrifices to the Queen of Heaven, and we will do everything we promised. We will offer sacrifices and pour out drink offerings in worship to her. We did that in the past. Our ancestors, our kings, and our officials did that in the past. All of us did those things in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. When we worshiped the Queen of Heaven, we had plenty of food. We were successful. Nothing bad happened to us.

KJV : And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?
YLT : and when we are making perfume to the queen of the heavens, and pouring out to her libations -- without our husbands have we made for her cakes to idolize her, and to pour out to her libations?`

ESV : And the women said, "When we made offerings to the queen of heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, was it without our husbands' approval that we made cakes for her bearing her image and poured out drink offerings to her?"
ERVEN : Then the women spoke up and said to Jeremiah, "Our husbands knew what we were doing. We had their permission to make sacrifices to the Queen of Heaven. We had their permission to pour out drink offerings to her. Our husbands also knew that we were making cakes that looked like her."

ERVEN : He said to them, "The Lord remembered that you made sacrifices in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. You and your ancestors, your kings, your officials, and the people of the land did that. He remembered what you had done and thought about it.

KJV : So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, [and] because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.
YLT : And Jehovah is not able any more to accept [you], because of the evil of your doings, because of the abominations that ye have done, and your land is for a waste, and for an astonishment, and for a reviling, without inhabitant, as [at] this day.
RV : so the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land become a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.

ESV : The LORD could no longer bear your evil deeds and the abominations that you committed. Therefore your land has become a desolation and a waste and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.
ERVEN : The Lord hated the terrible things you did, and he could not be patient with you any longer. So he made your country an empty desert. No one lives there now. Other people say bad things about that country.

KJV : Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.

ERVEN : The reason all those bad things happened to you is because you made sacrifices to other gods. You sinned against the Lord. You didn't obey him or follow his teachings or the laws he gave you. You didn't keep your part of the agreement. "

ERVEN : This is what the Lord All- Powerful, the God of the people of Israel, says: You women did what you said you would do. You said, 'We will keep the promises we made. We promised to make sacrifices and pour out drink offerings to the Queen of Heaven.' So go ahead. Do what you promised you would do. Keep your promises.

KJV : Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.
YLT : Lo, I am watching over them for evil, and not for good, and consumed have been all the men of Judah who [are] in the land of Egypt, by sword and by famine, till their consumption.

ERVEN : "I am watching over the people of Judah, but I am not watching over them to take care of them. I am watching over them to hurt them. The people of Judah who live in Egypt will die from hunger and be killed by swords. They will continue to die until they are finished.

KJV : Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.
YLT : `And the escaped of the sword turn back out of the land of Egypt to the land of Judah, few in number, and known have all the remnant of Judah who are coming into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, whose word is established, Mine or theirs.

ERVEN : Some people of Judah will escape being killed by the sword. They will come back to Judah from Egypt. But only a few people of Judah will escape. Then the survivors of Judah who came to live in Egypt will know whose word will come true. They will know whether my word or their word came true.

KJV : And this [shall be] a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:

ERVEN : I will give you people proof,' says the Lord, 'that I will punish you here in Egypt. Then you will know for sure that my promises to hurt you will really happen.

KJV : Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give Pharaoh-hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.
