BNV : প্রভু বললেন: “যিরমিয়, রাজপ্রাসাদে যাও| যিহূদার রাজার কাছে গিয়ে এই ধর্মোপদেশ প্রচার করো:
KJV : Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,

ERVEN : The Lord said, "Jeremiah, go down to the king's palace. Go to the king of Judah and tell this message there:

BNV : ‘যিহূদার রাজা, প্রভুর বার্তা শোন| তুমি দাযূদের সিংহাসন থেকে শাসন করছ, তাই শোন হে রাজা, তুমি এবং তোমার সভা পরিষদগণও শোন| জেরুশালেমের ফটক দিয়ে আসা তোমার লোকদেরও ঈশ্বরের বার্তা শুনতে হবে|
KJV : And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates:
YLT : Hear a word of Jehovah, O king of Judah, who art sitting on the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people, who are coming in at these gates,
RV : And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates.
RSV : and say, `Hear the word of the LORD, O King of Judah, who sit on the throne of David, you, and your servants, and your people who enter these gates.

ERVEN : 'Listen to the message from the Lord, King of Judah. You rule from David's throne, so listen. King, you and your officials must listen well. All of your people who come through the gates of Jerusalem must listen to the message from the Lord.

BNV : প্রভু বললেন: যা ঠিক তাই করো| ডাকাতকে নয়, যার ডাকাতি হয়েছে তাকে রক্ষা করো| বিধ্বা মহিলাদের এবং অনাথ শিশুদের কোন ক্ষতি করো না| নিরীহ লোকদের মেরো না|
KJV : Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.
YLT : Thus said Jehovah: Do ye judgment and righteousness, And deliver the plundered from the hand of the oppressor, And sojourner, orphan, and widow, ye do not oppress nor wrong, And innocent blood ye do not shed in this place.

ASV : Thus saith Jehovah: Execute ye justice and righteousness, and deliver him that is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence, to the sojourner, the fatherless, nor the widow; neither shed innocent blood in this place.
ESV : Thus says the LORD: Do justice and righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the resident alien, the fatherless, and the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.
ERVEN : This is what the Lord says: Do what is right and fair. Protect those who have been robbed from the ones who robbed them. Don't hurt or do anything wrong to orphans or widows. Don't kill innocent people.

BNV : যদি এই নির্দেশগুলো তোমরা মেনে চলো তাহলে এগুলি ঘটবে: দাযূদের সিংহাসনে য়ে সব রাজারা অধিষ্ঠিত রয়েছে তারা জেরুশালেম শহরের ফটক দিয়ে আসা চালিযে যাবে| সঙ্গে থাকবে তাদের সভা পরিষদগণ| তারা সবাই রথে ঘোড়ায় চড়ে আসবে|
KJV : For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.
YLT : For, if ye certainly do this thing, Then come in by the gates of this house Have kings sitting for David on his throne, Riding on chariot, and on horses, He, and his servants, and his people.

ESV : For if you will indeed obey this word, then there shall enter the gates of this house kings who sit on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they and their servants and their people.
ERVEN : If you obey these commands, kings who sit on David's throne will continue to come through the gates into the city of Jerusalem. They will come through the gates with their officials. The kings, their officials, and their people will come riding in chariots and on horses.

BNV : কিন্তু যদি এই নির্দেশগুলি মানা না হয়, তাহলে প্রভু বলেছেন: আমি, প্রভু, প্রতিশ্রুতি দিচ্ছি রাজার প্রাসাদ ধ্বংস হয়ে যাবে এবং সব কিছু জঞ্জালের স্তূপে পরিণত হবে|”‘
KJV : But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.
YLT : And if ye do not hear these words, By myself I have sworn -- an affirmation of Jehovah, That this house is for a desolation.

ERVEN : But if you don't obey these commands, this is what the Lord says: I, the Lord, promise that this king's palace will be destroyed—it will become a pile of rocks.'"

BNV : যিহূদার রাজার রাজপ্রাসাদের সম্বন্ধে প্রভু যা বলেছেন তা হল:“এই প্রাসাদ হল গিলিয়দের অরণ্যের মতো উচ্চ| এই রাজপ্রাসাদ হল লিবানোনের পর্বতের মতো উচ্চ, কিন্তু এই প্রাসাদকে মরুভূমিতে পরিণত করব| এই প্রাসাদ নির্জন শহরের মতো একাকি দাঁড়িয়ে থাকবে|
KJV : For thus saith the LORD unto the king’s house of Judah; Thou [art] Gilead unto me, [and] the head of Lebanon: [yet] surely I will make thee a wilderness, [and] cities [which] are not inhabited.
YLT : For thus said Jehovah, Concerning the house of the king of Judah: Gilead [art] thou to Me -- head of Lebanon, If not -- I make thee a wilderness, Cities not inhabited.

ESV : For thus says the LORD concerning the house of the king of Judah: "' You are like Gilead to me, like the summit of Lebanon, yet surely I will make you a desert, an uninhabited city.
ERVEN : This is what the Lord says about the palace where the king of Judah lives: "The palace is tall like the forests of Gilead, like the mountains of Lebanon. But I will make it like a desert, as empty as a city where no one lives.

BNV : আমি ধ্বংসকারীদের এই প্রাসাদ ধ্বংস করতে পাঠাব| তারা প্রাসাদের সুদৃশ্য এরস কড়িকাঠগুলো কেটে ফেলবে এবং সেগুলোতে আগুন ধরিযে দেবে|
KJV : And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast [them] into the fire.
YLT : And I have separated for thee destroyers, Each with his weapons, And they have cut down the choice of thy cedars, And have cast them on the fire.

BNV : “অনেক জাতির লোকরা এই শহরের পাশ দিয়ে য়েতে য়েতে একে অন্যকে প্রশ্ন করবে, ‘মহান শহর জেরুশালেমের ওপর প্রভু এমন একটা সাংঘাতিক কাণ্ড কেন করলেন?’
KJV : And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city?
YLT : And many nations have passed by this city, And they have said, each to his neighbour, For what hath Jehovah done thus to this great city?
RV : And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city?
RSV : "`And many nations will pass by this city, and every man will say to his neighbor, "Why has the LORD dealt thus with this great city?"

ESV : "'And many nations will pass by this city, and every man will say to his neighbor, "Why has the LORD dealt thus with this great city?"
ERVEN : "People from many nations will pass by this city. They will ask one another, 'Why has the Lord done such a terrible thing to Jerusalem? Jerusalem was such a great city.'

BNV : এই হবে তাদের প্রশ্োনর উত্তর: যিহূদার লোকরা তাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে য়ে চুক্তি হয়েছিল তা তারা অমান্য করেছিল বলে ঈশ্বর জেরুশালেমকে ধ্বংস করেছেন| যিহূদার লোকরা মূর্ত্তি পূজা করেছিল বলে তাদের এই ভযানক ফল ভোগ করতে হল|”‘
KJV : Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.
YLT : And they have said, `Because that they have forsaken The covenant of Jehovah their God, And bow themselves to other gods, and serve them.`
RV : Then they shall answer, Because they forsook the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.
RSV : And they will answer, "Because they forsook the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshiped other gods and served them."'"
ASV : Then they shall answer, Because they forsook the covenant of Jehovah their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.
ESV : And they will answer, "Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD their God and worshiped other gods and served them."'"
ERVEN : This will be the answer to that question: 'God destroyed Jerusalem because the people of Judah stopped following the agreement of the Lord their God. They worshiped and served other gods.'"

BNV : মৃত রাজাদের জন্য না কেঁদে বরং য়ে রাজাকে এই জায়গা ছেড়ে চলে য়েতে হবে তার জন্য কাঁদো| কারণ সে আর কখনো ফিরে আসবে না| আর কোন দিন সে নিজের মাতৃভূমিকে দেখতে পাবে না|
KJV : Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him: [but] weep sore for him that goeth away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.
YLT : Ye do not weep for the dead, nor bemoan for him, Weep ye sore for the traveller, For he doth not return again, Nor hath he seen the land of his birth.

ERVEN : Don't cry for the king who has died. Don't cry for him. But cry very hard for the king who must leave this place. Cry for him because he will never return or see his homeland again.

BNV : য়োশিযের পুত্র শল্লুম (য়েহোযাজ) সম্বন্ধে প্রভু যা বলেছেন তা হল, (য়োশিয মারা যাবার পর তার পুত্র শল্লুম যিহূদার রাজা হয়েছিল|) “য়েহোযাজ জেরুশালেম ছেড়ে চলে গিয়েছিল| সে আর কোন দিন জেরুশালেমে ফিরে আসে নি|
KJV : For thus saith the LORD touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:
YLT : For thus said Jehovah concerning Shallum son of Josiah king of Judah, who is reigning instead of Josiah his father, who hath gone forth from this place: He doth not turn back hither again;

ERVEN : This is what the Lord says about Shallum (Jehoahaz) son of Josiah. (He became king of Judah after his father Josiah died.) "Jehoahaz has gone away from Jerusalem. He will never return.

BNV : মিশরের লোকেরা তাকে যেখানে ধরে নিয়ে গিয়েছে সেখানেই তার মৃত্যু হবে| সে আর কোনদিন এই দেশকে দেখতে পাবে না|”
KJV : But he shall die in the place whither they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more.

BNV : রাজা যিহোয়াকীমের জীবনে খারাপ সময় ঘনিয়ে আসছে| সে তার রাজপ্রাসাদ তৈরী করতে বহু অসত্‌ কাজ করেছে| লোক ঠকিয়ে প্রাসাদের ঘর সমেত উচ্চতা বাড়িয়েছে| তার প্রজাদের দিয়ে বিনা পারিশ্রমিকে সে কাজ করিযে নিয়েছে|
KJV : Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; [that] useth his neighbour’s service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;
YLT : Wo to him who is building his house by unrighteousness, And his upper chambers by injustice, On his neighbour he layeth service for nought, And his wage he doth not give to him.
RV : Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by injustice; that useth his neighbour-s service without wages, and giveth him not his hire;
RSV : "Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his upper rooms by injustice; who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing, and does not give him his wages;

ERVEN : "It will be very bad for King Jehoiakim. He is doing wrong so that he can build his palace. He is cheating people so that he can build rooms upstairs. He is not paying his own people. He is making them work for nothing.

BNV : যিহোয়াকীম বলল, “আমি নিজের জন্য একটি বিশাল প্রাসাদ তৈরী করব| সেই প্রাসাদের ওপরের তলায় বড় বড় ঘর থাকবে|” তাই সে বড় বড় জানালা তৈরী করল| এরস বৃক্ষের কাঠ দিয়ে তৈরী জানালার চারিদিকে সে লাল রঙ করল|
KJV : That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and [it is] cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.
YLT : Who is saying, `I build for myself a large house, And airy upper chambers,` And he hath cut out for himself its windows, Ceiled with cedar, and painted with vermillion.
RV : that saith, I will build me a wide house and spacious chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.

ERVEN : "Jehoiakim says, 'I will build myself a great palace, with huge rooms upstairs.' So he built it with large windows. He used cedar word for paneling, and he painted it red.

BNV : যিহোয়াকীম, তোমার প্রাসাদে অসংখ্য এরস বৃক্ষের কাঠ তোমাকে মহান রাজা করে দিতে পারবে না| তোমার পিতা য়োশিয খাদ্য ও পানীয় পেয়ে সন্তুষ্ট ছিলেন| তিনি সঠিক পথে সঠিক কাজ করেছিলেন| অতএব তাঁর ক্ষেত্রে সব কিছুই ভালো হয়েছিল|
KJV : Shalt thou reign, because thou closest [thyself] in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, [and] then [it was] well with him?
YLT : Dost thou reign, because thou art fretting thyself in cedar? Thy father -- did he not eat and drink? Yea, he did judgment and righteousness, Then [it is] well with him.
RV : Shalt thou reign, because thou strivest to excel in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice? then it was well with him.
RSV : Do you think you are a king because you compete in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.

ERVEN : "Jehoiakim, having a lot of cedar in your house does not make you a great king. Your father Josiah was satisfied to have food and drink. He did what was right and fair, so everything went well for him.

BNV : য়োশিয গরীব দুঃখী লোকদের পাশে দাঁড়িয়েছিল বলে তার সঙ্গে খারাপ কোন ঘটনা ঘটেনি| যিহোয়াকীম, ‘ঈশ্বরকে জানার অর্থ সত্‌ভাবে জীবনযাপন করা এবং যারা গরীব ও আর্ত্ত তাদের সাহায্য করা|’ এই হল প্রভুর বার্তা:
KJV : He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then [it was] well [with him: was] not this to know me? saith the LORD.
YLT : He decided the cause of the poor and needy, Then [it is] well -- is it not to know Me? An affirmation of Jehovah.

ERVEN : Josiah helped poor and needy people, so everything went well for him. Jehoiakim, what does it mean "to know God"? It means living right and being fair. That is what it means to know me. This message is from the Lord.

BNV : যিহোয়াকীম, তোমার চোখ দুটো শুধু তোমার লাভের দিকটাই দেখে| তোমার সমস্ত ভাবনা হল লাভ নিয়ে এবং কি করে আরো বেশী কিছু পাবে তাই নিয়ে| তুমি ইচ্ছা করে নিরীহ মানুষকে হত্যা করেছো| স্বেচ্ছায় অন্যের জিনিস চুরি করেছো|
KJV : But thine eyes and thine heart [are] not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do [it. ]
YLT : But thine eyes and thy heart are not, Except on thy dishonest gain, And on shedding of innocent blood, And on oppression, and on doing of violence.

ERVEN : "Jehoiakim, your eyes look only for what benefits yourself. You are always thinking about getting more for yourself. You are willing to kill innocent people. You are willing to steal things from other people."

BNV : সুতরাং য়োশিযর পুত্র যিহোয়াকীমকে প্রভু এই কথাগুলি বললেন: “যিহূদার লোকেরা কখনও যিহোয়াকীমের জন্য কাঁদবে না| তারা একে অপরকে বলবে না; ‘হে আমার ভাই, আমি যিহোয়াকীমের জন্য খুব দুঃখিত! হে আমার ভগিনী, আমি যিহোয়াকীমের জন্য খুব দুঃখিত!’ তারা যিহোয়াকীমের জন্য দুঃখিত হবে না| তারা তার সম্বন্ধে বলবে না, ‘হে মনিব, আমরা দুঃখিত! হে রাজা আমরা মর্মাহত!’
KJV : Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, [saying,] Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, [saying,] Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!
YLT : Therefore, thus said Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah: They do not lament for him, Ah, my brother, and Ah, sister, They do not lament for him, Ah, lord, and Ah, his honour.
