BNV : “যিহূদার লোকরা মৃত ব্যক্তিদের জন্য চিত্কার করে কাঁদবে| যিহূদার শহরগুলিতে লোকরা আরো বেশী দুর্বল হয়ে পড়বে| তারা মাটিতে শুয়ে পড়ে থাকবে| জেরুশালেমবাসী ঈশ্বরের কাছে চিত্কার করে সাহায্য প্রার্থনা করবে|
KJV : Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.
YLT : Mourned hath Judah, and her gates have languished, They have mourned to the earth, And the cry of Jerusalem hath gone up.
RV : Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish, they sit in black upon the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.

ERVEN : "The nation of Judah cries for people who have died. The people in the cities of Judah grow weaker and weaker. They lie on the ground. People in Jerusalem, cry to God for help.

BNV : নেতারা তাদের পরিচারকদের জল আনতে পাঠাবে| জলাধারে পরিচারকরা এসে জল দেখতে পাবে না| শূন্য পাত্র নিয়ে ফিরে যাবে, তারা লজ্জায মাথা ঢাকবে|
KJV : And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits, [and] found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.
YLT : And their honourable ones have sent their little ones to the water, They have come unto ditches, They have not found water, They have turned back -- their vessels empty! They have been ashamed, And have blushed and covered their head.

ERVEN : The leaders of the people send their servants to get water. The servants go to the water storage places, but they don't find any water. The servants come back with empty jars, so they are ashamed and embarrassed. They cover their heads from shame.

BNV : চাষীরা চরম বেদনা পাবে ও লজ্জিত হবে| কেউ ফসল বোনার জন্য মাটি কর্ষন করে নি| এক ফোঁটা বৃষ্টির দেখা নেই তাই লজ্জায তারা মাথা ঢাকবে|
KJV : Because the ground is chapt, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed, they covered their heads.
YLT : Because the ground hath been broken, For there hath been no rain in the land, Ashamed have been husbandmen, They have covered their head.
RV : Because of the ground which is chapt, for that no rain hath been in the land, the plowmen are ashamed, they cover their heads.

ERVEN : No one prepares the ground for crops. No rain falls on the land. The farmers are depressed. So they cover their heads from shame.

BNV : তৃণের অভাবে হরিণী তার সদ্যজাত সন্তানকে একাকী মাঠেই রেখে চলে যাবে|
KJV : Yea, the hind also calved in the field, and forsook [it,] because there was no grass.
YLT : For even the hind in the field hath brought forth -- to forsake [it!] For there hath been no grass.
RV : Yea, the hind also in the field calveth, and forsaketh {cf15i her young}, because there is no grass.
RSV : Even the hind in the field forsakes her newborn calf because there is no grass.

BNV : বন্য গাধারা পাহাড়ে দাঁড়িয়ে শেযালের মতো ঘ্রাণ নেবে| কিন্তু তারা কোন খাবারের সন্ধান পাবে না| কারণ মাঠে কোন সবুজের চিহ্ন থাকবে না|”
KJV : And the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because [there was] no grass.
YLT : And wild asses have stood on high places, They have swallowed up wind like dragons, Consumed have been their eyes, for there is no herb.

BNV : “আমরা আমাদের ভুলগুলো বুঝতে পেরেছি| আমরা আমাদের পাপের জন্য কষ্ট পাচ্ছি| হে প্রভু, আপনার নামের দোহাই, আমাদের সাহায্য করবার জন্য কিছু করুন| আমরা স্বীকার করছি আমরা পাপী, আমরা বার বার আপনার বিরুদ্ধে গিয়েছি|
KJV : O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou [it] for thy name’s sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.
YLT : Surely our iniquities have testified against us, O Jehovah, work for Thy name`s sake, For many have been our backslidings, Against Thee we have sinned.

KJV : O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man [that] turneth aside to tarry for a night?
YLT : O Hope of Israel -- its saviour in time of trouble, Why art Thou as a sojourner in the land? And as a traveller turned aside to lodge?

ERVEN : God, you are the Hope of Israel! You save Israel in times of trouble. But now it seems like you are a stranger in the land. It seems like you are a traveler who only stays one night.

BNV : আপনি য়েন স্তম্ভিত এক মানুষ| আপনি য়েন একজন সৈনিক যার প্রাণ বাঁচানোর কোন ক্ষমতা নেই| কিন্তু প্রভু, আপনি আমাদের সঙ্গেই আছেন| আপনার নাম ধরেই আমাদের ডাকা হয়| সুতরাং আমাদের সাহায্য না করে আপনি চলে যাবেন না|”
KJV : Why shouldest thou be as a man astonied, as a mighty man [that] cannot save? yet thou, O LORD, [art] in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.
YLT : Why art Thou as one dumb? As a mighty one not able to save? And Thou [art] in our midst, O Jehovah, And Thy name over us is called, leave us not.

ESV : Why should you be like a man confused, like a mighty warrior who cannot save? Yet you, O LORD, are in the midst of us, and we are called by your name; do not leave us."
ERVEN : You seem like a man who has been attacked by surprise. You seem like a soldier who does not have the power to save anyone. But, Lord, you are with us. We are called by your name, so don't leave us without help!"

BNV : যিহূদার লোকদের সম্বন্ধে প্রভু যা বলেছেন তা হল: “যিহূদার লোকরা আমাকে ছেড়ে দিতে ভালোবাসে| তারা আমাকে ত্যাগ করা থেকে নিজেদের নিবৃত্ত করেনি| সুতরাং এখন প্রভুও তাদের গ্রহণ করবেন না| প্রভু এখন তাদের সব বাজে কাজ করার কথা স্মরণ করবেন| প্রভু তাদের পাপের শাস্তি দেবেন|”
KJV : Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
YLT : Thus said Jehovah concerning this people: Well they have loved to wander, Their feet they have not restrained, And Jehovah hath not accepted them, Now doth He remember their iniquity, And inspect their sin.
RV : Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore the LORD doth not accept them; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
RSV : Thus says the LORD concerning this people: "They have loved to wander thus, they have not restrained their feet; therefore the LORD does not accept them, now he will remember their iniquity and punish their sins."
ASV : Thus saith Jehovah unto this people, Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore Jehovah doth not accept them; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.

ERVEN : This is what the Lord says about the people of Judah: "The people of Judah really love to leave me. They don't stop themselves from leaving me. So now the Lord will not accept them. Now he will remember the evil they do. He will punish them for their sins."

KJV : Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for [their] good.
YLT : And Jehovah saith unto me: Thou dost not pray for this people for good,
RV : And the LORD said unto me, Pray not for this people for {cf15i their} good.
RSV : The LORD said to me: "Do not pray for the welfare of this people.
ASV : And Jehovah said unto me, Pray not for this people for their good.
ESV : The LORD said to me: "Do not pray for the welfare of this people.
ERVEN : Then the Lord said to me, "Jeremiah, don't pray for good things to happen to the people of Judah.

BNV : খুব সম্প্রতি হয়তো যিহূদার লোকরা উপবাস করতে এবং আমার কাছে প্রার্থনা করতে শুরু করবে| কিন্তু আমি তাদের প্রার্থনা শুনব না| এমনকি তারা যদি আমাকে হোমবলি এবং শস্য নৈবেদ্য দিতে চায় তাও আমি গ্রহণ করব না| যুদ্ধ ডেকে এনে যিহূদার লোকদের আমি ধ্বংস করব| আমি তাদের খাদ্য সরিয়ে নিয়ে যাব| এবং তারা দুর্ভিক্ষের সামনে পড়বে| মহামারী ডেকে এনে আমি তাদের ধ্বংস করব|”
KJV : When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.
YLT : When they fast, I hearken not unto their cry, And when they cause to ascend burnt-offering and present, I accept them not, For by sword, and by famine, And by pestilence, I am consuming them.

ERVEN : They might begin to fast and pray to me, but I will not listen to their prayers. Even if they offer burnt offerings and grain offerings to me, I will not accept them. I will destroy the people of Judah with war. I will take away their food, and they will starve. And I will destroy them with terrible diseases."

BNV : কিন্তু আমি প্রভুকে বলেছিলাম, “প্রভু, আমার মালিক, ভাব্বাদীরা লোকদের অন্য কিছু বলছিল| তারা যিহূদার লোকদের বলছিল, ‘শএুর তরবারি তোমাদের ক্ষতি করবে না| তোমরা অনাহারে কষ্ট পাবে না| প্রভু তোমাদের এই দেশে শান্তি এনে দেবে|”‘
KJV : Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
YLT : And I say, `Ah, Lord Jehovah, Lo, the prophets are saying to them: Ye do not see a sword, yea, famine is not to you, For true peace I give to you in this place.`
RV : Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
RSV : Then I said: "Ah, Lord GOD, behold, the prophets say to them, `You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.'"
ASV : Then said I, Ah, Lord Jehovah! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
ESV : Then I said: "Ah, Lord GOD, behold, the prophets say to them, 'You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.'"
ERVEN : But I said, "Lord God, the prophets were telling the people something different. They were telling the people of Judah, 'You will not suffer from an enemy's sword. You will never suffer from hunger. The Lord will give you peace in this land.'"

BNV : তখন প্রভু আমাকে বলেছিলেন, “যিরমিয়, ঐ ভাব্বাদীরা আমার নাম নিয়ে মিথ্য়ে ধর্মোপদেশ প্রচার করছে| আমি ঐ ভাব্বাদীদের পাঠাই নি| আমি তাদের আমার কথা দিয়ে আদেশও দিইনি| ঐ ভাব্বাদীরা মিথ্য়ে দর্শন, মূল্যহীন যাদু এবং জাগরণ-স্বপ্ন প্রচার করছে| সেটা তাদের নিজস্ব ধ্যান-ধারণা| য়ে ধারণা অন্তঃসারশূন্য ভোজবাজি ছাড়া আর কিছু নয়|
KJV : Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
YLT : And Jehovah saith unto me: Falsehood the prophets are prophesying in My name, I did not send them, nor command them, Nor have I spoken unto them: A false vision, and divination, and vanity, And the deceit of their own heart, they are prophesying to you.
RV : Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake I unto them: they prophesy unto you a lying vision, and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their own heart.
RSV : And the LORD said to me: "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name; I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, worthless divination, and the deceit of their own minds.
ASV : Then Jehovah said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name; I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake I unto them: they prophesy unto you a lying vision, and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their own heart.
ESV : And the LORD said to me: "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, worthless divination, and the deceit of their own minds.
ERVEN : Then the Lord said to me, "Jeremiah, those prophets are telling lies in my name. I did not send them or command them or speak to them. They have been prophesying false visions, worthless magic, and their own wishful thinking.

BNV : ঐ ভাব্বাদীরা, যারা আমার নাম নিয়ে ধর্ম-প্রচার করে তাদের নামে আমি এ-ই বলি| আমি তাদের পাঠাই নি| ঐ ভাব্বাদীরা বলেছিল, ‘কোন শএু এই দেশ আক্রমণ করতে পারবে না| এই দেশে অনাহার বলে কিছু থাকবে না|’ ঐ ভাব্বাদীরা অনাহারে মারা যাবে এবং শএুর তরবারির আঘাতে তাদের মৃত্যু ঘটবে|
KJV : Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
YLT : Therefore, thus said Jehovah concerning the prophets who are prophesying in My name, and I have not sent them, and they are saying, Sword and famine is not in this land: By sword and by famine are these prophets consumed.
RV : Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land: By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.

ESV : Therefore thus says the LORD concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name although I did not send them, and who say, 'Sword and famine shall not come upon this land': By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed.
ERVEN : So this is what I say about the prophets who are speaking in my name. I did not send them. They said, 'No enemy with swords will ever attack this country. There will never be hunger in this land.' Those prophets will die from hunger, and an enemy's sword will kill them.

BNV : এবং লোকদের, যাদের ভাব্বাদীরা ধর্মোপদেশ দিত, তাদের রাস্তায় ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দেওয়া হবে| অনাহারে এবং শএুর তরবারিতে তাদের মৃত্যু ঘটলে কেউ তাদের কবর দিতে এগিয়ে আসবে না| কেউই আসবে না, এমন কি তাদের স্ত্রী পুত্র কন্যারাও নয়| আমি তাদের শাস্তি দেব|
KJV : And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them.
YLT : And the people to whom they are prophesying, Are cast into out-places of Jerusalem, Because of the famine, and of the sword, And they have none burying them, Them, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, And I have poured out upon them this evil.

ERVEN : And the people they spoke to will be thrown into the streets. The people will die from hunger and from an enemy's sword. I will punish them, and no one will be there to bury them, or their wives, or their sons, or their daughters.

BNV : “যিরমিয়, যিহূদার লোকদের কাছে এই বাণী উচ্চারণ করো: ‘আমার চোখ জলে ভরে গিয়েছে| দিন রাত্রি আমি শুধুই কাঁদব| আমি আমার অক্ষত য়োনী কন্যার জন্য কাঁদব| কাঁদব আমার লোকেদের জন্য| কারণ কেউ তাদের আঘাত করেছে| তারা গুরুতরভাবে আহত|
KJV : Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.
YLT : And thou hast said unto them this word: Tears come down mine eyes night and day, And they do not cease, For, [with] a great breach, Broken hath been the virgin daughter of my people, A very grievous stroke.
RV : And thou shalt say this word unto them, Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous wound.
RSV : "You shall say to them this word: `Let my eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease, for the virgin daughter of my people is smitten with a great wound, with a very grievous blow.
ASV : And thou shalt say this word unto them, Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous wound.
ESV : "You shall say to them this word: 'Let my eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease, for the virgin daughter of my people is shattered with a great wound, with a very grievous blow.
ERVEN : "Jeremiah, speak this message to the people of Judah: 'My eyes are filled with tears night and day without stopping. I will cry for my virgin daughter and for my people, because someone hit them and crushed them. They have been hurt very badly.

KJV : If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.

BNV : লোকরা বলল, “প্রভু আপনি কি যিহূদাকে পুরোপুরি বাতিল করে দিয়েছেন? প্রভু আপনি কি সিয়োনকে ঘৃণা করেন? আপনি আমাদের এমন আঘাত করেছেন য়ে আমরা আর কখনও সুস্থ হয়ে উঠতে পারবো না| কেন আপনি এরকম করলেন? আমরা শান্তির আশায় বসে থাকলেও ভাল কিছু ঘটছে না| আমরা সেরে ওঠার অপেক্ষায বসে রইলাম কিন্তু শুধুই সন্ত্রাস এলো|

ERVEN : Lord, have you completely rejected the nation of Judah? Do you hate Zion? You hurt us so badly that we cannot be made well again. Why did you do that? We were hoping for peace, but nothing good has come. We were hoping for a time of healing, but only terror came.

KJV : Are there [any] among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? [art] not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these [things.]
