BNV : যাকোব তাকিয়ে দেখলেন এষৌ আসছেন| এষৌ তার সঙ্গে 400 জন লোক নিয়ে আসছিলেন| যাকোব তার পরিবারকে চারটি দলে ভাগ করল| লেয়া এবং তার সন্তানেরা একটি দলে, রাহেল ও য়োষেফ আর একটি দলে এবং দুই দাসী ও তাদের সন্তানেরা আরও দুটি দলে ছিল|
KJV : And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.
YLT : And Jacob lifteth up his eyes, and looketh, and lo, Esau is coming, and with him four hundred men; and he divideth the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two maid-servants;

ERVEN : Jacob looked and saw Esau coming with 400 men. Jacob divided his family into four groups. Leah and her children were in one group, Rachel and Joseph were in one group, and the two maids and their children were in two groups.

BNV : যাকোব তার দাসীদের সন্তানদের সামনে রাখল| লেয়া এবং তার সন্তানদের সে তাদের পেছনে রাখল| যাকোব রাহেল ও য়োষেফকে সবশেষে রাখল|
KJV : And he put the handmaids and their children foremost, and Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph hindermost.

BNV : যাকোব নিজে এষৌর দিকে এগিয়ে গেল| এর ফলে এষৌর সাথেই প্রথমে তার সাক্ষাত্‌ হল| যাকোব তার ভাইয়ের দিকে হেঁটে যাবার সময় সাতবার আভূমি প্রণত হল|
KJV : And he passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.
YLT : And he himself passed over before them, and boweth himself to the earth seven times, until his drawing nigh unto his brother,

BNV : এষৌ যাকোবকে দেখতে পেয়ে তার সাথে দেখা করার জন্য দৌড়ে গেলেন| এষৌ যাকোবের গলা জড়িয়ে ধরে চুমু খেলেন| তারপর তাঁরা দুজনেই কাঁদলেন|

BNV : এষৌ তাকিযে সেই স্ত্রীলোক ও শিশুদের দেখতে পেয়ে বললেন, “তোমার সাথে ঐ লোকজনেরা কারা?”যাকোব উত্তরে বললেন, “ঈশ্বর অনুগ্রহ করে আমাকে এইসব সন্তানসন্ততিদের দিয়েছেন|”
KJV : And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who [are] those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.
YLT : and he lifteth up his eyes, and seeth the women and the children, and saith, `What [are] these to thee?` And he saith, `The children with whom God hath favoured thy servant.`

BNV : তারপর সন্তানদের নিয়ে দুই দাসী এষৌর সঙ্গে দেখা করতে গেল| তারা তাঁর সামনে সশ্রদ্ধ প্রণিপাত করল|

BNV : এষৌ বললেন, “আমি এখানে আসার সময় য়ে জনসমারোহ দেখতে পেলাম তা এবং এইসব পশুই বা কিসের জন্য?”যাকোব বলল, “ঐ সব আপনার জন্য আমার উপহার| য়েন আপনি আমাকে গ্রহণ করেন|”
KJV : And he said, What [meanest] thou by all this drove which I met? And he said, [These are] to find grace in the sight of my lord.
YLT : And he saith, `What to thee [is] all this camp which I have met?` and he saith, `To find grace in the eyes of my lord.`
RV : And he said, What meanest thou by all this company which I met? And he said, To find grace in the sight of my lord.
RSV : Esau said, "What do you mean by all this company which I met?" Jacob answered, "To find favor in the sight of my lord."

ERVEN : Esau said, "Who were all those people I saw while I was coming here? And what were all those animals for?" Jacob answered, "These are my gifts to you so that you might accept me."

BNV : কিন্তু এষৌ বললেন, “তোমাকে উপহার দিতে হবে না ভাই আমার যথেষ্ট রয়েছে|”
KJV : And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep that thou hast unto thyself.
YLT : And Esau saith, `I have abundance, my brother, let it be to thyself that which thou hast.`
RV : And Esau said, I have enough; my brother, let that thou hast be thine.
RSV : But Esau said, "I have enough, my brother; keep what you have for yourself."

ERVEN : But Esau said, "You don't have to give me gifts, brother. I have enough for myself."

BNV : যাকোব বলল, “তা না, আমার বিনতি এই যদি সত্যিসত্যি আপনি আমাকে গ্রহণ করে থাকেন তবে আমি য়ে উপহার আপনাকে দিই তা গ্রহণ করুন| আমি আবার আপনার মুখ দেখতে পেয়ে আনন্দিত| য়েন ঈশ্বরেরই মুখ দর্শন করলাম| আপনি য়ে আমাকে গ্রহণ করলেন এতেই আমি খুব খুশী|
KJV : And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face, as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.
YLT : And Jacob saith, `Nay, I pray thee, if, I pray thee, I have found grace in thine eyes, then thou hast received my present from my hand, because that I have seen thy face, as the seeing of the face of God, and thou art pleased with me;
RV : And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand: forasmuch as I have seen thy face, as one seeth the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.
RSV : Jacob said, "No, I pray you, if I have found favor in your sight, then accept my present from my hand; for truly to see your face is like seeing the face of God, with such favor have you received me.

ESV : Jacob said, "No, please, if I have found favor in your sight, then accept my present from my hand. For I have seen your face, which is like seeing the face of God, and you have accepted me.
ERVEN : Jacob said, "No, I beg you! If you really accept me, please accept the gifts I give you. I am very happy to see your face again. It is like seeing the face of God. I am very happy to see that you accept me.

BNV : সেইজন্য বিনয় করি আমি য়ে য়ে উপহার আপনার জন্য এনেছি তা গ্রহণ করুন| ঈশ্বর আমার প্রতি অনুগ্রহ করেছেন তাই আমার প্রযোজনের অতিরিক্তই রয়েছে|” এইভাবে যাকোব তার উপহারগুলি স্বীকার করার জন্য এষৌর কাছে বিনতি করল| সেইজন্য এষৌ উপহারগুলি স্বীকার করলেন|
KJV : Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took [it. ]
YLT : receive, I pray thee, my blessing, which is brought to thee, because God hath favoured me, and because I have all [things];` and he presseth on him, and he receiveth,
RV : Take, I pray thee, my gift that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.

BNV : তারপর এষৌ বললেন, “এবার তুমি তোমার যাত্রা পথে চলতে পার| আমি তোমার সঙ্গে যাব|”
KJV : And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before thee.
YLT : and saith, `Let us journey and go on, and I go on before thee.`
RV : And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before thee.
RSV : Then Esau said, "Let us journey on our way, and I will go before you."

BNV : কিন্তু যাকোব তাকে বলল, “আপনি জানেন য়ে আমার শিশুরা দুর্বল এবং আমাকে আমার পশুপাল সম্পর্কে সাবধান হতে হবে| যদি আমি তাদের একদিনে এতদূর য়েতে বাধ্য করি, তবে সব পশুই মারা পড়বে|
KJV : And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children [are] tender, and the flocks and herds with young [are] with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.
YLT : And he saith unto him, `My lord knoweth that the children [are] tender, and the suckling flock and the herd [are] with me; when they have beaten them one day, then hath all the flock died.
RV : And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and that the flocks and herds with me give suck: and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die.
RSV : But Jacob said to him, "My lord knows that the children are frail, and that the flocks and herds giving suck are a care to me; and if they are overdriven for one day, all the flocks will die.
ASV : And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and that the flocks and herds with me have their young: and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die.
ESV : But Jacob said to him, "My lord knows that the children are frail, and that the nursing flocks and herds are a care to me. If they are driven hard for one day, all the flocks will die.
ERVEN : But Jacob said to him, "You know that my children are weak. And I must be careful with my flocks and their young animals. If I force them to walk too far in one day, all the animals will die.

BNV : সেইজন্যে আপনি আগে আগে যান| গবাদিপশু এবং অন্যান্য পশুদের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে এবং সন্তানরা যাতে খুব ক্লান্ত না হয়ে পড়ে সেই দিক দেখে আমি খুব ধীর গতিতে যাব| আমি সেযীরে আপনার সঙ্গে দেখা করব|”
KJV : Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according as the cattle that goeth before me and the children be able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto Seir.
YLT : Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant, and I -- I lead on gently, according to the foot of the work which [is] before me, and to the foot of the children, until that I come unto my lord, to Seir.`
RV : Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according to the pace of the cattle that is before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come unto my lord unto Seir.

ERVEN : So you go on ahead. I will follow you slowly. I will go slowly enough for the cattle and other animals to be safe and so that my children will not get too tired. I will meet you in Seir."

BNV : তাই এষৌ বললেন, “তবে তোমাকে সাহায্য করার জন্য আমার কিছু লোক তোমার কাছে রেখে যাই|”কিন্তু যাকোব বলল, “আপনি বড়ই দয়ালু কিন্তু সেটারই বা প্রয়োজন কি?”
KJV : And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee [some] of the folk that [are] with me. And he said, What needeth it? let me find grace in the sight of my lord.
YLT : And Esau saith, `Let me, I pray thee, place with thee some of the people who [are] with me;` and he said, `Why [is] this? I find grace in the eyes of my lord.`
RV : And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are with me. And he said, What needeth it? let me find grace in the sight of my lord.
RSV : So Esau said, "Let me leave with you some of the men who are with me." But he said, "What need is there? Let me find favor in the sight of my lord."

BNV : সেদিন এষৌ সেয়ীরের পথে যাত্রা শুরু করলেন|
KJV : So Esau returned that day on his way unto Seir.
YLT : And turn back on that day doth Esau on his way to Seir;

BNV : কিন্তু যাকোব সুক্কোতে গেল| সেই জায়গায় সে নিজের জন্য একটা গৃহ তৈরী করল আর তার পশুপালের জন্য ছাউনি তৈরী করল| এইজন্য সেই জায়গার নাম রাখা হল সুক্কোত্‌|
KJV : And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built him an house, and made booths for his cattle: therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.
YLT : and Jacob hath journeyed to Succoth, and buildeth to himself a house, and for his cattle hath made booths, therefore hath he called the name of the place Succoth.

BNV : যাকোব নিরাপদে পদ্দম্-অরাম হতে যাত্রা করে কনান দেশের শিখিম নগরে এসে উপস্থিত হল| সেই শহরের কাছে এক মাঠের মধ্যে সে শিবির স্থাপন করল|
KJV : And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which [is] in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padan-aram; and pitched his tent before the city.
YLT : And Jacob cometh in to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which [is] in the land of Canaan, in his coming from Padan-Aram, and encampeth before the city,

ERVEN : Jacob safely ended his trip from Paddan Aram when he came to the town of Shechem in Canaan. He made his camp in a field near the city.

BNV : শিখিমের পিতা হামোরের কাছ থেকে যাকোব ঐ মাঠটি 100 রৌপ্য খণ্ড দিয়ে কিনেছিল|
KJV : And he bought a parcel of a field, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for an hundred pieces of money.
YLT : and he buyeth the portion of the field where he hath stretched out his tent, from the hand of the sons of Hamor, father of Shechem, for a hundred kesitah;
RV : And he bought the parcel of ground, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem-s father, for an hundred pieces of money.
RSV : And from the sons of Hamor, Shechem's father, he bought for a hundred pieces of money the piece of land on which he had pitched his tent.

ERVEN : He bought the field where he camped from the family of Hamor, father of Shechem. He paid 100 pieces of silver for it.

BNV : যাকোব সেই জায়গায় ঈশ্বরের উপাসনা করার জন্য এক বেদী তৈরী করে তার নাম রাখল, “এল্ ইলোহে, ইস্রাযেলের ঈশ্বর|”
KJV : And he erected there an altar, and called it El-elohe-Israel.
YLT : and he setteth up there an altar, and proclaimeth at it God -- the God of Israel.
RV : And he erected there an altar, and called it El-elohe-Israel.
