BNV : সারী ছিল অব্রামের স্ত্রী| তার ও অব্রামের কোনও সন্তানাদি ছিল না| সারী মিশর থেকে একজন দাসী এনেছিল| তার নাম হাগার|
KJV : Now Sarai Abram’s wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name [was] Hagar.
YLT : And Sarai, Abram`s wife, hath not borne to him, and she hath an handmaid, an Egyptian, and her name [is] Hagar;
RV : Now Sarai Abram-s wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.
RSV : Now Sarai, Abram's wife, bore him no children. She had an Egyptian maid whose name was Hagar;
ASV : Now Sarai, Abrams wife, bare him no children: and she had a handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.

ERVEN : Sarai was Abram's wife, but she did not have any children. She had an Egyptian slave named Hagar.

BNV : সারী অব্রামকে বললেন, “প্রভু আমায় সন্তান ধারণের ক্ষমতা দেন নি| তাই তুমি আমার দাসী হাগারের কাছে যাও| আমাকে একটি সন্তান দাও এবং আমি সেই সন্তানকে নিজের বলে গ্রহণ করবো|”অব্রাম সারীর নির্দেশ অনুসরণ করলেন|
KJV : And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
YLT : and Sarai saith unto Abram, `Lo, I pray thee, Jehovah hath restrained me from bearing, go in, I pray thee, unto my handmaid; perhaps I am built up from her;` and Abram hearkeneth to the voice of Sarai.
RV : And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing; go in, I pray thee, unto my handmaid; it may be that I shall obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
RSV : and Sarai said to Abram, "Behold now, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children; go in to my maid; it may be that I shall obtain children by her." And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
ASV : And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, Jehovah hath restrained me from bearing; go in, I pray thee, unto my handmaid; it may be that I shall obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.
ESV : And Sarai said to Abram, "Behold now, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children. Go in to my servant; it may be that I shall obtain children by her." And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.
ERVEN : Sarai told Abram, "The Lord has not allowed me to have children, so sleep with my slave. Maybe she can have a son, and I will accept him as my own." Abram did what Sarai said.

BNV : অব্রাম কনানে দশ বছর বাস করার পরে এই ঘটনা ঘটে| সারী হাগারকে তাঁর স্বামী অব্রামের কাছে পাঠালো| (হাগার ছিল তাঁর মিশরীয দাসী|)
KJV : And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.
YLT : And Sarai, Abram`s wife, taketh Hagar the Egyptian, her handmaid, at the end of the tenth year of Abram`s dwelling in the land of Canaan, and giveth her to Abram her husband, to him for a wife,
RV : And Sarai Abram-s wife took Hagar the Egyptian, her handmaid, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to Abram her husband to be his wife.
RSV : So, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar the Egyptian, her maid, and gave her to Abram her husband as a wife.

ESV : So, after Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar the Egyptian, her servant, and gave her to Abram her husband as a wife.
ERVEN : So after living ten years in the land of Canaan, Sarai gave her Egyptian slave to Abram as a second wife.

BNV : অব্রামের দ্বারা হাগার গর্ভবতী হলো| যখন সে একথা জানতে পারল সে খুব গর্বিতা হয়ে উঠল এবং ভাবল সে তার প্রভু পত্নী সারীর চেযে ভাল|
KJV : And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.
YLT : and he goeth in unto Hagar, and she conceiveth, and she seeth that she hath conceived, and her mistress is lightly esteemed in her eyes.
RV : And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.
RSV : And he went in to Hagar, and she conceived; and when she saw that she had conceived, she looked with contempt on her mistress.

ERVEN : Abram slept with Hagar, and she became pregnant. When Hagar realized this, she became very proud and began to feel that she was better than Sarai her owner.

BNV : কিন্তু সারী অব্রামকে বলল, “আমার দাসী এখন আমাকেই তিরস্কার করে এবং এর জন্যে তুমি দায়ী| আমিই তাকে তোমার কাছে পাঠিয়েছিলাম| সে গর্ভবতী হল| এখন সে নিজেকে আমার চেয়ে ভাল মনে করে| প্রভু বিচার করুন য়ে কোনটা ঠিক|”
KJV : And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong [be] upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee.
YLT : And Sarai saith unto Abram, `My violence [is] for thee; I -- I have given mine handmaid into thy bosom, and she seeth that she hath conceived, and I am lightly esteemed in her eyes; Jehovah doth judge between me and thee.`
RV : And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I gave my handmaid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee.
RSV : And Sarai said to Abram, "May the wrong done to me be on you! I gave my maid to your embrace, and when she saw that she had conceived, she looked on me with contempt. May the LORD judge between you and me!"
ASV : And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I gave my handmaid into they bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: Jehovah judge between me and thee.
ESV : And Sarai said to Abram, "May the wrong done to me be on you! I gave my servant to your embrace, and when she saw that she had conceived, she looked on me with contempt. May the LORD judge between you and me!"
ERVEN : Then Sarai said to Abram, "My slave girl now hates me, and I blame you for this. I gave her to you, and she became pregnant. Then she began to feel that she is better than I am. I want the Lord to judge which of us is right."

BNV : কিন্তু অব্রাম সারীকে বলল, “তুমিই হাগারের গৃহকর্ত্রী| তোমার য়ে রকম ইচ্ছে সে রকমভাবেই তুমি হাগারের ব্যবস্থা করবে|” ফলে সারী তাঁর দাসী হাগারকে দুঃখ দিলেন এবং হাগার সেখান থেকে পালিয়ে গেল|
KJV : But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid [is] in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.
YLT : And Abram saith unto Sarai, `Lo, thine handmaid [is] in thine hand, do to her that which is good in thine eyes;` and Sarai afflicted her, and she fleeth from her presence.
RV : But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her that which is good in thine eyes. And Sarai dealt hardly with her, and she fled from her face.
RSV : But Abram said to Sarai, "Behold, your maid is in your power; do to her as you please." Then Sarai dealt harshly with her, and she fled from her.

ERVEN : But Abram said to Sarai, "She is your slave. You can do anything you want to her." So Sarai was cruel to Hagar, and Hagar ran away.

BNV : মরুভূমির মধ্যে এক জলপূর্ণ কূপের পাশে প্রভুর দূত হাগারকে দেখতে পেল| জলাশযটি ছিল শূর যাওয়ার পথে|
KJV : And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.
YLT : And a messenger of Jehovah findeth her by the fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way [to] Shur,
RV : And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.
RSV : The angel of the LORD found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur.

ERVEN : The Angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring of water in the desert. The spring was by the road to Shur.

BNV : সেই দূত বলল, “হাগার তুমি তো সারীর পরিচারিকা| তুমি এখানে কেন? তুমি কোথায় যাচ্ছো?”হাগার বলল, “আমি সারীর কাছ থেকে পালাচ্ছি|”
KJV : And he said, Hagar, Sarai’s maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
YLT : and he saith, `Hagar, Sarai`s handmaid, whence hast thou come, and whither dost thou go?` and she saith, `From the presence of Sarai, my mistress, I am fleeing.`
RV : And he said, Hagar, Sarai-s handmaid, whence camest thou? and whither goest thou? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
RSV : And he said, "Hagar, maid of Sarai, where have you come from and where are you going?" She said, "I am fleeing from my mistress Sarai."
ASV : And he said, Hagar, Sarais handmaid, whence camest thou? and whither goest thou? And she said, I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai.
ESV : And he said, "Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from and where are you going?" She said, "I am fleeing from my mistress Sarai."
ERVEN : The angel said, "Hagar, Sarai's slave girl, why are you here? Where are you going?" Hagar said, "I am running away from Sarai."

BNV : প্রভুর দূত হাগারকে বলল, “সারী তোমার গৃহকর্ত্রী| তার কাছে ফিরে যাও| তার বাধ্য হও|
KJV : And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.
YLT : And the messenger of Jehovah saith to her, `Turn back unto thy mistress, and humble thyself under her hands;`
RV : And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.
RSV : The angel of the LORD said to her, "Return to your mistress, and submit to her."
ASV : And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.

ERVEN : The Angel of the Lord said to her, "Sarai is your owner. Go home to her and obey her."

BNV : হাগারকে প্রভুর দূত আরও বলল, “তোমার থেকে বিশাল জনসমষ্টি সৃষ্টি হবে| এত বিপুল জনসংখ্যা হবে য়ে তাদের গুনে শেষ করা যাবে না|”
KJV : And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
YLT : and the messenger of Jehovah saith to her, `Multiplying I multiply thy seed, and it is not numbered from multitude;`
RV : And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will greatly multiply thy seed, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
RSV : The angel of the LORD also said to her, "I will so greatly multiply your descendants that they cannot be numbered for multitude."
ASV : And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, I will greatly multiply thy seed, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
ESV : The angel of the LORD also said to her, "I will surely multiply your offspring so that they cannot be numbered for multitude."
ERVEN : The Angel of the Lord also said, "From you will come many people. There will be so many people that they cannot be counted."

BNV : প্রভুর দূত আরও বলল,“হাগার, এখন তুমি গর্ভবতী, তুমি হবে এক পুত্রের জননী| পুত্রের নাম দেবে ইশ্মায়েল, কারণ প্রভু শুনেছেন তোমার উপর দুর্ব্যবহার হয়েছে, তিনি তোমাকে সাহায্য করবেন|
KJV : And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou [art] with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
YLT : and the messenger of Jehovah saith to her, `Behold thou [art] conceiving, and bearing a son, and hast called his name Ishmael, for Jehovah hath hearkened unto thine affliction;
RV : And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son; and thou shalt call his name Ishmael, because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
RSV : And the angel of the LORD said to her, "Behold, you are with child, and shall bear a son; you shall call his name Ishmael; because the LORD has given heed to your affliction.
ASV : And the angel of Jehovah said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son; and thou shalt call his name Ishmael, because Jehovah hath heard thy affliction.
ESV : And the angel of the LORD said to her, "Behold, you are pregnant and shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, because the LORD has listened to your affliction.
ERVEN : Then the Angel of the Lord said, "Hagar, you are now pregnant, and you will have a son. You will name him Ishmael, because the Lord has heard that you were treated badly.

BNV : “ইশ্মায়েল স্বাধীন এবং উদ্দাম হবে য়েমন উদ্দাম হয় বন্য গাধা| সে সবার বিরুদ্ধে দাঁড়াবে এবং সবাই হবে তার প্রতিপক্ষ| সে স্থান থেকে স্থানান্তরে ঘুরে বেড়াবে এবং ভাইদের বসতির কাছে তাঁবু গাড়বে|”
KJV : And he will be a wild man; his hand [will be] against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
YLT : and he is a wild-ass man, his hand against every one, and every one`s hand against him -- and before the face of all his brethren he dwelleth.`
RV : And he shall be {cf15i as} a wild-ass among men; his hand {cf15i shall be} against every man, and every man-s hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.
RSV : He shall be a wild ass of a man, his hand against every man and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell over against all his kinsmen."
ASV : And he shall be as a wild ass among men; his hand shall be against every man, and every mans hand against him; and he shall dwell over against all his brethren.
ESV : He shall be a wild donkey of a man, his hand against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he shall dwell over against all his kinsmen."
ERVEN : Ishmael will be wild and free like a wild donkey. He will be against everyone, and everyone will be against him. He will move from place to place and camp near his brothers."

BNV : প্রভু হাগারের সঙ্গে কথা বললেন| হাগার ঈশ্বরের এক নতুন নাম দিল| সে তাঁকে বলল, “আপনি হলেন ঈশ্বর যিনি আমায় দেখেন|” সে এই কথা বলল কারণ সে ভাবল, “এরকম জায়গাতেও ঈশ্বর আমায় দেখতে পাচ্ছেন, আমার ভালমন্দের কথা চিন্তা করছেন|”
KJV : And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?
YLT : And she calleth the name of Jehovah who is speaking unto her, `Thou [art], O God, my beholder;` for she said, `Even here have I looked behind my beholder?`
RV : And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou art a God that seeth: for she said, Have I even here looked after him that seeth me?
RSV : So she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, "Thou art a God of seeing"; for she said, "Have I really seen God and remained alive after seeing him?"
ASV : And she called the name of Jehovah that spake unto her, Thou art a God that seeth: for she said, Have I even here looked after him that seeth me?
ESV : So she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, "You are a God of seeing," for she said, "Truly here I have seen him who looks after me."
ERVEN : The Lord talked to Hagar. She began to use a new name for God. She said to him, "You are 'God Who Sees Me.'" She said this because she thought, "I see that even in this place God sees me and cares for me!"

BNV : সুতরাং ঐ কূপের নাম হল বের-লহয়-রোযী| কাদেশ এবং বেরদ অঞ্চলের মধ্যে ঐ কূপের অবস্থান|
KJV : Wherefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; behold, [it is] between Kadesh and Bered.
YLT : therefore hath one called the well, `The well of the Living One, my beholder;` lo, between Kadesh and Bered.

KJV : And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son’s name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.
YLT : And Hagar beareth to Abram a son; and Abram calleth the name of his son, whom Hagar hath borne, Ishmael;
RV : And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called the name of his son, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.
RSV : And Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael.

BNV : যখন হাগারের গর্ভে ইশ্মাযেলের জন্ম হয় তখন অব্রামের বয়স 86 বছর|
KJV : And Abram [was] fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.
YLT : and Abram [is] a son of eighty and six years in Hagar`s bearing Ishmael to Abram.
RV : And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.
RSV : Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.
ASV : And Abram was fourscore and six years old, when Hagar bare Ishmael to Abram.

ERVEN : Abram was 86 years old when Ishmael was born from Hagar.
