BNV : দারিয়াবস ভাবলেন য়ে 120 জন রাজ্যপালকে তাঁর সম্পূর্ণ রাজত্বের দায়িত্ব দেওয়াটা বুদ্ধিমানের কাজ হবে|
KJV : It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;
YLT : It hath been good before Darius, and he hath established over the kingdom satraps -- a hundred and twenty -- that they may be throughout the whole kingdom,

BNV : এবং তিনি এই 120 জন রাজ্যপালকে তত্ত্বাবধান করবার জন্য তিন জন অধ্যক্ষ নিযুক্ত করলেন| দানিয়েল ছিলেন এই তিনজনের একজন| রাজা এদের নিযুক্ত করেছিলেন যাতে কেউ তাঁকে ঠকিয়ে রাজ্যের ক্ষতি না করতে পারে|
KJV : And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel [was] first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.
YLT : and higher than they three presidents, of whom Daniel [is] first, that these satraps may give to them an account, and the king have no loss.

ERVEN : He chose three men to rule over the 120 satraps. Daniel was one of the three supervisors. The king put these men in this position to keep anyone from cheating him.

BNV : দানিয়েল তাঁর উত্কৃষ্ট চরিত্রের জন্য অন্য য়ে কোন অধ্যক্ষ অথবা রাজ্যপালের চেয়ে তাঁর পদে ভালো অবস্থায় ছিলেন| এতে রাজা এতই সন্তুষ্ট হলেন য়ে তিনি দানিয়েলকে সমগ্র রাজ্যের শাসক হিসেবে নিয়োগ করবেন বলে স্থির করলেন|
KJV : Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit [was] in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
YLT : Then this Daniel hath been overseer over the presidents and satraps, because that an excellent spirit [is] in him, and the king hath thought to establish him over the whole kingdom.

ERVEN : Daniel proved himself to be a better supervisor than any of the others. He did this by his good character and great ability. The king was so impressed with Daniel that he planned to make him ruler over the whole kingdom.

BNV : কিন্তু অন্য অধ্যক্ষ ও শাসকরা এই খবর শুনে ঈর্ষান্বিত হল| তাই দানিয়েল রাজার জন্য য়ে কাজ করছিলেন তার মধ্যে তারা দোষ খুঁজে বের করবার চেষ্টা করছিল| কিন্তু তারা তাঁর কাজে কোন দোষ-এুটি খুঁজে পেল না| দানিয়েল ছিলেন বিশ্বাসী| তিনি কখনও ইচ্ছে করে অথবা ভুলেও কোন ভুল কাজ করেন নি|
KJV : Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he [was] faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
YLT : Then the presidents and satraps have been seeking to find a cause of complaint against Daniel concerning the kingdom, and any cause of complaint and corruption they are not able to find, because that he [is] faithful, and any error and corruption have not been found in him.
RV : Then the presidents and the satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel as touching the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

ERVEN : But when the other supervisors and the satraps heard about this, they were very jealous. They tried to find reasons to accuse Daniel. So they watched what Daniel did as he went about doing the business of the government. But they could not find anything wrong with him, so they could not accuse him of doing anything wrong. Daniel was a man people could trust. He did not cheat the king, and he worked very hard.

BNV : অবশেষে সেই লোকরা দেখল য়ে দানিয়েলকে দোষারোপ করার মতো কোন কারণই তারা খুঁজে পাবে না| তাই তারা ঠিক করল য়ে তারা রাজার কাছে দানিয়েলের ঈশ্বরের নীতি সম্পর্কিত ব্যাপারে অভিয়োগ করবে|
KJV : Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find [it] against him concerning the law of his God.
YLT : Then these men are saying, `We do not find against this Daniel any cause of complaint, except we have found [it] against him in the law of his God.`
RV : Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
RSV : Then these men said, "We shall not find any ground for complaint against this Daniel unless we find it in connection with the law of his God."

ERVEN : Finally they said, "We will never find any reason to accuse Daniel of doing something wrong. So we must find something to complain about that is connected to the law of his God."

BNV : তাই ঐ দুজন অধ্যক্ষ ও শাসকরা দল বেঁধে রাজার কাছে গিয়ে বলল, “মহারাজ দারিয়াবস চিরজীবি হোন!
KJV : Then these presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever.
YLT : Then these presidents and satraps have assembled near the king, and thus they are saying to him: `O king Darius, to the ages live!
RV : Then these presidents and satraps assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him, King Darius, live for ever.

BNV : সমস্ত অধ্যক্ষগণ, গুরুত্বপূর্ণ রাজকর্মচারীগণ, মন্ত্রীগণ এবং রাজ্যপালরা একটি নির্দিষ্ট ব্যাপারে একমত হল| আপনি এ বিষযটিকে একটি আদেশ হিসাবে প্রচার করুন যা সকলে মানবে| এই আদেশটি হল য়ে পরবর্তী 30 দিনের মধ্যে কেউ যদি রাজা ছাড়া অন্য কোন দেবতা বা মানুষের কাছে প্রার্থনা করে তবে তাকে সিংহের খাঁচায় নিক্ষেপ করা হবে|
KJV : All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
YLT : Taken counsel have all the presidents of the kingdom, the prefects, and the satraps, the counsellors, and the governors, to establish a royal statute, and to strengthen an interdict, that any who seeketh a petition from any god and man until thirty days, save of thee, O king, is cast into a den of lions.

ERVEN : The supervisors, prefects, satraps, advisors, and governors have all agreed on something. We think that the king should make this law and that everyone must obey it: For the next 30 days, whoever prays to any god or man, except to you, king, will be thrown into the lions' den.

BNV : মহারাজ আপনি এই আদেশ লেখা কাগজটিতে স্বাক্ষর করে এই আদেশটি অপরিবর্তিত রাখার ব্যবস্থা করুন, কেননা মাদীয ও পারসীকদের নিয়মানুসারে কোন আইন বা আদেশ বাতিল বা পরিবর্তন হয না|”
KJV : Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
YLT : Now, O king, thou dost establish the interdict, and sign the writing, that it is not to be changed, as a law of Media and Persia, that doth not pass away.`

BNV : তাই রাজা দারিয়াবস এই আদেশপত্রটি সাক্ষর করলেন|
KJV : Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
YLT : Therefore king Darius hath signed the writing and interdict.

BNV : দানিয়েল, প্রত্যেক দিন তিন বার করে নতজানু হয়ে ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করতেন এবং তাঁর গুণগান করতেন| যখন তিনি এই আজ্ঞার কথা শুনলেন তিনি তাঁর বাড়ীর ভেতরে গিয়ে জেরুশালেমের দিকে খোলা জানালার কাছে গেলেন এবং নতজানু হয়ে প্রতি দিনের মতো ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করলেন|
KJV : Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
YLT : And Daniel, when he hath known that the writing is signed, hath gone up to his house, and the window being opened for him, in his upper chamber, over-against Jerusalem, three times in a day he is kneeling on his knees, and praying, and confessing before his God, because that he was doing [it] before this.
RV : And when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; (now his windows were open in his chamber toward Jerusalem;) and he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

ERVEN : Daniel always prayed to God three times every day. Three times every day, he bowed down on his knees to pray and praise God. Even though Daniel heard about the new law, he still went to his house to pray. He went up to the upper room of his house and opened the windows that faced toward Jerusalem. Then Daniel bowed down on his knees and prayed just as he always had done.

BNV : তখন ওই সব লোকরা দল বেঁধে দানিয়েলের বাড়ি গেল এবং তাঁকে প্রার্থনা করতে এবং ঈশ্বরের কাছে সাহায্য চাইতে দেখতে পেল|
KJV : Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.

BNV : তাই তারা রাজার কাছে গিয়ে তাঁকে তাঁর আদেশের কথা স্মরণ করিয়ে দিয়ে বলল, “মহারাজ আপনি একটি আদেশ জারি করেছেন য়ে পরবর্তী 30 দিনের মধ্যে যদি কেউ রাজা ছাড়া অন্য কোন মানুষ বা দেবতার কাছে প্রার্থনা করে তবে তাকে সিংহের খাঁচায় নিক্ষেপ করা হবে| এবং আপনি আদেশটিতে স্বাক্ষরও করেছেন|”রাজা উত্তর দিলেন, “হ্যাঁ, এই আদেশটি মাদীয় ও পারসীকদের একটি আদেশ| এই আদেশ কখনও বাতিল করা বা বদলানো যায় না|”
KJV : Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king’s decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask [a petition] of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
YLT : then they have come near, yea, they are saying before the king concerning the king`s interdict: `Hast thou not signed an interdict, that any man who seeketh from any god and man until thirty days, save of thee, O king, is cast into a den of lions?` Answered hath the king, and said, `The thing [is] certain as a law of Media and Persia, that doth not pass away.`

ESV : Then they came near and said before the king, concerning the injunction, "O king! Did you not sign an injunction, that anyone who makes petition to any god or man within thirty days except to you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?" The king answered and said, "The thing stands fast, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be revoked."
ERVEN : So they went to the king and talked to him about the law he had made. They said, "King Darius, you signed a law that says, for the next 30 days anyone who prays to any god or man except you, the king, would be thrown into the lions' den. You did sign that law, didn't you?" The king answered, "Yes, I signed that law, and the laws of the Medes and Persians cannot be canceled or changed."

BNV : তখন ঐ লোকরা বলল, “দানিয়েল নামক ওই ব্যক্তিটি আপনাকে অথবা য়ে আদেশ পত্রে আপনি স্বাক্ষর করেছেন, তাকে কোন গুরুত্ব দিচ্ছে না| দানিয়েল যিহূদা থেকে আনা বন্দীদের একজন এবং সে আপনার আদেশ মানছে না| সে এখনও রোজ তিন বার করে ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করছে|”
KJV : Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which [is] of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
YLT : Then they have answered, yea, they are saying before the king, that, `Daniel, who [is] of the sons of the Removed of Judah, hath not placed on thee, O king, [any] regard, nor on the interdict that thou hast signed, and three times in a day he is seeking his petition.`
RV : Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the interdict that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
RSV : Then they answered before the king, "That Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no heed to you, O king, or the interdict you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day."
ASV : Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, who is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the interdict that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
ESV : Then they answered and said before the king, "Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, O king, or the injunction you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day."
ERVEN : Then they said to the king, "That man named Daniel is not paying any attention to you. He is one of the captives from Judah, and he is not paying attention to the law you signed. Daniel still prays to his God three times every day."

BNV : রাজা একথা শুনে খুবই দুঃখ পেলেন ও মুষড়ে পড়লেন| তিনি দানিয়েলকে রক্ষা করতে চেয়েছিলেন এবং সেই জন্য সূর্য়াস্ত পর্য়ন্ত তিনি দানিয়েলকে রক্ষা করার উপায় ভাবতে লাগলেন|
KJV : Then the king, when he heard [these] words, was sore displeased with himself, and set [his] heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
YLT : Then the king, when he hath heard the matter, is greatly displeased at himself, and on Daniel he hath set the heart to deliver him, and till the going up of the sun he was arranging to deliver him.
RV : Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to rescue him.
RSV : Then the king, when he heard these words, was much distressed, and set his mind to deliver Daniel; and he labored till the sun went down to rescue him.

ERVEN : The king became very sad and upset when he heard this. He decided to save Daniel. He worked until sunset trying to think of a way to save him.

BNV : তখন ওই লোকরা রাজার কাছে একত্রে গিয়ে বলল, “মহারাজ মনে রাখবেন মাদীয় ও পারসীকদের নিয়মানুসারে কোন আইন বা আদেশে যদি রাজা স্বাক্ষর করেন তবে তা বাতিল বা পরিবর্তন করা যায় না|”
KJV : Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians [is,] That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
YLT : Then these men have assembled near the king, and are saying to the king, `know, O king, that the law of Media and Persia [is]: That any interdict and statute that the king doth establish is not to be changed.`
RV : Then these men assembled together unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians, that no interdict nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
RSV : Then these men came by agreement to the king, and said to the king, "Know, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians that no interdict or ordinance which the king establishes can be changed."
ASV : Then these men assembled together unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians, that no interdict nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.
ESV : Then these men came by agreement to the king and said to the king, "Know, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians that no injunction or ordinance that the king establishes can be changed."
ERVEN : Then the men went as a group to the king and said to him, "Remember, king, that the law of the Medes and Persians says that no law or command signed by the king can ever be canceled or changed."

BNV : তখন রাজা তাঁর ভৃত্যদের দানিয়েলকে আনতে আদেশ দিলেন এবং তারা তাঁকে আনল| রাজা দানিয়েলকে বললেন, “আমি আশা করি য়ে ঈশ্বরকে তুমি অনবরত উপাসনা করছ তিনি তোমায় রক্ষা করবেন|”
KJV : Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast [him] into the den of lions. [Now] the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
YLT : Then the king hath said, and they have brought Daniel, and have cast [him] into a den of lions. The king hath answered and said to Daniel, `Thy God, whom thou art serving continually, Himself doth deliver thee.`
RV : Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. {cf15i Now} the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

ESV : Then the king commanded, and Daniel was brought and cast into the den of lions. The king declared to Daniel, "May your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you!"
ERVEN : So King Darius gave the order. They brought Daniel and threw him into the lions' den. The king said to Daniel, "May the God you serve save you!"

BNV : একটি বড় পাথর আনা হল এবং গুহামুখে রাখা হল| রাজা ও তাঁর কর্মচারীরা সেই পাথরটি তাদের আংটি দিয়ে সীলমোহর করলেন, যাতে কেউ না পাথর সরাতে পারে এবং দানিয়েলকে গুহা থেকে বের করে আনতে পারে|
KJV : And a stone was brought and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.
YLT : And a stone hath been brought and placed at the mouth of the den, and the king hath sealed it with his signet, and with the signet of his great men, that the purpose be not changed concerning Daniel.
RV : And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that nothing might be changed concerning Daniel.

ERVEN : A big rock was brought and put over the opening of the lions' den. Then the king used his ring and put his seal on the rock. He also used the rings of his officials and put their seals on the rock. This showed that no one could move that rock and bring Daniel out of the lion's den.
