BNV : নবূখদ্নিত্‌সরের রাজত্বের দ্বিতীয় বছরে তিনি এমন কিছু স্বপ্ন দেখে উদ্বিগ্ন হলেন য়ে তাঁর ঘুমের ব্যাঘাত ঘটল|
KJV : And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.

BNV : সুতরাং রাজা তাঁর স্বপ্ন বুঝিয়ে বলবার জন্য মন্ত্রবেত্তা, মায়াবিদ্যা, যাদুকর এবং কল্দীয়দের আদেশ দিলেন| তাই তারা রাজার সামনে এসেছিল|
KJV : Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.

ERVEN : So the king called his wise men to come to him. They used magic tricks and watched the stars. They did this to try to interpret dreams and to learn what would happen in the future. The king wanted them to tell him what he had dreamed, so they came in and stood in front of him.

BNV : তারপর রাজা তাদের বললেন, “আমি একটি স্বপ্ন দেখে উদ্বিগ্ন হয়েছি| আমি স্বপ্নটির সম্বন্ধে সব কিছু জানতে চাই|”
KJV : And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.

BNV : তখন কল্দীয়রা অরামীয় ভাষায় রাজাকে বলল, “মহারাজ দীর্ঘজীবি হন! আমরা আপনার অনুগত| আপনি অনুগ্রহ করে আপনার স্বপ্নের কথা বলুন যাতে আমরা তার ব্যাখ্যা করতে পারি|”
KJV : Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.
YLT : And the Chaldeans speak to the king [in] Aramaean, `O king, to the ages live, tell the dream to thy servants, and the interpretation we do shew.`

BNV : রাজা নবূখদ্নিত্‌সর তাদের বললেন, “না, এই আমার সিদ্ধান্ত| তোমরাই আমাকে স্বপ্নটি সম্বন্ধে বলবে এবং তার ব্যাখ্যা দেবে| তোমরা যদি এটা না করতে পারো তবে আমি তোমাদের কেটে টুকরো করে ফেলার আদেশ জারি করব| আমি আরো একটি আদেশ দেব যাতে তোমাদের ঘর-বাড়ি জঞ্জালের স্তূপে পরিণত হয|
KJV : The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.
YLT : The king hath answered and said to the Chaldeans, `The thing from me is gone; if ye do not cause me to know the dream and its interpretation, pieces ye are made, and your houses are made dunghills;

ERVEN : Then King Nebuchadnezzar said to them, "No, you must tell me the dream, and then you must tell me what it means. If you don't, I will give an order for you to be cut into pieces. And I will order your houses to be destroyed until they are nothing but piles of dust and ashes.

BNV : কিন্তু তোমরা যদি আমার স্বপ্ন ও তার অর্থ আমাকে বল, তাহলে আমি তোমাদের প্রচুর পুরস্কার ও সম্মান প্রদান করব|”

BNV : কিন্তু সেই জ্ঞানী ব্যক্তিরা রাজাকে অনুরোধ করল তাঁর স্বপ্নের কথা আর একবার বলতে যাতে তারা সেটা ব্যাখ্যা করতে পারে|

BNV : তখন নবূখদ্নিত্‌সর বললেন, “তোমরা জানো য়ে আমার কথাই আদেশ এবং আমি জানি য়ে তোমরা আরো সময় লাভ করতে চাইছ|
KJV : The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
YLT : The king hath answered and said, `Of a truth I know that time ye are gaining, because that ye have seen that the thing is gone from me,

ERVEN : Then King Nebuchadnezzar answered, "I know that you are trying to get more time. You know that I meant what I said.

BNV : তোমরা জানো য়ে আমার স্বপ্ন কিসের সম্বন্ধে ছিল তা বলতে না পারলে তোমরা শাস্তি পাবে| তোমরা ইতিমধ্যেই আমাকে মিথ্য়া কথা বলবার চএান্ত করেছ| তোমরা ভাবছ বেশী সময় নিলে আমি আমার আদেশের কথা ভুলে যাব| তাই এখন আমাকে বল আমার স্বপ্নটি কি যাতে আমি বুঝতে পারি য়ে তোমরা এর সঠিক অর্থ ব্যাখ্যা করতে পারবে!”
KJV : But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, [there is but] one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.
YLT : [so] that, if the dream ye do not cause me to know -- one is your sentence, seeing a word lying and corrupt ye have prepared to speak before me, till that the time is changed, therefore the dream tell ye to me, then do I know that its interpretation ye do shew me.`

ERVEN : You know that you will be punished if you don't tell me about my dream. So you have all agreed to lie to me. You are hoping for more time so that I will forget what I want you to do. Now tell me the dream. If you can tell me the dream, I will know that you can tell me what it really means."

BNV : উত্তরে কল্দীয়রা রাজাকে বলল, “পৃথিবীতে এমন কোন লোক নেই য়ে রাজা যা চাইছেন তা করতে পারে| এমনকি সব চেয়ে মহান ও সব চেয়ে শক্তিশালী রাজাও কোন মন্ত্রবেত্তা, যাদুকর অথবা কোন কল্দীয়কে কখনও এরকম কথা জিজ্ঞাসা করেন নি|
KJV : The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore [there is] no king, lord, nor ruler, [that] asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.
YLT : The Chaldeans have answered before the king, and are saying, `There is not a man on the earth who is able to shew the king`s matter; therefore, no king, chief, and ruler, hath asked such a thing as this of any scribe, and enchanter, and Chaldean;

ERVEN : The Chaldeans answered the king. They said, "There is not a man on earth who can do what the king is asking! No king has ever asked the wise men, the men who do magic, or the Chaldeans to do something like this. Not even the greatest and most powerful king has ever asked his wise men to do such a thing.

BNV : রাজা এমন একটি কঠিন কথা বলছেন যা বস্তুতঃ অসম্ভব| কেবলমাত্র দেবগণই, যারা মানুষের মধ্যে থাকেন না, এমন কথা বলতে পারেন|”
KJV : And [it is] a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

BNV : যখন রাজা একথা শুনলেন, তিনি প্রচণ্ড রেগে গেলেন| তাই তিনি বাবিলের সমস্ত জ্ঞানী লোকদের হত্যা করার আদেশ দিলেন|

KJV : Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise [men] of Babylon:

BNV : দানিয়েল অরিয়োককে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “কেন রাজা এমন নিষ্ঠুর আদেশ জারি করলেন?”তখন অরিয়োক রাজার স্বপ্নের ব্যাপারে সমস্ত বৃত্তান্ত দানিয়েলকে বুঝিয়ে বললেন|
KJV : He answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why [is] the decree [so] hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
YLT : He hath answered and said to Arioch the king`s captain, `Wherefore [is] the sentence so urgent from before the king?` Then Arioch hath made the thing known to Daniel,

BNV : দানিয়েল রাজা নবূখদ্নিত্‌সরের কাছে গেলেন এবং তাঁর কাছ থেকে সাক্ষাত্কারের সময় দিতে বললেন যাতে তিনি রাজার স্বপ্নের ব্যাখ্যা করে দিতে পারেন|
KJV : Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.

BNV : দানিয়েল তাঁর বন্ধুদের স্বর্গের ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করতে বললেন যাতে ঈশ্বর দয়া করে অন্যদের কাছ থেকে যা লুকিয়ে রাখা হয়েছে তা তাদের বলেন| তাহলে দানিয়েল ও তাঁর সঙ্গীদের বাবিলের অন্যান্য জ্ঞানী মানুষদের সঙ্গে মরতে হবে না|
KJV : That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise [men] of Babylon.

BNV : রাত্রি বেলা এক দর্শনে ঈশ্বর সেই নিগূঢ় বিষয় দানিয়েলের কাছে প্রকাশ করলেন| তখন দানিয়েল ঈশ্বরকে তাঁর দয়ার জন্য ধন্যবাদ দিয়ে তাঁর গুণগান করলেন|

BNV : চতুর্থ রাজ্য লৌহবত্‌ দৃঢ় হবে| চতুর্থ রাজ্যটি অন্য আর সমস্ত রাজ্যের ধ্বংসের কারণ হবে য়েমন লোহা সব কিছু টুকরো টুকরো করে ভেঙ্গে দেয|
KJV : And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all [things:] and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.
YLT : And the fourth kingdom is strong as iron, because that iron is breaking small, and making feeble, all [things], even as iron that is breaking all these, it beateth small and breaketh.

KJV : And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
