BNV : ফীষ্ট সেই প্রদেশে এলেন, এর তিনদিন পর তিনি কৈসরিয়া থেকে জেরুশালেমে গেলেন৷
KJV : Now when Festus was come into the province, after three days he ascended from Caesarea to Jerusalem.
YLT : Festus, therefore, having come into the province, after three days went up to Jerusalem from Caesarea,

BNV : সেখানে প্রধান যাজকরা ও ইহুদী সমাজপতিরা তাঁর কাছে এসে পৌলের বিরুদ্ধে তাদের অভিযোগ জানাল৷
KJV : Then the high priest and the chief of the Jews informed him against Paul, and besought him,

BNV : ফীষ্টের কাছে তারা এই আবেদন জানাল য়েন তিনি পৌলকে জেরুশালেমে পাঠাবার ব্যবস্থা করেন৷ তারা এই অনুগ্রহ দেখানোর অনুরোধ করেছিল কারণ তারা পথেই পৌলকে হত্যা করার পরিকল্পনা করেছিল৷
KJV : And desired favour against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem, laying wait in the way to kill him.
YLT : asking favour against him, that he may send for him to Jerusalem, making an ambush to put him to death in the way.

BNV : কিন্তু ফীষ্ট বললেন, ‘না, পৌল কৈসরিয়ায় বন্দী হয়ে আছে এবং আমি শিগ্গির কৈসরিয়ায় যাব৷
KJV : But Festus answered, that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself would depart shortly [thither. ]
YLT : Then, indeed, Festus answered that Paul is kept in Caesarea, and himself is about speedily to go on thither,
RV : Howbeit Festus answered, that Paul was kept in charge at Caesarea, and that he himself was about to depart {cf15i thither} shortly.

BNV : তাই তোমাদের মধ্যে যাঁরা ক্ষমতায় আছে, তারা আমার সঙ্গে সেখানে চলুন৷ এই লোকটি যদি কিছু ভুল করে থাকে তবে তা সেখানেই পেশ করুক৷’
KJV : Let them therefore, said he, which among you are able, go down with [me,] and accuse this man, if there be any wickedness in him.
YLT : `Therefore those able among you -- saith he -- having come down together, if there be anything in this man -- let them accuse him;`
RV : Let them therefore, saith he, which are of power among you, go down with me, and if there is anything amiss in the man, let them accuse him.
RSV : "So," said he, "let the men of authority among you go down with me, and if there is anything wrong about the man, let them accuse him."

ERVEN : and your leaders can go with me. If this man has really done anything wrong, they can accuse him there."

BNV : ফীষ্ট জেরুশালেমে প্রায় আট দশদিন থাকার পর কৈসরিয়ায় চলে গেলেন৷ পরের দিন তিনি বিচারালয়ে নিজের আসনে বসে পৌলকে সেখানে হাজির করতে হুকুম করলেন৷
KJV : And when he had tarried among them more than ten days, he went down unto Caesarea; and the next day sitting on the judgment seat commanded Paul to be brought.
YLT : and having tarried among them more than ten days, having gone down to Caesarea, on the morrow having sat upon the tribunal, he commanded Paul to be brought;

ERVEN : Festus stayed in Jerusalem another eight or ten days and then went back to Caesarea. The next day Festus told the soldiers to bring Paul before him. Festus was seated on the judgment seat.

BNV : পৌল সেখানে এলে জেরুশালেম থেকে য়েসব ইহুদীরা এসেছিল তারা চারপাশে ঘিরে দাঁড়িয়ে তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে এমন সব জঘন্য অপরাধের কথা বলতে লাগল, যার কোন প্রমাণ তারা নিজেরাই দিতে পারল না৷
KJV : And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.

BNV : পৌল আত্মপক্ষ সমর্থন করে বললেন, ‘আমি ইহুদীদের বিধি-ব্যবস্থা বা মন্দির কিংবা কৈসরের বিরুদ্ধে কোন অপরাধ করি নি৷’
KJV : While he answered for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.
YLT : he making defence -- `Neither in regard to the law of the Jews, nor in regard to the temple, nor in regard to Caesar -- did I commit any sin.`

BNV : কিন্তু ইহুদীদের কাছে সুনাম পাবার আশায় খ্রীষ্ট পৌলকে বললেন, ‘তুমি কি জেরুশালেমে গিয়ে সেখানে আমার সামনে এসব বিষয়ে তোমার বিচার হয় তা চাও?’
KJV : But Festus, willing to do the Jews a pleasure, answered Paul, and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me?
YLT : And Festus willing to lay on the Jews a favour, answering Paul, said, `Art thou willing, to Jerusalem having gone up, there concerning these things to be judged before me?`
RV : But Festus, desiring to gain favour with the Jews, answered Paul, and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me?
RSV : But Festus, wishing to do the Jews a favor, said to Paul, "Do you wish to go up to Jerusalem, and there be tried on these charges before me?"

ERVEN : But Festus wanted to please the Jews. So he asked Paul, "Do you want to go to Jerusalem for me to judge you there on these charges?"

BNV : পৌল বললেন, ‘আমি কৈসরের বিচারালয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে আছি, এখানেই আমার বিচার হওয়া উচিত৷ আমি ইহুদীদের বিরুদ্ধে কিছুই করি নি, একথা আপনি ভালোভাবেই জানেন৷
KJV : Then said Paul, I stand at Caesar’s judgment seat, where I ought to be judged: to the Jews have I done no wrong, as thou very well knowest.
YLT : and Paul said, `At the tribunal of Caesar I am standing, where it behoveth me to be judged; to Jews I did no unrighteousness, as thou dost also very well know;
RV : But Paul said, I am standing before Caesar-s judgment-seat, where I ought to be judged: to the Jews have I done no wrong, as thou also very well knowest.

ERVEN : Paul said, "I am standing at Caesar's judgment seat now. This is where I should be judged. I have done nothing wrong to the Jews, and you know it.

BNV : আমি যদি কোন অভিযোগে দোষী সাব্যস্ত হই ও মৃত্যুদণ্ড পাবার য়োগ্য হই, তবে আমি মৃত্যু থেকে রক্ষা পাবার জন্য বলব না৷ কিন্তু এরা আমার বিরুদ্ধে য়েসব অভিযোগ করছে, এসব যদি সত্য না হয় তবে এদের হাতে কেউ আমাকে তুলে দিতে পারবে না, কারণ আমি কৈসরের কাছে আপীল করছি!’
KJV : For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar.
YLT : for if indeed I am unrighteous, and anything worthy of death have done, I deprecate not to die; and if there is none of the things of which these accuse me, no one is able to make a favour of me to them; to Caesar I appeal!`

ERVEN : If I have done something wrong, and the law says I must die, then I agree that I should die. I don't ask to be saved from death. But if these charges are not true, then no one can hand me over to these people. No, I want Caesar to hear my case!"

BNV : তখন খ্রীষ্ট তাঁর পরামর্শদাতাদের সঙ্গে কথা বললেন, পরে ফীষ্ট পৌলকে বললেন, ‘তুমি কৈসরের কাছে আপীল করেছ, তোমাকে কৈসরের কাছে পাঠানো হবে৷’
KJV : Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, Hast thou appealed unto Caesar? unto Caesar shalt thou go.
YLT : then Festus, having communed with the council, answered, `To Caesar thou hast appealed; to Caesar thou shalt go.`

ERVEN : Festus talked about this with his advisors. Then he said, "You have asked to see Caesar, so you will go to Caesar!"

BNV : এর কিছু দিন পর রাজা আগ্রিপ্প ও বর্ণীকী কৈসরিয়ায় এসে খ্রীষ্টের সঙ্গে দেখা করলেন৷
KJV : And after certain days king Agrippa and Bernice came unto Caesarea to salute Festus.
YLT : And certain days having passed, Agrippa the king, and Bernice, came down to Caesarea saluting Festus,

BNV : তাঁরা সেখানে বেশ কিছু দিন থাকলেন৷ রাজার কাছে ফীষ্ট পৌলের বিষয় এইভাবে বললেন, ‘ফীলিক্স কোন একজন লোককে এখানে বন্দী করে রেখেছেন৷
KJV : And when they had been there many days, Festus declared Paul’s cause unto the king, saying, There is a certain man left in bonds by Felix:
YLT : and as they were continuing there more days, Festus submitted to the king the things concerning Paul, saying, `There is a certain man, left by Felix, a prisoner,

BNV : আমি যখন জেরুশালেমে ছিলাম, সেই সময় ইহুদীদের প্রধান যাজকরা ও সমাজপতিরা তার বিরুদ্ধে আবেদন করে বিচার ও শাস্তি চেয়েছিল৷
KJV : About whom, when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed [me,] desiring [to have] judgment against him.

BNV : আমি তাদের বলেছিলাম য়ে, ‘যার নামে অভিযোগ দায়ের করা হচ্ছে, সে যতক্ষণ পর্যন্ত না অভিযোগকারীদের সামনে আত্মপক্ষ সমর্থন করতে পাচ্ছে, ততক্ষণ কোন লোককে তাদের হাতে তুলে দেওয়া রোমাণদের নিয়ম নয়৷
KJV : To whom I answered, It is not the manner of the Romans to deliver any man to die, before that he which is accused have the accusers face to face, and have licence to answer for himself concerning the crime laid against him.
YLT : unto whom I answered, that it is not a custom of Romans to make a favour of any man to die, before that he who is accused may have the accusers face to face, and may receive place of defence in regard to the charge laid against [him].

ERVEN : But I told them, 'When a man is accused of doing something wrong, Romans don't hand him over for others to judge. First, he must face the people accusing him. And then he must be allowed to defend himself against their charges.'

BNV : আর তারা আমার সঙ্গে এখানে এলে, আমি আর দেরী না করে, পরদিনই সেই বন্দীকে বিচারের জন্য আমার বিচারালয়ে আনাই৷
KJV : Therefore, when they were come hither, without any delay on the morrow I sat on the judgment seat, and commanded the man to be brought forth.

BNV : যখন তারা দাঁড়িয়ে তাকে দোষী সাব্যস্ত করতে গেল তখন তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে য়ে রকম দোষের কথা আমি অনুমান করেছিলাম, তার অভিযোগকারীরা সেই রকম কোন দোষই দেখাতে পারল না৷
KJV : Against whom when the accusers stood up, they brought none accusation of such things as I supposed:
YLT : concerning whom the accusers, having stood up, were bringing against [him] no accusation of the things I was thinking of,

BNV : তার সাথে তাদের ধর্ম সম্বন্ধে এবং যীশু নামে এক ব্যক্তিযিনি মারা গিয়েছিলেন কিন্তু যাকে পৌল জীবিত বলে প্রচার করত সে সম্বন্ধে কিছু মতপার্থক্য ছিল৷
KJV : But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

ERVEN : Their charges were all about their own religion and about a man named Jesus. Jesus died, but Paul said that he is still alive.

BNV : আমি বুঝে উঠতে পারলাম না য়ে এই ধরণের প্রশ্নগুলির উত্তর কিভাবে অনুসন্ধান করা হবে, তাই তাকে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম, ‘তুমি কি জেরুশালেমে গিয়ে সেখানে এই বিষয়ের বিচার হোক তাই চাও?’
KJV : And because I doubted of such manner of questions, I asked [him] whether he would go to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these matters.
YLT : and I, doubting in regard to the question concerning this, said, If he would wish to go on to Jerusalem, and there to be judged concerning these things --

KJV : But when Paul had appealed to be reserved unto the hearing of Augustus, I commanded him to be kept till I might send him to Caesar.

BNV : আগ্রিপ্প বললেন, ‘হ্যাঁ, আমিও নিজে তার কথা শুনতে চেয়েছিলাম৷’ফীষ্ট বললেন, ‘বেশ, কালই শুনবেন৷’
KJV : Then Agrippa said unto Festus, I would also hear the man myself. To morrow, said he, thou shalt hear him.

BNV : পরদিন রাজা আগ্রিপ্প ও বর্নীকী খুব জাঁকজমকের সাথে এসে সভা ঘরে ঢুকলেন, তাঁদের সঙ্গে সেনাপতিরা ও শহরের গন্যমান্য লোকেরাও ছিলেন৷ ফীষ্টের হুকুমে পৌলকে সেখানে নিয়ে আসা হল৷
KJV : And on the morrow, when Agrippa was come, and Bernice, with great pomp, and was entered into the place of hearing, with the chief captains, and principal men of the city, at Festus’ commandment Paul was brought forth.
YLT : on the morrow, therefore -- on the coming of Agrippa and Bernice with much display, and they having entered into the audience chamber, with the chief captains also, and the principal men of the city, and Festus having ordered -- Paul was brought forth.

ERVEN : The next day Agrippa and Bernice came to the meeting with great show, acting like very important people. They entered the room with military leaders and important men of the city. Festus ordered the soldiers to bring Paul in.

BNV : তখন ফীষ্ট বললেন, ‘হে রাজা আগ্রিপ্প ও আমাদের সঙ্গে যাঁরা উপস্থিত আছেন তারা এই লোককে দেখছেন, যার বিরুদ্ধে এখানকার ও জেরুশালেমের সমস্ত ইহুদী সমাজ আমার কাছে চিত্‌কার করছে য়ে এই লোকের আর বেঁচে থাকা উচিত্ নয়৷
KJV : And Festus said, King Agrippa, and all men which are here present with us, ye see this man, about whom all the multitude of the Jews have dealt with me, both at Jerusalem, and [also] here, crying that he ought not to live any longer.

BNV : কিন্তু এর মৃত্যুদণ্ডের য়োগ্য কোন অপরাধই আমি পাই নি৷ এ যখন নিজে সম্রাটের কাছে আপীল করেছে, তখন আমি সেখানে একে পাঠাব বলে স্থির করেছি৷

BNV : কিন্তু সম্রাটের কাছে এর বিষয়ে নির্দিষ্ট করে কি বলব তা জানি না৷ সেইজন্য আমি আপনাদের সামনে, বিশেষ করে রাজা আগ্রিপ্পর সামনে একে হাজির করেছি৷ য়েন একে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করার পর আমি কিছু পাই য়ে সম্বন্ধে লিখতে পারি৷
