BNV : পৌল মহাসভার দিকে স্থির দৃষ্টিতে তাকিয়ে বলতে শুরু করলেন, ‘ভাইয়েরা, ঈশ্বরের দৃষ্টিতে আমি আজ পর্যন্ত শুদ্ধ বিবেক অনুযাযী জীবনযাপন করছি৷’
KJV : And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men [and] brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.
YLT : And Paul having earnestly beheld the sanhedrim, said, `Men, brethren, I in all good conscience have lived to God unto this day;`
RV : And Paul, looking stedfastly on the council, said, Brethren, I have lived before God in all good conscience until this day.
RSV : And Paul, looking intently at the council, said, "Brethren, I have lived before God in all good conscience up to this day."
ASV : And Paul, looking stedfastly on the council, said, Brethren, I have lived before God in all good conscience until this day.
ESV : And looking intently at the council, Paul said, "Brothers, I have lived my life before God in all good conscience up to this day."
ERVEN : Paul looked at the council members and said, "Brothers, I have lived my life in a good way before God. I have always done what I thought was right."

BNV : তখন মহাযাজক অননিয়, পৌলের কাছাকাছি যাঁরা দাঁড়িয়েছিল তাদের হুকুম দিলেন পৌলের মুখে চড় মেরে তার মুখ বন্ধ করে দিতে৷
KJV : And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.
YLT : and the chief priest Ananias commanded those standing by him to smite him on the mouth,
RV : And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.
RSV : And the high priest Ananias commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth.

ERVEN : Ananias, the high priest, was there. When he heard this, he told the men who were standing near Paul to hit him in the mouth.

BNV : তখন পৌল অননিয়কে বললেন, ‘হে চুনকাম করা প্রাচীর! স্বয়ং ঈশ্বর তোমায় আঘাত করবেন৷ আইনসঙ্গত ভাবে আমার বিচার করার জন্য তুমি এখানে বসেছ; আর আমাকে আঘাত করার হুকুম দিয়ে তুমি মোশির বিধি-ব্যবস্থার বিরুদ্ধে যাচ্ছ৷’
KJV : Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, [thou] whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?
YLT : then Paul said unto him, `God is about to smite thee, thou whitewashed wall, and thou -- thou dost sit judging me according to the law, and, violating law, dost order me to be smitten!`
RV : Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: and sittest thou to judge me according to the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?
RSV : Then Paul said to him, "God shall strike you, you whitewashed wall! Are you sitting to judge me according to the law, and yet contrary to the law you order me to be struck?"
ASV : Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: and sittest thou to judge me according to the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?
ESV : Then Paul said to him, "God is going to strike you, you whitewashed wall! Are you sitting to judge me according to the law, and yet contrary to the law you order me to be struck?"
ERVEN : Paul said to Ananias, "God will hit you too! You are like a dirty wall that has been painted white. You sit there and judge me, using the Law of Moses. But you are telling them to hit me, and that is against the law."

BNV : যাঁরা পৌলের আশেপাশে দাঁড়িয়েছিল তারা তাঁকে বলল, ‘ঈশ্বরের মহাযাজকের সঙ্গে তুমি এইভাবে কথা বলতে পারো না৷ তুমি তাঁকে অপমান করছ!’
KJV : And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God’s high priest?
YLT : And those who stood by said, `The chief priest of God dost thou revile?`
RV : And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God-s high priest?
RSV : Those who stood by said, "Would you revile God's high priest?"
ASV : And they that stood by said, Revilest thou Gods high priest?
ESV : Those who stood by said, "Would you revile God's high priest?"
ERVEN : The men standing near Paul said to him, "Are you sure you want to insult God's high priest like that?"

BNV : পৌল বললেন, ‘ভাইরা, আমি বুঝতে পারি নি য়ে উনি মহাযাজক; কারণ এরকম লেখা আছে, ‘তুমি সমাজের কোন নেতার বিরুদ্ধে কটু কথা বলো না৷’
KJV : Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.
YLT : and Paul said, `I did not know, brethren, that he is chief priest: for it hath been written, Of the ruler of thy people thou shalt not speak evil;`
RV : And Paul said, I wist not, brethren, that he was high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of a ruler of thy people.
RSV : And Paul said, "I did not know, brethren, that he was the high priest; for it is written, `You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.'"

ERVEN : Paul said, "Brothers, I did not know this man was the high priest. The Scriptures say, 'You must not say bad things about a leader of your people.' "

BNV : পৌল যখন বুঝতে পারলেন য়ে তাদের মধ্যে কিছু সভ্য সদ্দূকী ও কিছু সভ্য ফরীশী, তখন তিনি মহাসভার উদ্দেশ্যে চিত্‌কার করে বলে উঠলেন, ‘ভাইরা আমি একজন ফরীশী! আর ফরীশীদেরই সন্তান৷ মৃতদের পুনরুত্থান হবে বলে আমার য়ে প্রত্যাশা আছে, তার জন্যই আমার এই বিচার হচ্ছে!’
KJV : But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men [and] brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.
YLT : and Paul having known that the one part are Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, cried out in the sanhedrim, `Men, brethren, I am a Pharisee -- son of a Pharisee -- concerning hope and rising again of dead men I am judged.`

ERVEN : Paul knew that some of the men in the council meeting were Sadducees and some were Pharisees. So he shouted, "My brothers, I am a Pharisee and my father was a Pharisee! I am on trial here because I believe that people will rise from death."

BNV : পৌলের কথা শুনে ফরীশী ও সদ্দূকীদের মধ্যে বিরোধ বেধে গেল৷ আর সভা দুটো দলে ভাগ হয়ে গেল৷
KJV : And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.
YLT : And he having spoken this, there came a dissension of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees, and the crowd was divided,

ERVEN : When Paul said this, a big argument started between the Pharisees and the Sadducees. The group was divided.

BNV : কারণ সদ্দূকীরা বলত পুনরুত্থান বলে কিছু নেই, স্বর্গদূত বা আত্মা বলেও কিছু নেই; কিন্তু ফরীশীরা উভয়ই বিশ্বাস করত৷
KJV : For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
YLT : for Sadducees, indeed, say there is no rising again, nor messenger, nor spirit, but Pharisees confess both.

BNV : চারদিকে বিরাট কোলাহল শুরু হয়ে গেল৷ ফরীশীদের মধ্যে থেকে কয়েকজন ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষক উঠে দাঁড়িয়ে খুব জোরালো তর্ক জুড়ে দিল, তারা বলল, ‘আমরা এঁর কোন দোষই দেখতে পাচ্ছি না! হয়তো কোন আত্মা বা স্বর্গদূত দম্মেশকের পথে সত্যসত্যই তাঁর সঙ্গে কথা বলেছেন!’
KJV : And there arose a great cry: and the scribes [that were] of the Pharisees’ part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.
YLT : And there came a great cry, and the scribes of the Pharisees` part having arisen, were striving, saying, `No evil do we find in this man; and if a spirit spake to him, or a messenger, we may not fight against God;`
RV : And there arose a great clamour: and some of the scribes of the Pharisees- part stood up, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: and what if a spirit hath spoken to him, or an angel?
RSV : Then a great clamor arose; and some of the scribes of the Pharisees' party stood up and contended, "We find nothing wrong in this man. What if a spirit or an angel spoke to him?"
ASV : And there arose a great clamor: and some of the scribes of the Pharisees part stood up, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: and what if a spirit hath spoken to him, or an angel?
ESV : Then a great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees' party stood up and contended sharply, "We find nothing wrong in this man. What if a spirit or an angel spoke to him?"
ERVEN : All these Jews began shouting louder and louder. Some of the teachers of the law, who were Pharisees, stood up and argued, "We find nothing wrong with this man. Maybe an angel or a spirit really did speak to him."

BNV : এইভাবে গণ্ডগোল বাড়তে বাড়তে লড়াইয়ে পরিণত হল৷ সেনাপতি ভয় পেয়ে গেলেন, য়ে তারা হয়তো পৌলকে টেনে-হিঁচড়ে টুকরো টুকরো করে ফেলবে; তাই তিনি হুকুম দিলেন য়েন সৈন্যরা নেমে গিয়ে ইহুদীদের মধ্য থেকে পৌলকে স্বর্গে নিয়ে যায়৷
KJV : And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring [him] into the castle.
YLT : and a great dissension having come, the chief captain having been afraid lest Paul may be pulled to pieces by them, commanded the soldiery, having gone down, to take him by force out of the midst of them, and to bring [him] to the castle.
RV : And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should be torn in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him by force from among them, and bring him into the castle.
RSV : And when the dissension became violent, the tribune, afraid that Paul would be torn in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him by force from among them and bring him into the barracks.
ASV : And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should be torn in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him by force from among them, and bring him into the castle.
ESV : And when the dissension became violent, the tribune, afraid that Paul would be torn to pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him away from among them by force and bring him into the barracks.
ERVEN : The argument turned into a fight, and the commander was afraid that the Jews would tear Paul to pieces. So he told the soldiers to go down and take Paul away from these Jews and put him in the army building.

BNV : পরদিন রাতে প্রভু যীশু পৌলের কাছে এসে দাঁড়ালেন৷ তিনি বললেন, ‘সাহস কর! কারণ তুমি আমার বিষয়ে য়েমন জেরুশালেমে সাক্ষ্য দিয়েছ, তেমনি রোমেও আমার কথা তোমাকে বলতে হবে!’
KJV : And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, {SCJ}Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome. {SCJ.}
YLT : And on the following night, the Lord having stood by him, said, `Take courage, Paul, for as thou didst fully testify the things concerning me at Jerusalem, so it behoveth thee also at Rome to testify.`
RV : And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer: for as thou hast testified concerning me at Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

ERVEN : The next night the Lord Jesus came and stood by Paul. He said, "Be brave! You have told people in Jerusalem about me. You must do the same in Rome."

BNV : পরের দিন সকালে ইহুদীরা জোট বেঁধে দিব্যি করে বলল, ‘পৌলকে হত্যা না করা পর্যন্ত তারা অন্ন জল মুখে তুলবে না৷
KJV : And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.
YLT : And day having come, certain of the Jews having made a concourse, did anathematize themselves, saying neither to eat nor to drink till they may kill Paul;

BNV : সেই ইহুদীরা প্রধান যাজক ও সমাজপতিদের কাছে গিয়ে বলল, ‘আমরা শপথ করেছি য়ে পৌলকে হত্যা না করা পর্যন্ত আমরা অন্ন জল মুখে তুলব না৷
KJV : And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.
YLT : who having come near to the chief priests and to the elders said, `With an anathema we did anathematize ourselves -- to taste nothing till we have killed Paul;
RV : And they came to the chief priests and the elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, to taste nothing until we have killed Paul.

BNV : এখন আপনারা মহাসভার সভ্যদের সঙ্গে সেনাপতির কাছে আবেদন করুন, য়েন তিনি আপনাদের কাছে পৌলকে নামিয়ে আনেন, বলুন য়ে আপনারা তার কাছে আরো কিছু প্রশ্ন করতে চান৷ সে এখানে আসার আগেই আমরা তাকে হত্যা করার জন্য তৈরী রইলাম৷’
KJV : Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.
YLT : now, therefore, ye, signify ye to the chief captain, with the sanhedrim, that to-morrow he may bring him down unto you, as being about to know more exactly the things concerning him; and we, before his coming nigh, are ready to put him to death.`
RV : Now therefore do ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you, as though ye would judge of his case more exactly: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to slay him.
RSV : You therefore, along with the council, give notice now to the tribune to bring him down to you, as though you were going to determine his case more exactly. And we are ready to kill him before he comes near."
ASV : Now therefore do ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you, as though ye would judge of his case more exactly: and we, before he comes near, are ready to slay him.
ESV : Now therefore you, along with the council, give notice to the tribune to bring him down to you, as though you were going to determine his case more exactly. And we are ready to kill him before he comes near."
ERVEN : So this is what we want you to do: Send a message to the commander from you and the high council. Tell him you want him to bring Paul out to you. Say that you want to ask him more questions. We will be waiting to kill him while he is on the way here."

BNV : কিন্তু পৌলের এক ভাগ্নে এই চক্রান্তের কথা জানতে পেরে দুর্গের মধ্যে ঢুকে পৌলকে সব কথা জানিয়ে দিল৷
KJV : And when Paul’s sister’s son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.
YLT : And the son of Paul`s sister having heard of the lying in wait, having gone and entered into the castle, told Paul,
RV : But Paul-s sister-s son heard of their lying in wait, and he came and entered into the castle, and told Paul.
RSV : Now the son of Paul's sister heard of their ambush; so he went and entered the barracks and told Paul.

BNV : পৌল তখন শতপতিদের একজনকে কাছে ডেকে বললেন, ‘আপনি এই যুবককে সেনাপতির কাছে নিয়ে যান, কারণ তাকে এর কিছু বলার আছে৷’
KJV : Then Paul called one of the centurions unto [him,] and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him.
YLT : and Paul having called near one of the centurions, said, `This young man lead unto the chief captain, for he hath something to tell him.`
RV : And Paul called unto him one of the centurions, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath something to tell him.
RSV : And Paul called one of the centurions and said, "Take this young man to the tribune; for he has something to tell him."
ASV : And Paul called unto him one of the centurions, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain; for he hath something to tell him.

ERVEN : Then Paul called one of the army officers and said to him, "Take this young man to the commander. He has a message for him."

BNV : তাতে তিনি সেই যুবককে সেনাপতির কাছে নিয়ে গিয়ে বললেন, ‘বন্দী পৌল আমার এই যুবককে আপনার কাছে নিয়ে আসতে বললেন, কারণ এ আপনাকে কিছু বলতে চায়৷’
KJV : So he took him, and brought [him] to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto [him,] and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.
YLT : He indeed, then, having taken him, brought him unto the chief captain, and saith, `The prisoner Paul, having called me near, asked [me] this young man to bring unto thee, having something to say to thee.`
RV : So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and saith, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and asked me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say to thee.
RSV : So he took him and brought him to the tribune and said, "Paul the prisoner called me and asked me to bring this young man to you, as he has something to say to you."

ERVEN : So the army officer brought Paul's nephew to the commander. The officer said, "The prisoner Paul asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to tell you."

BNV : তখন সেনাপতি যুবকটির হাত ধরে এক পাশে নিয়ে গিয়ে একান্তে তাকে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, ‘তুমি আমায় কি বলতে চাও বল৷’
KJV : Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went [with him] aside privately, and asked [him,] What is that thou hast to tell me?
YLT : And the chief captain having taken him by the hand, and having withdrawn by themselves, inquired, `What is that which thou hast to tell me?`
RV : And the chief captain took him by the hand, and going aside asked him privately, What is that thou hast to tell me?
RSV : The tribune took him by the hand, and going aside asked him privately, "What is it that you have to tell me?"
ASV : And the chief captain took him by the hand, and going aside asked him privately, What is it that thou hast to tell me?

ERVEN : The commander led the young man to a place where they could be alone. The commander asked, "What do you want to tell me?"

BNV : সেই যুবক বলল, ‘ইহুদীরা পরামর্শ করে ঠিক করেছে য়ে তারা পৌলকে আরও বিশদভাবে প্রশ্ন করার মিথ্যা অজুহাত নিয়ে আপনার কাছে এসে অনুরোধ করবে য়েন আপনি পৌলকে কাল মহাসভার সামনে হাজির করেন৷
KJV : And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.
YLT : and he said -- `The Jews agreed to request thee, that to-morrow to the sanhedrim thou mayest bring down Paul, as being about to enquire something more exactly concerning him;
RV : And he said, The Jews have agreed to ask thee to bring down Paul tomorrow unto the council, as though thou wouldest inquire somewhat more exactly concerning him.
RSV : And he said, "The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though they were going to inquire somewhat more closely about him.
ASV : And he said, The Jews have agreed to ask thee to bring down Paul tomorrow unto the council, as though thou wouldest inquire somewhat more exactly concerning him.
ESV : And he said, "The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though they were going to inquire somewhat more closely about him.
ERVEN : The young man said, "Some Jews have decided to ask you to bring Paul down to their council meeting tomorrow. They want you to think that they plan to ask Paul more questions.
