ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନ୍ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହିଲେ, "ପିଲାମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପିତାଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ମାନ କରନ୍ତି, ଗ୍ଭକରମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ମୁନିବଙ୍କୁ ସମ୍ମାନ କରନ୍ତି, ତେଣୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପିତା, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ କାହିଁକି ଭୟ ଓ ସମ୍ମାନ କରୁ ନାହିଁ? ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ମୁନିବ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ କାହିଁକି ଭୟ ଏବଂ ସମ୍ମାନ କରୁନାହିଁ? ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାଜକଗଣ ଆମ୍ଭର ନାମ ପ୍ରତି ତାଚ୍ଛଲ୍ଯ ମନୋଭାବ ଦଖାେଉଛ।"

A son honoureth [his] father, and a servant his master: if then I [be] a father, where [is] mine honour? and if I [be] a master, where [is] my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
