সন্ধ্যায় রাজপ্রাসাদে ঢোকার পর, মেযেটিকে পর দিন ভোরে প্রাসাদের আরেকটি অংশে, যেখানে অন্য মহিলারা থাকত সেখানে ফিরে আসতে হতো| এরপর তাকে শাশ্গস নামে আরেকজন নপুংসকের তত্ত্বাবধানে রাখা হতো| শাশ্গস ছিল রাজার উপপত্নীদের তত্ত্বাবধায়ক| যতক্ষণ পর্য়ন্ত না রাজা সন্তুষ্ট হয়ে বয়ং ঐ মেয়েদের ডেকে পাঠাতেন ততক্ষণ তারা কখনও রাজার কাছে ফিরে য়েতে পারতো না|

In the evening she went, and on the morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the king’s chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name.
