আমি যদি কোন অভিযোগে দোষী সাব্যস্ত হই ও মৃত্যুদণ্ড পাবার য়োগ্য হই, তবে আমি মৃত্যু থেকে রক্ষা পাবার জন্য বলব না৷ কিন্তু এরা আমার বিরুদ্ধে য়েসব অভিযোগ করছে, এসব যদি সত্য না হয় তবে এদের হাতে কেউ আমাকে তুলে দিতে পারবে না, কারণ আমি কৈসরের কাছে আপীল করছি!’

For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar.
